Imaginary Response to Covid
I signed up for an art scholarship at my school and I had to do 3 pieces that reflected Covid in some way sooo here's the first; my imaginary response:
Lockdown
I imagined myself as a snow leopard, my favourite animal, and I deliberately drew a sad expression on her face, one of my major emotions during lockdown as I couldn't visit some of my family members and couldn't go out with friends- the closest I got to one of them was yelling out the window and looking down at her from my apartment. Not to mention all the vid calls and online learning. The chicken wire symbolises how trapped I felt and the broken wire near the leopard's face reflects the minority of people who break the rules /covid guidelines and that puts other people at more risk which also makes me sad. I deliberately "broke" the fence near the leopard's face to show the facial expression without having the fence covering it and perhaps reducing the effect and clearness of expression.
Hope you guys are all safe and doing well despite the craziness going on around us. We will get through it, we will make it. Take care ❤️
