Part 17:

Next morning around 10, Hospital.

The door burst open and Aman came in rushing with trembling legs. His eyes got teary looking at Arnav, who was lying on the bed.

"Aman Bhai! We found him, Bhai! He is here with us all safe and sound," said Khushi with a tearful bright smile on her face.

Nodding his head, Aman walked towards Arnav.

"ASR!" exclaimed Aman. He rushed to Arnav and hugged him tightly, leaning on him. He broke the hug chuckling after hearing the groaning sound from Arnav. "ASR, I missed you!" said Aman.

Arnav smiled little with moistened eyes. He missed this man too. He never knew when these people became an integral part of his life.

"This is not done, ASR. This is not done! I..., I can't see you like this. I mean..., damn! This is so difficult," cried Aman.

"Aman, relax. He is fine now. He is getting better now. I mean it will take time for him, but he will be fine eventually," said Akash, who has returned from his Mumbai trip. He canceled all his meetings after hearing Khushi yesterday and rushed to Delhi taking an immediately available flight. He couldn't believe it when he heard whatever Khushi said about his brother. But when he saw him alive in front of his eyes, he couldn't stop himself from crying out loud hugging his brother. He knew this type of behavior is not allowed or acceptable around Arnav, yet, he couldn't control himself. It took time for him and NK, who was already there, to believe that their Arnav Bhai is very much alive. He was surprised thinking about Khushi's faith and love for Arnav. He is glad that he believed and trusted her faith. He smiled looking at Khushi who sat beside Arnav's, caressing his hair.

"Jiju is right, Aman Bhai. Don't worry, Arnav Ji will be fine soon. And I'm sure, he will be back to his ASR avatar." Khushi smiled through tears. She continued "But, right now, we have a very important task in our hands. We need to shift Arnav Ji to a safer place. I don't want to take him home, where that creep is roaming freely. I don't want Arnav Ji to come in front of that man before he gets his punishment. We need to be more careful and we should maintain secrecy about Arnav Ji."

"I agree with you Khushi. We need to be more careful," said Aman thinking about possible places. Before anyone says anything Khushi's phone rang with Bua Ji's name. And an idea stuck in Khushi's mind.

"Bua Ji, I will come and meet you in a few hours. I will explain everything to you. Don't worry, I'm fine and I'm not doing any crazy things. You relax," said Khushi.

"But Titaliya, why did you...," Bua Ji was stopped by Khushi.

"Bua Ji, I'm telling you again. Don't worry, I'm not doing anything wrong. I will explain everything to you. Just give me some time. Please trust me," said Khushi again.

"Okay, if you say so. Now, I will drop the call, but please come here and tell me what's going on. I'm getting worried about you. Bitiya," said Buaji with a painful voice. She never guessed that her fluttering butterfly would have a fate like this. "Hai re NandKishore, I am dropping the call. Take care of yourself Khushi."

"Sure, Bua Ji," Khushi said and looked around to see questioning eyes.

"Yesterday Night, I couldn't leave Arnav Ji and go from here. So, I called Nani Ji and asked her if I could be at Bua Ji"s. When she agreed, I called Buaji and told her that I'm in a meeting and I couldn't go home. And also said if I get late I will come to her home. If anyone called her asking about me, she should inform them that I'm sleeping. When she protested, I said I don't want to worry others with my work. So she agreed. But now, she is worried and wants to know why I asked her to do that. So, I told her that I will explain everything," said Khushi.

After that, everyone got busy discussing the place where they should keep Arnav. Arnav wanted to tell them about his mother's garden, but couldn't. He felt helpless. He tried to gain the attention of others to convey his message. But can he? Tears rolled down from his eyes. He never felt helpless like this, not even when his parents left them. He closed his eyes in pain. After a few seconds, he felt soft hands wiping his tears. He looked at Khushi who was smiling with tears in her eyes.

"Everything will be alright Arnav Ji. Don't worry, me, you and we all together will make everything alright. Please don't be disheartened. This is not permanent, Arnav Ji. It's just a phase of life. It will pass. Trust me, everything will be fine. You please take a rest and get well soon. I need you most, Arnav Ji. I can't see you like this," Khushi said in a low voice.

