Chapter 16

In the morning, Sasuke was shaking me awake. I turned in my bed and I faced my back to him. I flung my arm toward his arm, knocking is away. I heard him chuckle.

"Emiko, get up, Naruto hasn't returned from his training," He whispered in my ear. I sat up straight and I head butted him. He fell to the ground in pain and I slapped my hand to my head. I whined in pain.

"Sasuuuukkkkkeeeee!" I whined a bit and he looked at me glaring. "Dark duck!" I exclaimed, and he sighed at me.

"Get up," he said, standing up and walked out of the room. I jumped up and I got changed.

I snuck into Sakura's room and grabbed my bag and the bed in there, and took it in here last night. heh heh.

I brushed my hair a bit until I put it up. I walked out of the room, I headed to the kitchen. I saw Sasuke eating and Kakashi just sitting there. I smiled at Tsunami, Tazuna, and Inari. I bowed a little.

"Sorry for how I was acting last night. I shouldn't have. I was being a brat," I apologised to them, and Tazuna laughed at me.

"You're a teenager girl, your expected to snap once and a while. It didn't surprise me. I did raise a girl myself," he brushed off my apology. I frowned.

"Still, I'm a ninja. I should have acted better," I explained, and he laughed again along with Tsunami.

Tsunami gave me some food and told me to sit. "It's fine, really. I was worse when I was your age, how old are you?"

I laughed. "Turning 13. I guess it might be that, un," Kakashi sighed at that.

"I've got to handle two emotional teenage girls soon?" He asked... anyone really. Tazuna laughed at that.

He patted Kakashi on the back. "Good luck. And their ninjas. So they're going to fight back a hell of a lot harder," Kakashi winced. I laughed with Tazuna as I ate.

We talked a little bit over eating, Sasuke was being quiet. I finished my food, when I heard footsteps. My eyes narrowed on my bowl.

"Good morning," Sakura said and I stood up. I looked the girl in the eyes as she looked back at me.

Everyone watched for my reaction, and I rolled my eyes. "See ya," I walked to the door.

"Wait!" Sakura shouted after me. "I was right. You are being a brat," She called to me and I rolled my eyes.

I walked out of the house, and I headed towards where we were training yesterday. I saw Naruto and someone else.

"But you look strong enough already," the person said and I laughed once. They both looked at me.

"Your boasting his already huge ego," I told the person, who now that I could see their face. Was a girl.

"Emi!" Nzaruto whined, and I laughed, ruffling his hair, before I saw down next to him. "Lady, this is my best friend, Emiko," I nodded my head to the girl, smiling. "She's an artist," he added. "And she's really strong too. But we're going to become stronger and stronger," he told her.

"That's right," we fist bumped before smiling at the lady.

"For what reason?" she asked us, and I smiled.

"For me. It's to become the number one ninja in my village. I'm going to make everyone recognize my powers. Also, I need to prove something to someone," Naruto told the lady with a determined look in his eyes.

"For me, it's for my art to be seen as something more than just explosions, un," I added in my own reasons. "And to prove that I'm not just some useless girl who can only use explosions."

The lady leaned towards us. "Are you doing that for someone else? Or for yourself?" I smiled.

"What?" Naruto asked confused and I chuckled at him with the girl. "What's so funny?" He asked both me and the girl. Looking frustrated.

"Do you have someone that is important to you two?" she asked us both, and i ahh'ed.

Naruto looked confused as ever. "Important? What are you trying to get at?" He asked of her. I looked at her too. She seemed lost in thought.

I looked at Naruto and he looked at me. I shrugged and looked back. What is with her?

She looked up at us. "A person is able to become truly strong when they wish to protect someone they cherish," my eyes dropped.

I have that. many people. I have my brother, Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, Shikamaru, Kiba, Hinata, and Shino.

Naruto smiled at the girl. "Yeah, I understand that, Emiko is one of them," my eyes widened. I looked at him and then smiled.

"You to, Naruto," I hugged him around the shoulders tightly. He hugged me back tightly.

The girl smiled at us and stood up. Picked up her basket and looked down at us. "You two will become strong," she told us, and then she started to walk off. "Let's meet again somewhere," she kept on walking,and then she just stop. "Oh, and I'm a man," before she continued to walk off.

My jaw dropped, but, but, but. Oh my Jashin. Naruto looked just as shock as I am. I stood up and I put my hands around my mouth. "Sorry, dude!" I shouted, and I sighed.

