So I've been doing inktober, but I'm not really following the prompts or being too strict about posting everyday. I'm very busy and I don't want to stress myself out about a stupid art challenge. I just want to get in the habit of drawing everyday. I'll post all my inkings at the end of the month, but I upload them daily on my instagram story.

Anyways, I realized that I have become very bad at drawing eyes, and even worse at inking them, so I did some practice with this reference sheet. These are some eyes of the main characters from eyeseffendee. Not all of them are very realistic or anatomically correct (at least for coyotes), but I do that on purpose to show more personality and individuality.

For example, I based Saguaro's eyes off human eyes. She even has visible tear ducts, which aren't visible in canids. I did this to make her look more intelligent and human. She has lived with the spirits for the majority of her life, and they they have told her stories about the native Americans who lived near the four corners (Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado). She often corrects Astor when he refers to a human object with a coyote word (ex: eyeseffendee is actually I-70).

I also like to use eye shape to convey personalities of people I know in real life. I based both Astor and Roan's eyes off Gary's.
