The expectations of a holiday

Often exceed our anticipations

We ask for much but receive little

Holidays are made to rejoice

For the bounty that life can provide

But we often distort it to assuage

Our inner desires and lusts

The day is designed to provide us time

To be thankful for what we have

Not what we think we should have

Just being with family is a true joy

That should be celebrated every day

Dawn knows that the box of sweets

Is from someone she truly loves

That's good reason to rejoice
