I love Merlin sm. It isn't ok. And not simply because of her looks.

She demonstrates playful behavior and is apologetic to few (this is mainly seen with Meliodas after she once knocked him out, Escanor, and Arthur.) She enjoys mocking and challenging others, and is sometimes seen using others for magical purposes, as if they were guinea pigs. She is calm and has a passive demeanor, almost never loses her cool which is admirable. All of these^^, honestly such good traits for any characters.

Yet this doesn't mean she is simply flawless.

When younger and when she was still a resident of Belialun (the capital of wizards and a neutral ground between goddesses and demon's.), she was tested on and pushed past her limits as she had rare magic and was a prodigy among wizards at such a young age. They sought to turn her into a weapon. A young child into a weapon. It's disgusting to think about.

And during all this time, she simply wanted to be loved. She yearned to be cared for.

And when she was shown kindness, by Meliodas of course, she simply fell in love. Yet was rejected, because he had already found love with Elizabeth.

And the fact that she was rejected and left heartbroken is saddening. The fact that they stayed friends and could still get drinks is amazing on both of their parts. Maybe I should write a fanfic on their relationships and interactions- that'd be kinda cute.

But!

I don't know, I guess she is relatable. The fact that she was so heart broken the only thing she was left to do was find a way to fill her broken heart. And the fact that she was willing to do anything makes her selfish, and more personable and flawed.

She isn't invincible and is broken yet she still is kind, mischievous, and empathic.

And while I understand she gets sexualized because of what she wears, she really has so much underneath all of that. She is a person with complex thoughts and feelings.

She was well written. UNLIKE ELIZABETH. ugh, I love Ellie. But she was such a woman written by a man. It makes me so mad. And im going to stop. But like,, if you wanna hear me complain about how ellie was written, (I do love her person, she just had a ton of potential wasted, etc.) just tell me in the comments or DM me on wattpad or smthing.
