How did you come from that....to this?
-Astrid-
After at least an hour, we finally made it to the forest. Yes, I know, but let's just say things got out of hand.
One hour ago...
"How are we gonna get past THAT," Snotlout said pointing at the archers on the roofs. Just ONE of them seeing us and we'd be all shot down.
"Okay, I suggest we-"
"COMING IN HOT!!!"
And another plan totally ruined by the twins stupidity.
As they zoomed past us, three archers spotted them. They yelled out to the others and got their arrows ready.
"WHOOO HOO!!"
Suddenly, an arrow zipped past the twins.
"AAAAAHHHH!!!"
"Nice job you two, you just got us caught," Snotlout snapped, annoyed.
"It was her fault!" Tuffnut said, pointing to his sister.
"Me?! You're the one who suggested this!!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"Will you two just shut up and start moving already?!?" Snotlout yelled.
Yup, that's pretty much what happened.
After at least 20 tries, we finally got past those guards. Heather then pulled out a map from her satchel.
"The cave should be nearby here. We have to stick to together, there's guards lurking around here."
We nodded and followed her. Finally, we got the a gigantic bush the rocky wall ( remember how Hiccup disguised the cave he and Toothless were hiding inside in Enemy of my Enemy? It's something like that).
"What're we doing here? There's nothing but leaves," Snotlout complained.
Heather removed a few branches, revealing a cave behind it. She smirked, "you were saying?"
Snotlout rolled his eyes as we walked inside. Once we entered, I gasped.
A large population of people were on the other side, most of them wounded. A tall caucasion man walked over to us, "Heather! You made it!"
"I did Larry, and these is the dragon riders I've been telling you about," Heather turned around and gestured to us.
I stepped forward, "is my sister okay?"
Larry frowned, "Arsyn's with the others in the infirmary. Follow me."
============================
-Arsyn-
I stared up at the cavern ceiling, my head on Gustav's lap. We've stayed in that position for Thor-knows-how-long, but we're too relaxed to move. My head had stopped hurting, but I still have a broken ribcage.
The weird part is that Gustav has a broken leg. For some reason, he's not complaining.
The rest of the gang were in the room as well, but most of them had fallen asleep.
I closed my eyes and was about to go asleep as well when Aisha entered the room.
"Someone's here to see you," she said.
"Me?"
"No, all of you."
I tilted my head and saw Astrid, Hiccup, Heather, Fishlegs, Snotlout, the twins, and Eret (I know, I forgot to add him in Wounded News).
Oh no.
-Astrid-
I stared at the group before me, shocked. This wasn't the team that left Berk 3 months ago.
This was a group of wounded teenagers.
But what caught my eyes was my own sister.
Arsyn was curled into a ball on Gustav's lap, her eyes half open. Gauze was wrapped around her forehead, but blood was still trickling down it.
As she turned her head around, I noticed large bags under eyes.
Once she saw me, she croaked, "Astrid?"
Her voice was broken as well.
Because of this war, they all changed. Because of this war, they're all bruised and sore. Because of this war, the glint of happiness in their eyes was gone.
And in their place was hopelessness.
