Start with a stick figure in the pose you want your character to be in.

Erase the stick figure and draw the body you want around the faint stick figure. (I'm doing a female)

Now, you can draw the clothes, just erase where you need to draw the clothes, then draw them in!

Draw the head in.

^ Do a cross like this, and remember the eyes are placed in the middle of the head.

Erase the cross, making sure you can faintly see it, and draw the hair on the head. (Feel free to erase the top part of the head)

Now you can draw the face!

Can't forget the shading!

Some tips for body proportions
- The elbows are placed at the waist
- The end of the hand/nub is in the middle of the thighs
- The eyes are always in the middle of the head
- Shading is (almost) everything!

For example:

The eye would look less realistic without the shading.
