I don't think I've ever outwardly stated this, but I seem to have a total inability to draw a good picture of the Sapphire Spectre, aka Fae.

Here's the reference image that was hastily sketched as I first designed the outfit: (which is terrible but does its job)

And here's the first time I attempted to draw it in late March: (which is one of the earlier parts but this time you can actually see the blue because I got it at the right angle)

Then I tried again three days later and still wasn't happy with it, so gave up:

And this time, I used a pose reference. As I'm writing this, only the sketch is done, and I'm debating between just greyscale (maybe with blue highlights) or full colour. I'll probably go greyscale because I love the look of blended pencil.

I listened to Be More Chill while drawing this so it gives me signals from the wrong fandom entirely
