Chapter 24

Forehead protector? Check

Scope set and in place? Check

Pouch filled with explosive clay? Check

Chakra high and not lacking? Check

Clothes all straight? Check

Hair won't get in the way more than normal in case of a fight? Check

Normal weapons that I might use? Check

I smirked in the mirror as I did my mental check. Everything is set and I'm ready to go. I turned around and I walked out of my room and proceeded out of my place.

I headed straight to Naruto's house, smiling as I went. I wonder if I am going to get to fight any of those Suna ninja? Or the Iwa ninja? It's going to be a bit scary if I go up against Yumi. Or Rikku as she was my friend once.

I sighed as I reached Naruto's house. I knocked on the door before entering. I saw Naruto and he... was ready to go?! Wow, scary.

"Hey Naruto! Ready for this thing?" I asked him with a smile. He beamed at me.

"I'm ready to go!" He cheered, fist pumping the air. I chuckled at him and did the same thing. Before grabbing his arm and pulling him out of his apartment and towards the Academy.

Naruto was whining as I was pulling him. making me laugh at him. I wonder how this would look to other people. Probably think I was insane.

When we got to the Academy, I let go of Naruto's arm and he fell onto the ground. Right at Sasuke's feet. I snickered as Naruto slowly looked up and saw Sasuke looking down at him with a 'get away from me loser' look. He seriously has one of those looks.

Naruto quickly scrambled to his feet and glared at me. I snickered as I quickly jumped and hid behind Sasuke.

Sasuke looked over his shoulder at me with his eye brow raised. "Hey Sasuke, how's it going? Fine, hey so am I, except my best friend might try to kill me today, but hey I'm cool with it, un," I greeted him, and rolled his eyes at me with a smirk on his face.

He then pushed me out from behind him and I had to face Naruto. I waved shyly. "Emi! Why did you drag me all the way here?!" He exclaimed and I scratched the back of my head with a nervous chuckle.

"No reason, you're just slow some times when we walk," I told him and then he tried to strangle me, but Sasuke bonked Naruto on the head. Making him glare at Sasuke. Thank you Sasuke for distracting him from killing me.

"Loser, we need her for the exam," Sasuke pointed out and my eye twitched. "She's a good ninja to have on our team."

"Yeah, I'm not useless, specking of useless, where is Sakura?" that spiked Naruto's interest as he realised that she wasn't here. "Oh, Jashin, isn't she going to turn up?"

We waited for ten minutes of Sakura. I sighed. She really isn't going to turn up. Wow, that proves how usele- never mind, there she is.

"Sakura! You're late!" Naruto exclaimed looking towards the girl as she reached us.

"Yeah, we were about to go in without you," I stated and she looked at us nervously.

"Sorry," She said to us with a wave and then looked at Sasuke. With a slight blush on her face. "Good morning, Sasuke," She said weirdly. Sasuke greeted her back.

I looked at her carefully. What's up with her? She's being weird. I shook my head and then I pointed to the doors. "Should we get going?" I asked my team and they all looked at me, nodding their heads.

We walked in and started towards the stairs. We walked in silence, preparing ourselves for the exam. When we reached the 2nd floor, we noticed there was a group of people in the area. I furrowed my eye brows. Why is everyone here?

"Let's check it out?" I asked my team. Naruto and Sakura nodded their head and Sasuke just started to walk towards it.

We got there in time to see some guy get kicked back by... is that Izumo and Kotetsu? EH? Weird. They look younger, but my scope says who they are. I guess it's a transformation jutsu and a gen jutsu to boot by the looks of that fake sign. How sad no one else has figured it out yet.

A girl went to the boy who was kicked, side. I guess their teammates.

"You're trying to take the chuunin exam with that kind of level?" Kotetsu stated with a snicker. I rolled my eyes.

"Maybe you should quit, kids?" Izumo said smiling with a smirk set on his face.

"You're still just kids," Kotetsu pointed out and my hands clenched at my sides. I looked at the rest of my team and they didn't look at me. pout moment. I looked back to the two transformed chuunins.

"Please, let us through," the girl who's helping her teammates begged the chuunins. I bit my lip at that. Really? Are you going to beg in real life?

She stood up and walked towards them, only to get slapped back and fall to the ground. My eyes narrowed on the chuunins.

"How cruel," Someone said in the group of genin who all were just standing there.