Akash, Aman, and NK looked at Arnav and Khushi before leaving the room to give them privacy. But they know, being in the hospital room, they will not get much-needed privacy. They need to shift Arnav ASAP.

Around Lunchtime, hospital:

"What about the penthouse of AR? Can't we keep Nannav there?" asked NK.

"Yes, we can. But for now, we need to be close to the hospital. What if Bhai needs medical help suddenly? We can't risk that!" said Akash.

"Jiju, can we take help from any doctor? I mean do we have any particular doctor whom we can trust? If we get any doctor then maybe we can convince Dr. Praveen about taking Arnav Ji wherever we want him. What do you say?" asked Khushi.

"We have our family doctor, but how much we can trust him, I don't know," said Akash thinking about possibilities.

"Let's take help from Rudra sir. Maybe he can help us. If he was involved in this then any doctor will help us," said NK.

"Yes, NK is right. Let me talk to him," said Aman dialing Rudra's number.

"I'm feeling terrible seeing Arnav Ji like this. I am feeling like killing that man for making Arnav Ji like this. And I am not going to leave that man. I will make sure Shyam will get his punishment. If killing him with my hands is the deserved punishment then I will do that without a second thought," said Khushi with angry tears in her eyes.

"Hey Khushi, don't think like that. Look, we have Bhai with us. Once he gets well, then it will be easy for us to deal with that man. First, let's concentrate on Bhai. Let's keep him safe," said Akash.

"Thank you so much, sir. Sure, we will wait for you," said Aman. "ACP said he will meet us to discuss things. He also said he knew one doctor whom we can trust. He said he will talk with the doctor and will discuss the possibility of shifting ASR. He said to wait for him."

Evening around 5, hospital:

"Sure, doctor. No problem, I will take care of this patient and I will call you if anything is needed. Trust me, I will take good care of your patient. Thank you for agreeing with us," said Dr. Dev, who was brought by Rudra.

Rudra explained everything to Dr. Dev about Arnav and happenings. And asked his help in keeping Arnav safe till he gets fine. Dr. Dev immediately agreed to this task, promising Rudra about Arnav's safety.

"I'm trusting you, Dr. Dev. But please make sure, he will stay in good surroundings. You can take him. I think by now, his discharge process must be done. I want the patient's wife to sign and clear everything," said Dr. Praveen.

"Sure, Doctor. I will do everything that is needed," said Khushi before leaving for Arnav's room.

Meanwhile in the RM living room, 5 PM:

"Payal, where is your pyaari sanskari sister? I didn't see her around?" asked Dadi.

"Um... she is in the office, Dadi Ji," said Payal, giving evening tea to everyone.

"Office? Which office?" asked Dadi in surprise.

"AR," said Payal doubtfully, not understanding Dadi's questions.

"Why?" Dadi asked.

"What do you mean by why, Subhadra?" asked Nani.

"I mean, why did she go to the office? What's the need? She didn't even return home for two days. Where did she go?"

"She went to work, Maa Ji!" said Mami, not liking her way of talking.

"Work? What work will she have in AR?" Dadi asked, getting angry. But no one knows what to answer. "What experience does she have to work in AR? What's her qualification to understand what work people would do in AR?" enraged Dadi asked, seeing everyone sitting not saying any word. "I can't believe this! Is this how you take care of our family, Devyani? Do you think AR is Gupta sweets? She might have handled her father's business. But AR is not any small shop. AR's turnover is in crores whereas Gupta sweets was in tens maybe hundreds. More than that, who will work 24 hours? Even Akash and Damad Ji are returning home at night? Then what work she is doing which is taking her full day and night? What work does she have in AR, when she doesn't know ABCD? If she was helping Akash, then what is she doing when he is out of the city?"

