Yeah, so, I've been getting into Hermitcraft/Traffic Life Series/EmpiresSMP lately. And by lately I mean this entire past year. I knew cool drawings would inevitably come out of it, and while I did dump a couple back in 'Holy Crap I'm Back' (Part 54), this is the first part specifically dedicated to it. I'm sure it won't be the last part with these fandoms, so prepare for more some time in the future! :D

(Also, I am noticing that (on my end at least) Wattpad squishes my image sizes down and makes the art look all pixelated and grainy, so I'm probably going to try to find somewhere else I can put my art that I can link to so you guys can see it in better quality (if you so please). I'm thinking Tumblr, but if y'all have any other suggestions (other than Twitter (I refuse to call it X. It's literally such a terrible name)), LMK!)

In todays installment of the ArtBook we have:

Grian; Limited Life Edition!

I am particularly proud of the shading in this one, and also find it quite funny that I turned this in for a grade in my art class. Because I did this one in class, this took 20 days to complete, though it only really took, uh... FIFTEEN HOURS?!? How did I even...? Oh. Right. Adobe Illustrator isn't my usual program. Welp. After five-ish times the usual time I would've spent on an art piece, I present you with my current phone lock screen! I've never really been enough proud of my own art to set it as a lock screen, but I really do just love this one, and I'm hoping y'all do, too. :)

Next up we have:

TangoTek; No Specific... Series... ahem— YIPPEE OR SOMETHING!

I really enjoy doing character design, and since this was my first time drawing Tango (fully; I'd doodled him in the margins of my Science notes before), it was very fun to just mess around and figure him out. I always liked the idea of him having little markings and stuffs, but I don't recall ever seeing somebody else do it. I also don't commonly see the goggles, and they've always made my brain happy. I wanted it to feel like a character you might see in a TV show or something (as I usually want my characters to), and I feel like if I took back the lighting from the fire he'd look as so (but I like the lighting, so it's staying). He's jus' a silly lil' scrimblo. :]

And for our final piece we have:

Grian; (Hermitcraft Season 9) CuteGuy Edition!

It probably isn't the actual design I'd use for him if I drew him in the future, but I just wanted to draw him in the moment, so I did! If you couldn't tell, I most certainly did base it off of the Limited Life design that was first to be presented in this part, since I was feeling quite a bit lazy, but I still really like this piece nonetheless. Not likely to be used in the future but still a good design (IMO), is what I'm trying to say. I also wanted to play with colors and tried doing stuff with blue light, since it always looks really cool to me, but I'd never actually used it to an advantage myself (for some dumb reason). Color theory really amazes me, y'know? If you were to color pick his skin tone it would be pink. But it don't look that way, do it? I really like the colors in this one, and also, since I was using thicker lines again (by accident. I was only gonna use the brush for the sketch, but then I started inking with it, and by the time I realized, it was too late), the inking gives me ludicrous amounts of serotonin for an unidentified reason. Happy accidents! :D

Over the course of this year I feel like I've truly found and come to love my art style (though I certainly play with it and experiment a lot). I understand certain elements of art so much better than I used to, and I really am happy about it. So, I've decided that if you guys pick an old piece from this book (anything before 'Holy Crap I'm Back' (Part 54)), I'll attempt a re-draw (if I so please). Obviously, I can decline, but I don't think I will. And, of course, I'll take as much time as I need. Just comment what art piece and what part (the name would be more helpful than the number, that's why I always put both when speaking about them) here and I'll try it! Lets see how things turn out (or not! I might not get any requests). :)