"What did you say? Listen up; we're being kind to you. The chuunin exam is extremely difficult," Koteusu started, leaving Izumo to do the rest by the looks of it.

"We have seen those who gave up on becoming a ninja or became seriously injured taking this exam," Izumo told everyone. My team just pushed to the front of the group of people.

"A chuunin is a commander of a squad. It's the commander's responsibility for failing any missions and the death of their subordinates. And to think these kids are trying to," Kotetsu trailed off, before snickering at us.

"What's wrong with sifting out those who aren't going to pass anyway?" Izumo finished for Kotetsu. I rolled my eyes again with a smirk.

"That's a sound argument. But I will pass," Sasuke told them with his hands in his pockets. He stepped a few steps forward in front of the rest of the team. "And undo this field you've created using genjutsu. I want to go to the third floor," He added as an afterthought.

So Sasuke noticed it too. I heard people asking what he was talking about I yawned at them. "Come on people. Genjutsu isn't even my forte and I saw through it," I called out and people start looking at me weirdly, making me roll my eyes again.

I stepped up beside Sasuke. He looked at me from the corner of his eyes. The two chuunin looked defeated at ous words.

"You noticed?" Izumo asked of us and I rolled my eyes, crossing my arms. (AN Emiko is doing a lot of that today, isn't she?)

Sasuke turned his head to Sakura. "Sakura, how about you? You should've noticed first," Sasuke praised Sakura and my eyes widened, before they started to twitch. He say what now?! The girl wouldn't be able to see it when she's so... fan girlish! Sakura looked at Sasuke, shocked he would say that about her. Sasuke looked away from her before she looked at him. "Your analyzation skills and genjutsu know-how is the best in our team," He explained to her. I rolled my eyes. Got to say it's sort of true, but she's fail at everything else.

Sakura muttered a thank you to Sasuke. Which made me roll my eyes for the millionth time this day. "Of course, I've noticed it already. Because, this is the 2nd floor," oh give the girl a prize.

Naruto agreed but I don't think he knew it was there. "Oi, and Izumo, Kotetsu, what are you doing here anyway?" I asked as they dispelled the genjutsu.

They looked at me in shock. Before catching themselves. "You two are pretty good. But just being able to detect the genjutsu and knowing who we really are isn't enough," Kotetsu warned us.

Izumo and Kotetsu tried to attack us. Sasuke was about to block Kotetsu kick with a kick of his own, but then someone stepped in and blocked them both. His speed. Wow. Then I remember I was being attacked. I ducked and then slid back, dodging a punch and kick combo. My eyes started to twitch as he did a swipe attack, making me jump into the air.

I am getting really annoyed. "Izumo, stop. You know how Emiko is, how long before she... uses her art?" Kotetsu warned Izumo.

Izumo sighed and jumped back before I could counter attack his swipe kick. I landed on the ground and I wiped my hands on my pants.

I looked at my team and saw them with the boy how was getting beat up and the girl who got hit with a boy who... had the same eyes as Hinata.

They were all looking at me. I scratched the back of my head. "Emiko!" the green boy... wait a second. Green, weird hair, looks like a young clone of guy... LEE! And the rest must be the rest of his team. I waved.

"Hey Lee, still fast as always, eh?" I asked, before he attacked me with a hug. Yeah, I know the guy for a year, and he hugs me. Well, I haven't seen hi-

"Guy sensei and I haven't seen you for three months! Our morning runs have lost the youthfulness that is Emiko!" He cried, and I laughed.

"Well, I couldn't let keep training with Guy sensei when I'm training with someone else, right?" I asked pushing him off of me. He did his and Guy's infamous thumbs up.

"So, you're Emiko Kin. Guy sensei talks about you a lot," the girl told me and I snickered, scratching the back of my head.

"He should remember me. I screamed and slammed a door in his face the day I met the guy. That's a big first impression if you ask me," I joked and she laughed at me.

"I'm Tenten," She introduced herself and I nodded my head to her.

I heard my name said and I looked at my team. They looked really confused. I pointed to Lee. "I used to train with him and his sensei. Running only though," I explained to my team. "Reason I'm so fast."

"Specking of..." The boy on Lee's team muttered so only the people near him heard. He looked towards Lee. "Lee, you broke the promise. You're the one who didn't want to gather attention by doing something that stands out," He basically scolded Lee. I snickered.

