if pink diamond was shattered by Rose, Rose could've kept her gem shards or even one, and as we saw in that frybo episode, gem shards can make things come to life and give them powers, and in the most recent episode, buddy's book Rose had a pack of lions in the desert and the male lions looked like a recolor of lion. Now to the point where is the gem shard? I think the shard is in lions mane, hence being able to enter his mane and rose either had a deep connection with one of the lions or she wanted to test it on a animal to see the effects of it. With that she kept it a secret and stored some of her most precious things in lion's mane.
