Small Tutorial Thing
So _TinaaDrawz4U_- asked how I do dragon hands/feet (it always bothers me slightly when people refer to the foot , hand, or paw as a claw or talon because claw/talon, by definition, refers to the actual claw or talon, Not the appendage itself; it gets really confusing) so I made a little tutorial thing. So here ya go!
(Just know I have never done a tutorial thing so it might be kinda bad)
Sorta Side View:
So first I start with drawing a really sketchy base of the leg and foot
Then I turn down the opacity and begin drawing the leg on another layer. To start the foot I draw the sides slightly wider than the wrist.
After do that, I draw the start of each toe so I know where each is going to be
Then I curve the toe down, making the middle of the toe a bit thinner than the rest, and end it with that sorta round edged rectangle shape (no clue how to describe it) for the end of the toe
To complete the foot, I draw the last little bridge underneath the toe nearest to the viewer
After that I draw the claws, which can be drawn differently depending on the type of claws you want (or you can just leave them out if your character has no claws).
With the claws, I also add a line through the sorts center of them since it looks nice to do that (I don't know how else to describe the purpose of the line; I mean it does give it a sorta sectioned appeal that I like so that's why I do it)
Then lastly, I line it, which makes it look way more refined and just better than the sketch
Front view:
Once again, I start with a really rough base
On a different layer, I start the leg
With the front view, I make the middle toe take up more space and come more toward since it is longer than the others
I do the same thing as before, curving the toe down and then out a bit to make the middle thinner (which is most clear on the middle toe)
Then I add the bottom of each toe, with the bottom of the middle toe coming down a bit more than the other two
As before, I add the claws, with the middle one taking on more of a diamond like shape since it is being viewed from strait on
Again I do the line thing, which doesn't show up on the front view (in my style at least; depends on how ya want to draw it)
Then lastly, I line it like before
And just cause I can, here's a picture of both together
So hopefully this was helpful! I've never done tutorial things before so I'm sorry if it isn't the best. But hopefully it's good!
