I've noticed this. For quite awhile now. Hear me out.

So, people think the term "fake artists" is a thing. No. If you make art, your an artist. It makes simple sense.

The term "fake artists" is used to describe artists who advertise themselves. Let me explain why that doesn't exist.

The only way to become successful in an art-based community, originally, before you have supporters, is to advertise yourself. How else do you expect to become known? Just wait for supporters? That just doesn't happen. Meaning it's perfectly ok to self-advertise in the art community to become successful.

However, it's often mistaken for "seeking attention". There's no shame in making yourself known in the community where that's pretty much the only way for you to take off.

Asking for subscribers, followers, ect, is perfectly fine. There's no point in not doing it, why miss the opportunity? Getting views on artwork is how people in daily life get carriers and become promoted. There's no shame.

This is just something that's been annoying me. It's been brought to light on YouTube and DA, but I haven't seen the issue pop up on Wattpad. So there.

Can people please stop spamming my message board as well? Please? I promise I'll get to what certain people want soon, you don't have to tell me over and over again on something that I don't use. Please. I promise if you wait I'll get to it. I'm busy and and I don't need constant reminders. Thank you.
