What did you expect?

Jade Mountain seemed restless, everyone was quite noisy in the Prey Center, there was too many in the halls, according to a specific SandWing. He grabbed his head with his front talon and growled. His claws scratched at his skull mask. He got up, lashing his tail violently, not caring if he stabbed someone on accident with his poisonous barb.

He walked out of the Center, then decided on where to go for peace and quiet. He scratched off the Library, reading wasn't his thing, the Art Cave is where Icefall or Lilly most likely will be, the Music Cave explains itself by the name, and his Sleeping Cave was most likely taken by either Falcon or Nightshade.

He's heard of an underground lake, most SeaWings talked about it, it was where they would hang out at, but they were busy in the Prey Center at the moment.

Scorch followed the passageway he heard of that lead towards the huge cavern. Once he reached it, he admired the beauty in it. The tall stalecites with glow worms, the way the early night sky looked, the lake that reflected the stars that are barely coming out. He admired it all, and mostly due to the fact he was alone.

For the first time, he felt calm. He walked up towards the lake, looking down at his reflection. He looked to the side, sighing a bit. Then, he felt his mask slip. It fell down, and splashed into the water, sinking down. He growled, once the ripples of the water calmed down. He saw his refelection again, this time, it was the face under the mask. He glared at his scars, the one that brought back memories.

He snapped his head away, walking away from the lake, sitting by a few tail lengths away from it. Then he realized it, his mask. His head shot back to the lake, he walked up to it. Standing by the ledge. He bent down, lowering his head under the water. He couldn't see his mask, it was too dark. He brought his head back up growling. He couldn't swim, there was no way he can retrieve it.

"Guess they'll finally see what's under the mask the whole time...." he sighed and began walking away. Then he heard a faint splash, he looked back, seeing a SeaWing crawl out of the lake, something between it's talons. They looked over at Scorch, seeing they've made eye contact. They gasped and looked away.

Scorch looked back down at their talons, seeing they are holding his mask. He sighed and walked over to them. The SeaWing took notice and scooted back a bit. Scorch stood in front of the SeaWing, he looked intimidating, and was quite larger than the SeaWing himself. Scorch looked down at his mask, than raised a brow.

"I, uh, h-here...." the SeaWing handed the mask to Scorch, who took it without a word. He looked down at his mask, ignoring the SeaWing. Scorch say down, the saw the problem. The string that held the mask, preventing it to fall off, had snapped. He growled, grabbing the two ends of the string.

"I-I could get you another string..." offered the SeaWing, Scorch ignored his offer, tiring the string together "Oh! Or, you could do that. Um, your Scorch right?" he asked. Scorch looked at the SeaWing, who was already looking at him.

"Your staring, aren't you." the SeaWing who was caught off guard looked away quickly "I'm sorry, I didn't me-"

"You didn't mean to look at the scars. What did you expect, a normal face like any other? Not everything that's masked looks good, this is what war does to you. And it ain't pretty, it never was." Scorch said flatly, his face showing no emotions, the SeaWing looked back at him, then stared down at his talons "You don't look terrible, you never did. With or without that mask...."

Scorch eyed widened, he looked over to the side, placing his mask back on, then standing up, heading out. "My name is Ripple, the way." Scorch stopped at his steps, looking back to Ripple "Did I ask what your name was?"

"N-no." Ripple stuttered, he winced a bit, looking back to the lake. "Then what gave you the reason to mention your name, if I wanted to know, I would've ask, but I didn't, did I not?"

"No, y- you didn't." Scorch eyed Ripple, then looked front "Thank you, for retrieving my mask, now if you talk about what's behind it, I'll come after you personally, and kill you in your sleep." With that, Scorch walked away, leaving Ripple speechless and slightly frighten.
