Falling in Love

I sense the willingness to succeed in life
That results in a fusillade of strife
Emotion fuels the desire for love
But success comes from above

Flesh is the facade of desire
That haunts the chance to acquire
The very prize that we wish 
That evades us like a slippery fish

Failure is not an option in this shame
Determination is necessary for fame
We have only ourselves to blame
In this difficult but fulfilling game

True love is based on trust and loyalty out of the gate
It's a reality that is often learned too late
Which often leads to a miserable fate

Love comes from the heart they say
But the truth is that it must exist every day
A valuable relationship takes lots of work
One thing is sure, it's not a joke

You only get one chance at success
Failure to succeed will result in a mess
Life is not a play,  or so it seems
It's not a figment of our dreams

It's the only chance we get
To avoid the pain of regret