I saw Sasuke walk passed him, and looked back for a second at the man we thought was a girl, before turning and looking at us. "Why? What an amazing thing. This world is engulfed with mysteries," Naruto muttered, and I nodded my head.

"I'll pray to Jashin on that," I answered as Sasuke walked passed me.

He walked to right in front of Naruto, before punching him in the head. My eyes widened before I snickered.

"Ouch. What are you doing?" Naruto asked Sasuke. As Sasuke looked down at him with a frown on his face.

Sasuke crossed his arms and said. "Did you forget about breackfast time, idiot?" Sasuke asked of him and I frowned.

"That's right, I forget about that. Naruto, when we get back to the village no ramen for a week for this," Naruto frowned at me sadness. I looked away.

"You really do act like his sister," Sasuke pointed out, and I nodded my head.

"Yep! It's worse when I'm in mother hen mode. You might want to run for the hills then," I warned him, with a cheeky smile on my face.

Naruto smiled at him too. Sasuke flinched at Naruto's smile. I snickered, before I whistled loud and long. They both jumped at it.

My bird flew towards me and I jumped onto it. I saluted them with a smile. "Next time I'm grounded, me, and you two,race to see who can go the highest, alright?" I warned them.

They both smirked cockily at me and nodded their heads. I focused my chakra to my feet, and I moved forward. Before making the bird fly straight up. Twirling.

Keeping my chakra equal. Not letting up on the control.

It then turned sharply, and I held the chakra flow right. It then went around and around in circles. Trying to get me to be distracted, to stop the chakra flow. But I wasn't letting up, and the chakra wasn't flowing to my hands like it usually did.

The bird and I went at this for hours and I felt like I had this down. I headed to where Naruto and Sasuke were. When I heard Sakura. I glared at her pink head when she came in sight. I stayed in the air hovering on the bird and I listened to what was going on.

"What's Naruto doing? Sasuke hasn't returned after he said he was going for a walk, either. And Emiko didn't return. I may be that reason though," she stated to Kakashi who she was with, and I rolled my eyes. Actually I was training my butt off.

Suddenly, a kunai flew out of nowhere and landed in front of them. I bit my lip to hide my snicker.

I could see Naruto laying in a high branch. Looking down at Sakura and Kakashi. I beamed towards my best friend.

"No way. Naruto's able to climb all the way up there now?" She asked in disbelief. I shook my head at her. She doesn't know Naruto at all. "Amazing."

"How do you like that?! I can climb this high now," Naruto yelled towards Sakura and Kakashi. Naruto jumped up and stumbled a bit. My eyes widened.

He started to fall backwards. I made the bird fly towards him. I could hear Kakashi and Sakura voice their worries. When I was below the branch he was in. I jumped off, did a flip. Made sure my feet were connected to the tree.

I went to grab Naruto, but he connected his feet to the branch with Chakra. He started laughing at Sakura and Kakashi and I sighed.

"Not," He laughed, and I rolled my eyes. I started too walked to the trunk of the tree, and walked down it. "You fell for it!"

"You scared me!" Sakura yelled in fright. I rolled my eyes.

"No need to throw a fit about it. Naruto likes to pull pranks, if you remember correctly," I called down as I was walking down.

"Naruto, you idiot! That's what happens when you get so cocky!" Sakura shouted suddenly.

I furrowed my eye brows, and I looked back as a blur ran passed me. Making me spin a little. But my chakra didn't falter once.

I looked at where Naruto was. I saw Sasuke holding onto Naruto's leg while he was holding onto the tree with his chakra. I guess Naruto almost fell. I should have been watching. Well, his fault I guess...

"Silly Naruto," I muttered, and I walked towards them.

"You idiot," Sasuke told Naruto looking down at him. I snickered.

"Naruto, silly, Naruto," I told him, as Naruto glared at Sasuke.

"Sasuke? Emiko?" Naruto asked and I waved at him with a smile on my face. Then I heard Sakura scream and I winced. Ew.

"Way to go Sasuke! You amaze me!" she screamed up to us, I rolled my eyes.

"Way to go Sasuke! You amaze me!" I mimicked her with a super high voice. Sasuke chuckled at me. I smirked at him. I whistled again making Sasuke jumped a little and Naruto look around in shock. My bird flew towards us. It hovered below us, "Sasuke, drop Naruto onto my bird, you can jump on it too," I said, jumping on it.