Lee looking towards Sakura with a blush on his face. Oh Jashin no. "She must be why..." Tenten muttered and I face palmed myself.

I walked to Sasuke's side. I leaned to his ear. "His way stronger then he seems, Sasuke," I whispered to him and I then I turned around standing besides Sasuke.

Lee walked towards Sakura, looked determined. "My name is Rock Lee. You are Sakura, right?" Lee asked Sakura. Sakura nodded her head. Lee gave her a thumbs up, still blushing red. "Let's go out together! I will protect you until I die!" my eye twitched.

"No way..." She said bluntly, looking really grossed out.

Lee looked crushed. "What?" He murmered, and I felt bad for Lee.

"You're too 'unique' for my tastes,'" Sakura explained to Lee. Lee's head dropped in despair. Naruto laughed at Lee. Sakura's eyes gleamed with something that I didn't like, before looking at me. "Ask Emiko. Sure she'd say yes. She likes people for are unique, she's the most unique person I know," that's it!

Lee looked at me and I pointed to my pouch. He knows the clay is there but not what they can do. "But, the clay critters are really youthful..." Lee told Sakura and she froze.

I snickered as I leaned against the wall. Looking at Lee as he his head against the wall in sadness.

"Hey, you there," Lee's guy teammate called out to Sasuke. I looked over and I saw Sasuke turn to face him. "Identify yourself," He ordered Sasuke. I bite my lit to stop myself from laughing.

I could feel Naruto's anger. I looked at him as he glared daggers at Sasuke. I looked back at the boy's and I saw that they... both had their hands in their pockets. I sighed. Weird boy thing I guess.

"You're supposed to identify yourself before you ask," Sasuke explained to Lee's teammate. The boy glared at Sasuke.

"You're a rookie, aren't you? How old are you?" He asked of Sasuke and I snickered out loud. They looked at me.

"Dude, this guy doesn't listen to orders. Trust me. I've known the guy for three years and then been his friend for around a month or so," I stated, pushing off the wall and I walked to Sasuke's side. "How about I do this... Hey, I am Emiko Kin, and you are?" I asked, and the boy looked at me funnily.

"Neji Hyuga," Neji introduced himself and then I patted Sasuke's shoulder.

"This bundle of happiness is Sasuke Uchiha. There now was that so hard?" I all but cooed at Sasuke, he glared at me. I smirked. "DARK DUCK!" I shouted and everyone around us jumped. I snicked at that.

"Emiko. Guy sensei talks highly of you, can't wait to see if you stand up to his expectations," Neji informed me and I stretched my arms in front of me.

"Oh trust me, What Guy sensei knows about me, is nothing of what I could do. He doesn't know how I make my art, at all. Or what they do. I kept that hidden from him and I'm glad I did. He has told Lee everything he knows about me no doubt for this thing, and you and Tenten as well. So you all should be ready for a huge shocker," I stated as I grabbed Sasuke's hand out of his pocket and I pulled him to where Naruto and Lee were, in their emo corner.

Lee was muttering about being too unique, and Naruto said about no one caring about him. That made me frown.

I let go of Sasuke's hand and I walked in-between them before punching them both in the head. "Lee Naruto! Lee, you are you, being unique is awesome, and you, Naruto! You were the only person I cared about in the Academy when I stated. I sat next to you! So, both get out of your pity corner and be the people I know and I've grown to love!" I ordered them. They both winced in pain from my punch.

Before they turned on their heel and stood straight. "Yes Emiko!" They both said and I chuckled at them before I hugged them both.

"Be yourself, alright?" I whispered to them, and they nodded their heads, before I let them go.

"Sasuke, Naruto... Emiko," she hissed my name, of course. "Let's go!" Sakura exclaimed, and she grabbed Naruto and Sasuke's arm.

Naruto grabbed mine in time and I laughed at that.

So, so far I know nine of the contestants. Lee, Tenten, Neji, Konoha ninjas. Gaara, Temari, Kakuro Suna nin's and then Rikku, Yumi, Rin, Iwa Nin's... well, this is going to be interesting at least.

Whoop, I've uploaded at last!! Sorry about the slow upload, life got busy and then I got distracted by playing a game called Shadow Hearts last weekend... whoops, heh heh.