"Don't talk like that Subhadra, Khushi is an intelligent girl. She learns everything so fast. I'm sure she understands AR's working style. Maybe she is working in Akash's absence to control things till he returns? Don't worry, she can take care of everything. I trust her," said Nani trying to remove the hatred in Dadi for Khushi.

"Oh! She can take care of everything? And you trust her? Before that, first, tell me, how can you allow her to work? Doesn't she have the responsibility of the daughter-in-law? If she goes out, then who will do her work? And from when you allowed the daughter-in-law of the house to go out? How can you allow her to work with other men?"

"Subhadra! You need to change your thinking. Life changed a lot. People are not like us in our youth. Everything changed," said Nani with a strict voice.

"Yes, people are not like us in our youth and everything has changed. People became more money-minded, selfish, and cunning. I was really shocked to see you accepting her as Arnav's wife. How can you Devyani? And after Arnav's death, you accepted her as your daughter and allowed her to stay in this house. For what? For her to roam around freely? To allow her wherever and with whomever, she wants to go? Unbelievable! What will you do, if she takes all the wealth, AR, and RM and runs? Worse than that, what if she takes control of everything and throws us out? Where will we live? On the roads? Begging? Is this how you understand people? I can clearly see her mentality. She is behind Arnav's wealth. She trapped him very nicely. I don't feel shocked or surprised if she is behind his death," said Dadi, spitting venom through her words.

"StOP IT SUBHADRA! How dare you talk like that about Khushi? You don't even know her, so how can you say that? I know her very well and I trust her with everything. Khushi can never do that with us!" said Nani in anger.

"Then what else? It would be good if you don't talk about Khushi without knowing her fully, maa Ji," said Mami with a disgusted expression.

"Enough of everything, I'm leaving for my room. I don't want anyone to talk about Khushi from now on," saying that Nani left from there, without giving any look to anyone.

"I can't believe this! Devyani has completely lost her mind. Remember Devyani, you will regret trusting that girl, that too very badly. Mark my words," shouted Dadi in anger, and left for her room.

Mami took Payal to her room, consoling and telling her not to give any importance to Dadi's words.

:::::::::::::::::::

"Dadi shouldn't have said those words about Khushi Ji," said Anjali.

"Rani Sahiba, don't take me wrong. But whatever Dadi Ji said, I think we should think about that. There are chances for that too," said Shyam carefully using his words.

"What are you saying, Shyam JI? How can you say something like that about Khushi Ji?" said bewildered Anjali, looking at her husband with shocked eyes.

"Today, I heard two lawyers talking about her," Shyam continued looking at Anjali's confused expression. "I mean, one of them was asked to prepare papers stating that Arnav transferred all his property in Khushi's name. I went to them and confirmed with them as if I'm curious to know about one big businessman. You know right that I never used Sale Sahib's name and my relation with Raizada's? That helped me to dig some information with them. And whatever I heard was true. The lawyer got a call regarding this and also was informed that he will get a lump sum of money for doing this. I asked who talked with him. He said ASR's wife - Khushi - herself and asked him to do that work. He was so happy to get that deal. I suggested that he should think before taking up the work. But that's what I heard. How can she do that, Rani Sahiba? She is trying to take the entire property in her name!? Everything is Arnav's and he earned that for you. And if anyone had rights on that property then it should be YOU, Rani Sahiba. After you, it's this family. But she doesn't have any right to take that right from you all. She should take if Arnav or you give her, not like this! She doesn't have any rights. I wish I could have seen this before, then I should have warned Arnav about her!" Shyam said with a sad feeling. His eyes are teared up.

Anjali looked at her husband shocked. She never thought Khushi would turn like this. She thought she was a well-mannered girl with high values and morals. She never expected that Khushi would be behind their property. She sat there thinking about her brother who put his blood and flesh to earn this wealth, who gave them all the luxuries in this world. She can't let some random girl become his wife and take away his hard work. She can never let it go. If needed, she will give all the properties to any NGO or charitable trust, but not to this girl, who betrayed them. They trusted her, they believed her but in return, she cheated them. She can't let this girl win. Anjali sighed in determination.

...to be continued
