"I lose." Khushi whispered. Arnav felt his heart prick at the tone of her voice.

Defeated.

Arnav clenched his fist seeing her crestfallen face as the rest of his group laughed at her.

"I'd told you that you'll not be able to complete the challenge." Aman mocked.

The rest of them chuckled.

Arnav was about to say something when Khushi stood up from her seat and dashed out of the cafeteria.

"She lost from me, didn't she? Who gave you the right to mock her, dammit?" Arnav asked angrily

"Arnie.. What's wrong?" Lavanya asked touching his shoulder

Arnav shrugged her off, "We do this for fun guys. I would never want her to feel like she felt today. She is my feisty kitten and today she.." Arnav sighed irritated.

"I thought you hated her guts." Aman exclaimed surprised.

"You think so? She has defeated me nine of the ten times we've had a competition and yet whenever I have the chance I go back to mess with her, I got back to rile her up, I go back to challenge her. You think I do it because I hate her guts?" Arnav had her eyes wide in mock-surprise.

"I'm sorry to burst your bubble but you don't know me." Arnav said sarcastically.

Arnav ate a chilly from the bowl, and immediately closed his eyes as the spice came in contact with his taste buds.

"Agar iss mein se aadha bhi tum log kha lo na toh mein tumhe uska mazaak udaane se nahi rokunga (if you manage to eat even half of it, I won't stop you from making fun of her.)" Arnav said before following Khushi's trail.

Arnav walked into the compound of the church with an XL tub of vanilla Ice-Cream, for he knew Khushi could only be here complaining about him to her "God-ji" and sure enough he found her sitting under a huge tree mumbling profanities under her breath. Arnav smiled at her childish antics and sat down next to her.

"Hey" Arnav greeted cheerfully. Khushi looked at him disinterested.

"What are you doing here Arnav? I lost to you, I accepted my defeat as well. What more do you want?" Khushi asked

Arnav forwarded the ice-cream tub in front of her "Your tongue must be on fire, eat this it will help soothing the burning sensation." He spoke softly.

Khushi chuckled, "You were the one who wanted me to go through this and now you're trying to soothe the burning sensation? Wow Raizada!!" Khushi shook her head.

Arnav sighed. "I know it was stupid. I didn't realize the chillies were so damn strong. I only meant it as a joke." Arnav defended himself.

"Well.. the joke did work out fine." Khushi said flatly.

"I'm sorry Khushi. I didn't mean to hurt you. I realize that I probably overstepped my boundaries." Arnav hung his head guiltily.

Khushi smiled slightly. "ASR apologising to me. I must be hallucinating." She exclaimed dramatically.

Arnav chuckled. "You're not imagining anything sweetheart. I really did apologise to you." Arnav confirmed.

"Why do you enjoy belittling me?" Khushi asked innocently.

Arnav looked at her bewildered, "No I don't!!"

"Yeah, right." Khushi smiled sarcastically.

"God, Khushi I swear I'd never intentionally want to hurt your self-respect. Today, I made a mistake. I acted stupid. I'm sorry that what I intended as a friendly dare turned into something else. I didn't mean it Khush I had no idea it will turn out this way." Arnav explained almost desperately.

"It's okay." Khushi conceded causing Arnav's eyes to brighten up.

"You're not angry with me anymore, right?" Arnav asked hopefully.

Khushi shook her head with a smile. "No. I'm not."

As soon as the words escaped her lips Arnav pulled her in a bone-crushing hug. "Thank you Khushi. I love you so much!!"

Khushi stiffened, "You.. what?"

Arnav withdrew from the hug, realizing what he had blurted out in a flurry of emotions.

"Khushi.." Arnav looked at her for any signs of resistance.

"I don't want to deny it Khushi, but please don't take me wrong just because.. Khushi you're not upset right?" Arnav asked nervously

"You really.. really do?" Khushi asked innocently.

Arnav nodded, "I do. I really do, from the time I had met you for the first time. I enjoyed your company.. your antics your cuteness. I didn't have the courage to.. to confess because I thought it'll cause you to be wary of me and grow distant. It.. it won't happen right?"

"Ice-Cream toh do. (Give me the ice-cream at least.)" Khushi pouted childishly.

Arnav opened the lid of the ice-cream tub and forwarded it to her along with a wooden spoon.

Khushi smiled eating her ice cream. "You want to know a secret? I love you too.. but don't tell anyone. It's a secret." Khushi said mischievously.

Arnav beamed hearing that, "Seriously?"

"But it's a secret." Khushi said in a hushed tone.

Arnav chuckled "It's our secret."  He promised kissing her nose.

"I love you Khushi"

"I love you too.. but now you'll have to stop troubling me and be a good boyfriend to me or else I will.. I will.."

"You will?"

"I'll feed you a bowl full of chillies." Khushi threatened, looking like an adorable bundle of cuteness while doing so.

"Yes boss!!" Arnav saluted her and pulled her in his arms showering her face with kisses. Khushi giggled. "I love you."

"Forever" Both chorused.
