Two weeks later and you were finally back to work. You'd actually missed going into work, being around Nami you didn't realize how much you missed her random chit chatting until you had far too much silence around you. She's visited you almost every day though, when Heat wasn't with you, or taking you to hang out with Kid, Killer and Wire. You had all their numbers and they'd included you in their group chat. It felt nice...having more people to talk to.

You were coming in when you saw Benn talking to some redhead guy, not wanting to disturb their conversation you slipped past to clock in, and start the workday.

"Y/N!!! Yay you're back!!! I missed you!!!" Nami threw her arms around you as you placed your shoulder bag beneath the register.

"You saw me yesterday Nami. You walked in on me and Heat hugging remember?"

"Uh no it was more than a hug. It was a lover's hug." She shivered and made a gagging sound making you giggle.

"What's the difference?"

"The way he looked at you. Like he wanted to be between your legs with his face."

"NAMI!!" You covered her mouth with your hands you could feel the blush creeping on your face! "We haven't done more than kiss and I've already told you that!"

"Really?"

"We just started officially dating two weeks ago!"

She hummed and was about to say something else when she suddenly frowned. You turned to look and saw someone you didn't think you'd run into again. It was the girl that was with Bellamy. You couldn't for the life of you though remember her name.

"Hi welcome. You know what you're looking for or just browsing?" You said when she saw you her eyes turned to slits and she reached over the counter and slapped you across the face.

"IT'S YOUR FAULT YOU BITCH! BELL BROKE UP WITH ME BECAUSE OF YOU!"

What the fuck?!

"Miss I don't know what happened but I'm not with Bellamy. Never was and never will be."

"LIAR!"

Before you could say anything else, Heat walked in with his signature sad smile, but when he saw your red cheek his smile dropped. And he walked over to you, ignoring the chick who hit you and gently taking your face into both of his huge hands.

"Baby what the hell happened? Why's your cheek so red?"

"Hey Heat. It's just a misunderstanding."

He caressed your cheek but gave you a stern look.

"Misunderstanding my ass. This bitch came out of nowhere and slapped you and said Bellamy broke up with her because of Y/N. Which is bullshit!"

Heat's eyes went from a milk chocolate color to pure black. It was the first time you'd seen him mad, it made you a little unnerved, but you still smiled at him. He turned to the girl and she stepped back.

"Miss. I am sorry that Bellamy broke up with you, but you deserve someone so much better than someone who hits women. I'll let the slap slide this one time. If you do it again my fist will be what connects to your nose."

It looked like she was going to cry, but she stormed out of the store, and ran into Benn before stumbling out the door.

"Y/N, why is your cheek red?" Benn asked with a raised brow.

"A misunderstanding and one chance given. I'll be fine. Heat were you looking for something?"

You quickly changed the subject and directed your attention to your boyfriend. He was frowning but sighed and then kissed your cheek.

"I was looking for you. You're coming back part time?"

"For now. Just to watch for their movements my schedule is going to be pretty hectic."

"Can you come over tomorrow?"

"Yeah. I'm off at 1."

He kissed your bruised cheek again nodding to Benn before saying he'd text you later and then he walked out the door.

"You two are so sweet I'm going to get cavities." Nami fake gagged while Benn laughed at the blush on your cheeks.

"Alright girls, get back to work." Benn patted both of you on the shoulder, and then went into his office. Normally Benn didn't need to come into the bookstore, he trusted you and Nami to get things done. However, since Doflamingo had been served he wanted to make sure that he was close to you to make sure you were safe. 

"So Y/N, now that we're friends, you have to come to a party with me. Heat and the guys can come too, they always are a riot."

You mentally winced, while you liked Nami and considered her a friend even Sabo and Koala were fine, the rest seemed a bit too high energy. Kid was too, even Killer could get up there, but Wire's and Heat's more laid back personas helped keep it all balanced. 

"I'll think about it Nami okay?"

"Ugh!!! Fine!! But you actually have to think about it! Hey on our next paycheck we should go shopping."

"I'll pay for gas but nothing else."

"Awe c'mon, you don't want treat your new friend?"

"Except you add taxes to those treats."

The rest of your workday went normal. When it was time to go home, you sent a text to Heat letting him know that you were going to be at your apartment today. 

Heat: Hey, you sure that's safe?

You: The landlord changed the keys and reinstalled a stronger door. Plus, Shakky put in a ring doorbell camera, this way I'll be able to see in real time who it is.

Heat: Can I come over?

You: My house probably has a lot of dust.

Heat: Idc, I want to see you. Please?

You: Okay, but only for a little while, I have a new art project I am working on, and I work better with no one around.

Heat: I get that, I am the same when I'm writing music. How about I bring over some dinner, and we watch 2 episodes of Hack my House.

You: Okay that sounds nice. See you then!

Heat: How about I see you now?

You heard the rumble of a bike, and you couldn't help but smile. When you turned you saw Heat on his bike waiting for you. Getting on the back Heat handed you your helmet and you were off to your place.

{Perona's POV}

Watching Bellamy's ex-bitch slap You had been satisfying to watch. She didn't understand where the change in you had come from. But when she saw him she understood. Somehow you had gotten a man in your life. One that she'd seen before. 

"Who's the guy?" She asked Diamante next to her.

"His name is Heat. He's a mechanic who also teaches kids how to play guitar, piano, violin and the cello. They recently started to date."

Recently? That didn't make any sense. If it had been so recent why did it look like he'd known her for forever?

"So he's artsy like Y/N. She doesn't seem like he would be her type. But then again, she's never had a boyfriend."

"Could that be because you fucked any guy who showed interest in her, because your highly insecure?"

The voice of her bodyguard pissed her off. Bellamy was a big intimidating guy, and no one would mess with her with him around. He had been one of her many conquests that she had taken from Y/N. Not that she ever knew about it. 

Perona, needed Y/N to stay in her lane. If you ever found out just how incredible you were, you wouldn't need her anymore. And Perona knew that this guy needed to go. Thankfully she knew how to get his type in her bed. She moved her pink hair off her shoulder and smirked at Bellamy.

"Happy reunions are about to happen. She'll be so excited to see me that she will devote all her time to me."

"You're fucked up you know that. Your jealously going to bite you in the ass. And sooner than you think."

"If I take away her boytoy, then she's all yours. I'll let you have her this time around."

The red that tinted Bellamy's cheeks just proved that he did in fact still want her bestfriend.

"I don't get paid enough for this shit." Diamante complained.

Perona didn't pay him any attention, she needed to go home and read up on this Heat guy to start her attack.
