The eyes are a window to the soul

A truism that we often extol

Truth lies in the value of the whole

Not the object of an implicit cajole

That implies a mature control

Of emotions that are on the pole

Of judgement that lies in a sole

Subjective opinion that is the goal

Of a more important locale

Where a reflection reveals a role

That is a shadow of the soul