Sasuke dropped Naruto, Naruto landed next to me. I smiled at him. He beamed back. Then Sasuke jumped onto it too.

"Sasuke, Naruto. Hold on. Use you chakra if you have too," I ordered them and they nodded their heads, sitting down on the bird.

I flew to the ground not using chakra. I'm used to standing when I fly down. I just need balanced for that. I stopped slowly. I don't think that they would like it if I stop quickly.

I smiled at them as they both jumped off. They both looked at me, as Kakashi and Sakura walked to their sides.

"Emi! How do you do that?! you weren't even going g really fast, and I wasn't standing, yet... you were!" Naruto shouted at me and I laughed.

"I like the speed," I told him. Then I threw a smirk Sakura's way. "Useless, you try this," I stood up straighter and then I looked up.

The bird flew up into the air again, straight up. Twisting like crazy. I had my arms out beside me. I smiled brightly. I closed my eyes, and then I jumped off the bird. I was falling, and then the bird flew near me, and touch my feet with its stomach. I connected with it, and then I walked to the back, as it flew down towards them, twisting as it went.

When it was close to the ground. I pulled it up sharply. I smiled at them opening my eyes. Sakura's hand was covering her mouth. Kakashi's eye was wide. Naruto had fallen over. Sasuke had frozen.

"I'd like you to try to call me useless now, Sakura," I stated, jumping off the bird and I brushed my hands on my pants.

"Emiko... but, you couldn't do this before!" Sakura shouted at me. "I beat you were cheating!" I rolled my eyes.

I pointed my thumb back towards the bird. "I'll do it again, with you on it if you want," I answered simply. She glared at me.

She was about to run at me but then Kakashi grabbed the back of her dress. "Calm down. Emiko, don't show off," I shrugged. Then I smirked at Sakura's fuming face.

"Don't bite off more than you can chew, Sakura. Because when you're up against someone who has four mouths, you'll never win," I laughed at my own joke. She frowned at me.

"But, you only got three. Your normal mouth, and those ones on your hands," she informed me, and I shook my head.

I pointed to my stomach. "I've got one here too," her jaw dropped. But then she shook her head.

"I don't believe you," I shrugged, and I went to pull my shirt to show her it but she screamed. "Stop! Not in front of my Sasuke!" I chuckled at her, and stopped.

"Like I would," I snickered and she turned red, turned around and stomped off. I sighed and I stretched my arms in front of me. "So much better when I don't lose my temper," Kakashi chuckled at me.

"I think you pissed her off more, because you were so calm. I'm proud you didn't lose your temper, but you shouldn't get on her bad side, we can't let this effect your teamwork," Kakashi warned me, and I nodded my head in understanding.

Then he walked off. I looked at Naruto and Sasuke. I saw they were completely red. Why's that?

"Narutoooo! Sasuuuukkkkeeee!" I called snapping my fingers in front of their faces, they snapped out of it.

"Emiko!" Naruto shouted and then he hit me over my head. "Don't pull your shirt up!!" He yelled, and I laughed. So that was it.

"Alright, Naruto. I won't do that. Promise," I promised as I rubbed my head where he hit me.

I stood up straight, and I smiled at them both. I then jumped into the air and did a back flip onto the bird.

"Call me down, when you're ready for the race!" I called to them before the bird took off into the air.

********timeskip!******

It was dark when "EMIKO!!" Two voices' travelled up to me in mid loop. I frowned and then I steadied the bird down towards the voices.

I saw Sasuke and Naruto looking at me when I flew down. When I touched ground I jumped off the bird. I smiled at them.

Naruto did his foxy grin, "We're ready Emiko. Let's see whose training type is better, Kakashi sensei's type, or your bird one," I grinned back and I nodded my head.

I rested my hand on the bird and I made the explosive power to E1, not my C2. Then I walked to the tree where I first tried this.

I took a few steps back and I prepared myself. "When my Bird explodes, we go, alright?" I said, looking at them. They both nodded.

I put my hands together, and I shouted. "Katsu!" BOOM! I took off.

I focused my chakra to my feet as I shot up the tree. I heard Sasuke and Naruto doing the same. I narrowed my eyes at a branch. I dodged it and kept going. When I reached the top. I saw Sasuke did too, and Naruto a few seconds later.

"I win!" I sung, and Naruto and Sasuke both glared at me. "Dark Duck!"

"No, we tied Emiko," Sasuke said threw his teeth. I shook my head and I crossed my arms.

