Behold, the African Wild Dog! A beautiful canine with extra long legs and big ears, altogether pulling off a uniquely adorkable look. :3

Sadly, these guys are some of the most endangered mammals in the world, and there are only about 6,000 or so left. That may seem like a lot, but when you consider the lack of prey, hunting, dwindling habitat, and competition with other predators like lions, it's clear that those numbers won't hold out for much longer until something is done.

In fact, the World Wildlife Fund is trying to set aside designated safety areas for them to roam free, without the threat of their land being stolen. With this extra land they can have much better chances of finding prey, such as gazelles, to feed their families.

Seriously though, if you haven't looked them up by now- DO! They're absolutely amazing. :D

This was mostly for Bubbly-Wolf's endangered species thing, but also because, let's face it, African Wild Dogs are too cute not to draw. :3
