Eros (ForbiddenVerse, "Forbidden Love")
Above is Eros. He is a version, and based off, of a Lust!Sans. One made for one of my new Multiverses, ForbiddenVerse, and for my story "Forbidden Love" that I am plotting lol.
ForbiddenVerse is not a small Multiverse, however it doesn't have AUs. It's all in one big world, like Earth. Monsters were never trapped in the Underground and there are a lot of Monster Types you could say. Everyone lives within the world.
Magic in this Multiverse is subtle, but no less powerful. No Gaster Blasters for example. Most of their magic is actually locked away within themselves without them even knowing about it. And, as this Multiverse is called "ForbiddenVerse" there are a lot of forbidden things, not just the locked up power. Every character has something, sometimes more than one thing, that is seemingly forbidden to them and/or for them. There are a lot of reasons the Multiverse name and why story is called "Forbidden Love" as well.
Because of magic not being as powerful (or, at least, most of it is locked away unknown to them) while they do have technology, they have created things called "Magical Items". Items enforced, enchanted and/or having magic in them. They are very regulated, although things can slip through the cracks. While you can inherit them you usually need a permit, paperwork and license to own and/or make most of them. Some are simple, thus not needing anything, but a lot can be dangerous. The wings on Eros' back in his costume is a Magical Item; with just a bit of magic, they can turn into real wings - which, by the way, it is illegal for him to actually have, much less use.
Not going to lie, I got the story idea from staying up late and watching a crap ton of Romeo and Juliet movies. Everything from plays, movies, cartoons, anime, things based on it - I went on a total binge on it for some reason. The story won't be exactly like Romeo and Juliet, but it does take a lot of elements from it.
I guess I wanted a dramatic filled forbidden love story. But, while I actually do love the story of Romeo and Juliet, I do not believe in "love at first sight" at all. In middle school, when we went over the book and watched a movie of it (We watched "Romeo + Juliet" and it was hilarious. The setting was so modern and everyone was talking like they were in Shakespearean times like it was totally normal - never mind the fact that they had guns with the word 'Swords' engraved in them. The whole class was dying of laughter throughout the whole thing, talking to the screen as if the characters could hear us, and at the end some were just chanting for Juliet and Romeo to die because we all knew it was coming and more than one person thought they needed more common sense. This coming from middle schoolers.) and after we read and watched it, we all got to debate on what they had was actual love or not, in our own thoughts and opinions. I didn't think it was love. Both characters never really sat down and talked to one another, never got that history or found out their flaws. Never took the time, or had the time sadly, to get to know one another in a deeper level.
I mean, seriously, they barely even knew each other a week (if that) before they deicide "Oh, I'm going to take my own life because I can't live without this person who I barely actually know! It's not like with time, a support system and possibly therapy I'll get over this and move on!". I know it's usually set back in older times (at least the book was), so therapy is off the table more than likely, but even then it's like what the hell? It's like that one video said "You love him? You met him Sunday, it's barely Thursday morning. Slow down crazy. Slow down." (SASSY GAY FRIEND - Romeo & Juliet)
Also, from the same video, "Desperate! Desperate! I am really desperate! Are there any stalkers on my grounds?" made me laugh as honestly, yeah, that's kind of creepy that this guy you just met had the bright idea to sneak onto your property. In today's time if someone did that, that'd be a bright red flag and 9.9 times out of 10 someone would be calling the cops.
They didn't get to know one another in a deeper level in my mind, and in my mind I thought 'How can you love someone when you don't even know them? What goes in their mind and how they tick? How they act and why?' . Some things are a deal breaker when it comes to personality flaws depending on a person, and their own needs and wants (everyone is different after all, and sadly, sometimes love is not enough to stay) - what if down the line you find out that they keep bodies in the closet? Or, in a tamer and more realistic example, find out that they have various mental illnesses that you, yourself, can sadly not handle? There are many reasons, both minor and major, why you may not want to be with someone in a romantic way - or even sexual way too now that I'm thinking about it - despite maybe feeling that way for them or starting to or having that 'spark'.
Now, in the book/movies/plays/whatever version you're reading and watching, I do honestly think they had 'lust at first sight', or at the very least a crush of some kind. Maybe infatuation. A mix perhaps. Something that with time, effort, maturity and growth could have grown into romantic love for sure. But adding in the whole situation (as they say, what you don't have you want, and what is forbidden to you is most exciting) it got blown out of proportion quick, never mind the fact that they are teenagers (and, in the original book, with a very questionable age difference by the way). Their brains aren't fully developed - and even then, not all adults are rational either.
Of course, many people might disagree with me on this. And you know what? That's more than fine! Everyone is allowed their own thoughts and opinions after all. That's the whole point fiction more times than not, to choose for yourself on what it is and means. For me, I might not think it's true love but others might think differently. That's what I love about the story honestly - Shakespeare never once said it was a love story, but a tragedy. And as two young people die before they even have the chance to figure themselves out (or at the least have time to see if they really were in love in my opinion) all for a feud we have no idea why it started, it's for sure a tragedy. That's the only thing we know for certain, that it's a tragedy, the rest is up to yourself.
So, with all that in mind, I wanted to make a story myself based on 'forbidden love' (the concept) and 'Romeo and Juliet'. Inspired by for sure at the least. It'll be it's own story, but it'll for sure have elements from it. As I don't believe in love at first sight, I am going to hold off on my own thoughts about it in the story and do my best about it. I'm not Shakespeare by any means, but I do want people to get sucked into the story one way or another, and I want people to have their own minds about it and honestly question; is it actually love or is it just lust? Did it start as one and end as the other? Or did it just stay the same? Was it worth it?
The pairing for the story is one I haven't ever really seen before in stories. It's a Lust/Reaper, Reaper/Lust pairing! What should this pairing be called? DeadlyLust? LustfulDeath? If you lust for death, wouldn't it be suicide or suicidal? But I don't think I should call this pairing 'Suicide' or 'Suicidal' - sure, it'd be ironic as hell given what this story is based off of and inspired by, but I don't want to trigger people on accident either.
Eros is one of the main characters obviously - a part of the main pairing. Ares, a version of Reaper!Sans, is the other main lead and the part of the main pairing. In the story there will be background relationships going on, along with one-sided loves and minor plots happening in the background with other characters.
In one part of the story, there is going to be a big party, so I made sure to do Eros in what he'll wear there. He has a rather thicc body, as shown in his female ecto-body lol. I also did a small part of him in normal wear too of course. I'll show and explain his character more in the story.
I really look forward to working on this story! I just want to sketch/draw the main characters and important minor characters first before getting started on it. I'll be sure to keep posting them up in my Artbook of course so everyone can get a visual if my explaining doesn't cut it.
I hope that once the story is out, everyone enjoys it as much as I do working on it!