Naruto looked away from me in time. Before I brought out the big guns. My pout. I looked at Sasuke, my eyes all wide with tears in them.

"Sasuke look away!" Naruto shouted, but it was too late. Sasuke was looking into my eyes, frozen, stiff as a bird in front of its predator.

"Sasuuuuuuu," I cooed and he gulped. "Please," I begged, my lip quivering.

"W-w-what?" Sasuke stuttered. I smirked inwardly. I made the great Uchiha stutter. I am AWESOME!

I made a tear fall. "Please say I won..." I cooed, and he started to shake. Trying to fight it. "Pleaaaasssseeeee!"

He almost fell out of his tree but he caught himself. "You w-w-w-won," he muttered. I stopped the pout and I beamed at him cheekily. I wiped the tear away. A complete attitude change

"Thanks for admitting it, Sasuke," I said and he turned red.

Naruto started to laugh. "Even the great Uchiha couldn't resist it!" He laughed and I frowned at Naruto.

"Naruto, like your any better. You always look away when I do it nowadays. This was Sasuke's first time it being used on him full ball like that, he did well. He got to tear stage," I pointed out, and Naruto's eyes widened.

"Tear stage? Sasuke, it kills me to admit it, but that's good. Not many people fall under it then. They fall under it at lip quivering," Yeah, Naruto's knows it well. Not many people know my look this well. Well, beside my brother. But I've upped it since I was a kid.

Sasuke gulped. "What's the last stage?" He asked, not really wanting to know. I smirked at him.

"Me hugging you, full ball crying. Shaking, lip quivering, the voice. Everything really into one," I explained, simply. Then I rubbed my hands together. "I am so going to use it on Deidara when I see him again, oh this is going to be sweet," I said with an evil glint in my eyes.

Naruto laughed at me, and Sasuke hn'd before looking down.

"Let's go home," Sasuke told us, I looked over at him with a smile on my face.

"Yeah!" Naruto and I said at the same time. I moved so I could run down the tree.

"Race yah! Un!" I yelled, as I shot down the tree. I could hear Naruto shouting at me, saying that I cheated. And Sasuke just moved.

I made it down first, because I did start first after all. Sasuke arrived after. I walked to his side, and then I heard a scream. I looked and I saw Naruto falling down. My eyes widened as he thumped into the ground. I ran to his side as he sat up. I looked at him carefully. He looked at me when I helped him stand up.

Sasuke walked over to us and he put Naruto's arm around his shoulder as I did it to his other side. "Idiot," Naruto glared at Sasuke, I just snickered.

We started toward the house as Naruto yelled at Sasuke. I rolled my eyes at him. Before I ruffled his hair. He frowned at me and I looked at him innocently.

When we got to the house. I opened the front door and we walked in. I kicked the door closed as I went.

We went to the kitchen, dragging Naruto. Everyone looked at us in shock.

"What's with you three? You look really dirty and tired," Tazuna pointed out, and I chuckled. He was right. We are dirty and tired.

Naruto looked up with a smirk. "Us three climbed to the top," he told them.

"We did it, and I won!" I cheered with a happy smile. Sasuke threw me a glare and I smirked at him. "Dark duuuucccckkkk," I cooed and he quickly looked away. I snickered and looked away.

"Okay, Naruto, Sasuke, Emiko. You three guard Tazuna next time, as well," I beamed. I threw a smirked at Sakura, and she glared at me. Bring it on.

"Roger!" Naruto exclaimed, standing up straight but lost his footing and fell down. Dragging Sasuke and I down to the ground as well.

Sasuke glared at Naruto while I laughed. "You idiot!" he told Naruto and I patted Naruto's head, then Sasuke's. They both looked at me.

"You two, my friends. Are really funny, you know that right?" Naruto chuckled at me, and hit me over the head. I blinked a few times. Before I frowned at Naruto as I stood up.

Then I pulled him up, and Sasuke in doing so too. We headed to our chairs and sat down. Then we all ate our dinner in silence.

When we finished our dinner. I leaned back a little and I stretched. I saw Sakura's eyes, eye my stomach I little. I rolled my eyes.

"The bridge it almost complete," Tazuna said out of the blue. We looked over at him. Tsunami picking up the dishes. "It's thanks to you," he told us, and I scratched the back of my neck shyly.

"But don't push yourself to much," Tsunami told us worriedly. Looking over each of us.

Tazuna sat up straight before talking again. "I wanted to ask this before, but why are you still here even when I lied about the request details?" Tazuna asked of us.

