Prologue
I ran to my father excitedly, knowing that he may have time for me now.
"Dad, come play with me outside!" I squealed, pulling on his shirt. My father moved my hand away, irritated. "Not now sweetie, maybe another day." And he walked outside, approaching my older sister Astrid, who was swinging her axe around.
I watched as he guided her, teaching her how to throw her axe, hold it in a better position, and striking it forcefully.
I sighed and sat on the floor. Who am I kidding, it's always the same. My parents ignoring me, always promising to spend time tomorrow. And the next day? The same excuse. At least Astrid cared, she remembers I exist. Or at least I thought.

"Wake up blackbird," Astrid's voice called, shaking my shoulder. I opened my eyes, instantly smiling. Blackbird was the nickname she gave me, while I called her Asstie or estraya (Spanish word for star, sorry if I got the spelling wrong)
Today was my birthday, and she was the only one that actually remembers. "Come, I've got a surprise for you."
I followed my sister outside the house, leading me right to the forest. Once we got there, I gasped. A crimson red bird stood on a jagged rock, waiting. Did I mention I adored birds?
Astrid and I crouched near the rock, the bird staring at us in curiosity. "Her name is Rose, beautiful name, don't you think?" I nodded in agreement.
============================
I know what you're thinking, if we cared about each other THAT much, then why did I question it? Well, that's how this came into the picture.
" Hurry up! " Astrid yelled, annoyed. I ran to catch up with her, carrying her axe. Seriously, how DOES she carry this thing? It's WAY to heavy.
Instead of running BESIDE her, I bumped into her back, dropping the axe. She turned around, a frustrated look on her face. "What is WRONG with you!?!?!? Are you trying to break my axe!??! " She scowled, grabbing it from the ground. " Honestly, I wish you NEVER existed. "
-And so there you go, we both changed. Because of her love of axe throwing, her dream of killing a dragon, and following our parents' footsteps, she became a monster.
That night, I stuffed my bag with 3 knives, a pack of fish, a first aid, extra clothes, and my knifeboards. I know what you're thinking, that's my new hobby. I just get a knife, and, surprisingly, started drawing with it. It's pretty much "knife art," plus I'm the only one who knows how to do it.
I crept into Astrid's room, making sure she was asleep. I tiptoed in, taking one last look. "Well, I guess you got what you wanted," I whispered. " Goodbye, Astrid. "
An old guy told me that the docks always had an empty, spare boat at night. THAT'S my ticket out of here.
I pushed to boat with all my might, then jumped on. As it sailed farther away from Berk, I couldn't help but miss Astrid and my parents. Oh well, at least they won't have an extra weight around anymore. "Farewell Berk," I said, and pulled out a map from one of the crates.
And that's how I ended up here, on Castaway Island. Here, anyone is welcome, especially runaways. THIS is my new home, I guess. Hopefully Astrid is enjoying her life now....
