Layer modes can really change things, and a lot of people don't know how to do it. ( I'm using procreate for this.) With Blumenmeer as an example:

Layer mode options are located on the layer tab on the drawing layers, and they are located on the right side of your layers. This is what the colors for Blumenmeer's eye glow looked like without a layer mode.

Layer modes can make a pretty big difference in the color:

Others don't do as much of a difference:

While others make no difference:

However, my favorite is add because it takes light colors and makes them glow and actually look like light:

Which is what I turned out using. But which ones you use are up to you.
