Paradi are a CLOSED SPECIES, so do not make one without permission. They will be obtainable through adopts, customs (maybe), or if I just give you one (this is highly unlikely however).

Appearance:

Paradi are a species based off of the Birds of Paradise with added mammalian traits. Each have fur covering most of their bodies, except for the lower half of their forelegs legs and their wings. They do have feathers on their wings, behind their hind legs, and at the tips of their tails. Their forelegs are similar to that of a bird's, with four padded toes on each forefoot, one on the side of each for gripping onto branches. Their hind legs resemble that of a wolves, with three-toed padded paws. The horns on their heads differ in shape from paradi to paradi.
They have somewhat large wings, each around the length of their bodies. Their size allows them to be sustained in flight while still being small enough to maneuver in the forest. Each paradi is around three feet tall and six feet long.

General Info:

Paradi are born by egg, like most avians. They age and mature at a similar rate to humans. When they are young, paradi are normally unable to fly or use any of their abilities. It takes around eight years for their wings to grow to full size. This is not a problem, however, since their villages are built partially on the ground, though some paradi do live in the trees. They choose to inhabit the forests, which they have gained full control over. They are an omnivorous species, normally eating small reptiles, mammals, and insects, as well as some types of fruits and vegetables found in the forest. Some will eat fish on rare occasions when they are obtained through trading with the other species.

Abilities:

Paradi have sharp teeth and claws that they use to fight and to hunt. They have strong wings that allow them to maneuver well in flight, which is useful when flying through the forest. Aside from those, each sub-species of paradi has different special abilities. For example, the ribbon-tailed paradi can fire electric bolts from their mouths, while the King of Saxony paradi can shoot short, balled bursts of fire.

Society:

The paradi live in tribes, each run by a single leader. There are four tribes, referred to as the northern, southern, western, and eastern tribes. The leaders of these tribes are normally chosen by the tribe's current/previous leader. However, if the current leader is killed before they make a decision, the tribe votes on the next leader. Both males and females are able to become leaders.
Paradi are a cultured species, creating things like music and dances. They love to collect things like stones and sea shells and will use them to make jewelry and decorations. They will often trade with other species to get rare items that they would normally not have access to.
