The Lovebird and the Blackbird
-Gustav-
I flew Fanghook through a window to an empty room. I quickly turned to check on Arsyn when I noticed she was out cold. I carried her to the bed and pulled the covers over her body.
Just when I was about to leave, I noticed a brown board on the floor. Flipping it over, I gasped. On one side was Arsyn, her hood pulled over her head, a mysterious smile on her face. On the other side was Astrid, her playful grin on her face, her braided hair on her shoulder. At the bottom read:
We're family, and nothing can change that....
Cheesy, but pretty cute.
Gustav, what are you saying? Astrid rejected you, so why not Arsyn? Although she is my age with just a one year gap.....
I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Arsyn groan quietly. I quickly got onto Fanghook and flew out the window.

-Arsyn-
I groaned and opened my eyes. I sat up, using all my might to get off the pillow.
Wait...................WHAT?!?!?!
I was in the forest, not in bed! Which meant someone probably found me (oh Thor they probably saw we crying) and brought me back here.
The first thing that popped in my head was Astrid. Maybe she wasn't such a deep sleeper as I thought she was....... but I have an open window, so maybe someone snuck me in so I wouldn't wake up. I also remember laying on something scaly, so it's probably a dragon rider.
Gods, there's probably a bazillion of those here, including my friends.
My thoughts were interrupted by on a knock on my door. "Come in," I groaned, rubbing my head. Great, now noise gives me headaches. Just freaking great.
Astrid entered, smiling. "Hey sis, how'd ya sleep?"
"You'll never be as good as me, I always was the better sister!" Astrid's voice echoed in my mind. I quickly snapped back into reality and shrugged. "Well today we're all going Dragon Racing, join us?"
Dragon Racing eh, sounds cool. I nodded and got up, ignoring the searing pain coursing through my body.

As we walked into the Great Hall, I felt someone grab me by the shoulder and turned me around.
A boy that looked similar to Snoutlout except taller and skinnier stared at me. "Hey, do you remember anything that happened last night?" I froze once he said that. Was he responsible for how I got back to my room? "Um, all I remember was being picked up and falling asleep on something scaly. Sound familiar?"
He smiled. "The name's Gustav, and yes, I was responsible for bringing you home." He replied, then whispered, "why were crying by the way?"
Dammit, I was hoping he wouldn't ask that.
"It's nothing you should be worried about," I whispered back, starting to back away.
Before I could move, he grabbed my shoulder again and said, "you don't have to lie. If you need someone to talk to, I'll be available. "
Then he let go of my shoulder and walked away, leaving me with a shocked expression on my face.
