Surfs are a CLOSED SPECIES, so do not make one without permission. They will be obtainable through adopts, customs (maybe), or if I just give you one (this is highly unlikely however).

Appearance:

Surfs are an aquatic species based on fish and other aquatic animals. They have a thick, muscular build and strong legs and tail. Their bodies are covered entirely in small scales. Their legs resemble that of a quadruped mammal. Their feet have two webbed toes, each with small claws. They have fins that run down the length of their bodies, as will as on their chest and on their elbows. Each have glowing spots that are around their eyes, down their underbelly, and on the lower part of their legs. In an uncommon circumstance, the glowing spots can be on the upper half of the legs or on other parts of the body, and in rare occasions, they can be different shapes that follow the scale patterns.

General Info:

Surfs are hatched from eggs since they are a fish based species. They mature at a rate similar to that of a human. Despite their aquatic appearance, they normally live on the small islands surrounding the main two islands. They have gills on their necks that allow them to breath underwater for an endless period of time, as well as lungs so they can live on land. Their glowing spots can be used as a beacon for other surfs or other species and can help them to see in darker areas. Their spots also help them to attract a mate. They are carnivores who feed mainly on fish, and rarely on small mammals and reptiles that they either catch or obtain through trade.

Abilities:

Surfs have gills that enable them to be underwater for an endless period of time. Their strong tails and legs allow them to zip through the water at high speeds. They have sharp teeth that they use to fight and to hunt. The spots on their bodies illuminate to allow them to find one another and to see easier in the dark. Each surf can suck in a large amount of water and spit out a strong controlled blast, which is used out of the water to down flying enemies or to keep enemies at a distance.

Society:

Surfs typically live in small groups of two to five, each group inhabiting their own island. Sometimes, more than one group will inhabit the same island, so they will spit up the island into territories controlled by each group. The groups live under a democratic rule, where every member has a say in what the group is going to do. Some groups, however, will elect a leader to guide them in certain situations. It is rare, but some surfs live solo lives, where they will wander between the islands and sometimes even visit the main two islands.
Surfs will tend to collect shells and small trinkets they find interesting. Some groups will have large piles of valuables and interesting items that they can trade to the other tribes, mainly the paradi. Some surfs will use the things they find to make jewelry and decorations for themselves or their island.