I shook my head. "I pitied your act of a defenceless old man," Kakashi hit me over the head. "Ouch! Alright, alright. It was right. I would have felt bad if we left. But that's me," I answered for myself.

Kakashi sighed at my antics. Before looking at the table, resting his elbows on it. "'Not doing right, when you know it is right is a coward's ways. There are no weak sholders under a valiant commander'." He quoted. I knew that quote from somewhere... Kakashi looked at Tazuna and Tsunami's shocked faces. "They're the teachings of the previous Hokage," Kakashi told them.

"Ah ha! That's where I heard that before!" Everyone jumped at my outburst, and I snickered. "Woops," Kakashi sighed and shock his head at me as I looked away from everyone.

I saw Inari shaking next to me. I looked at him, and I saw he was crying. I bit my lip. I don't know how to deal with a crying kid sitting next to me!

"Why..." the boy muttered under his breath. Naruto looked up at him, then me. I shrugged.

"What?" Naruto asked the boy, sounding annoyed at the boy. Everyone stoped what they were doing and looked at Inari.

Inari slammed his hands on the table, standing up. Glaring at Naruto with tear filled eyes. "Why are you trying so hard that you end up like that?" He shouted, referring to Naruto's beat up looking self. "You can't beat Gatoh's men even if you train! No matter how hard you try and say those happy words. Weak people are going to lose against strong people!"

Naruto just rested his head on his arm that were on the table. "Shut up. I'm different from you." Naruto brushed him off.

Inari's tears fell harder. "Shut up! It pisses me off when I watch you! You don't know anything about this country, are you're so nosy!" He screamed and I sighed. "I'm different from you, someone who doesn't know any real pain and just laughs all the time!" I froze in place. I looked at Naruto, and Sasuke. Sasuke was frozen with a dark look clouding his eyes.

Naruto tensed a little. "Is that why you're pretending to be the main character of a tragedy and just crying? An idiot like you can just keep crying," I dropped my eyes, before looking at Naruto. Naruto lifted his head and glared at Inari. "You cry-baby."

Looked at Inari waiting for his reaction. "Naruto! That's too much," Sakura scowled Naruto, and I looked at her with an annoyed look. Naruto just got up and walked to bed.

"Sakura, Inari has to learn that crying isn't going to help," I told her looking at said boy. "Listen to me," the boy looked at me. "Everyone in my team, besides Sakura, has lost people we love, or people who are supposed to love you hate you, or has never felt love until your age, the ninja world is three times worse than your world," he glared at me.

"What do you know about lose?!" He screamed at me, and I bonked him on the head with a chuckle.

"A lot. For one. My father died before I was born. My mother couldn't take care of me because of the loss; my brother took care of me, and then in a way left me behind. I was sent to a place that was so foreign to me. I originated from Iwa, or the land of stone. Konoha will always be my second home; I lost my home and my brother, in the same day. And guess what?" He looked at me in shock.

"What?" he asked of me, and I smiled at him.

"I didn't cry once," then I stood up, and I walked to the bedroom. I heard Sasuke following me.

When we were in front of the door, Sasuke turned me around. I looked into his eyes as he looked into mine.

"You never cried about it? Not once?" Sasuke asked me and I shook my head. I looked passed him to the moon.

"No, Deidara warned me that one day we might be separated. It was still a shook. Almost cried, but Dei's hugs are the best, and he stopped the water works," I explained to Sasuke and he nodded his head thinking over what I said.

I turned around and I headed to the room, seeing Naruto jumping into bed. He looked at me weirdly.

"What are you doing in here?" He asked, and I pointed to my bed. His eyes widened.

"I'm not sleeping in the same room as Sakura. I'll probably kill her in my sleep," I explained, as Sasuke walked in.

I went to my bag, and I grabed my nightgown. And I walked out. To the bathroom. Did what I needed. I got changed, and then I headed to the room.

I saw Naruto and Sasuke asleep. I smiled fondly at them. Who would have guessed it, the person I avoided the most in the Academy. Would become one of my important people.

A little bit of Sasu/Emi again. a lot of people have wanted the pairing, or a love triangle of Neji/Emi/Sasu. I've never written a love triangle before. I'm not saying that this is set. But it's a definite possibility. I'm surprised that people didn't like Gaara/Emi. But I get that you see Sasuke and Emiko together. I've had from day dot that they were going to be a definite couple choice.
