I wanted to attempt another headshot of Conspicio because I didn't really like the last one too much, and I decided to get a bit experimental with the lighting ^_^;

I think it's rather nice though!
I really like the pattern of waves against the seabed, so that's what I was going for here.

I also did some sketches of miscellaneous sea critters

Plus this drawing of a sea urchin, inspired by tuxedo urchins, which like to wear rocks on their heads to protect them from the sun. In reef aquariums they'll pick up random pieces of corals to do this, so a lot of people who keep them as pets just give them little hats instead. It's great.

I also got a lovely shrimp and goby pair last week for my aquarium!  I've been after a pair for ages and I finally got one... for the low low price of $330 lol.  Pistol prawns and watchmen gobies have symbiotic mutualistic relationships with each other, and they're super cute to watch. 

So far here is my impression of them.

Yeah so my goby actually jumped out of my tank through the food hole at one o'clock in the morning, and then a second time at two in the morning 🥴
I have since covered the hole with a heavy object. 

I did genuinely think that it was dead on day two of owning it because I poked it with a stick when it was lying on the sand and it didn't react in any way at all.  It just laid there.. like a dead fish.  Luckily I didn't take it out of the tank because it was up and going about business as usual like six hours later.  (I think it may have had a concussion.)

The pistol prawn is a delight to watch and I have no complaints.

The fish cuddles the prawn with its tail a lot, and it wags its tail when it sees me which is the goby word for "danger" which I think is very rude given our shared history tbh.

I call them "Fish and Chips"
