but basically I like to think Perimedes had the hat Elpenor wore first then gave it to Perimedes after admitting he's depressed and possibly suicidal, and Elpenor got upset at him for not telling him sooner. And after a long talk Elpenor convinces Perimedes not to Jill himself :)
