Yep, I just went straight to the flash- pointed pun again 🤣

Bad jokes aside, thank you all for coming back for another one of these polls because I love hearing all of your opinions ❤

Today's entry is just a bit different because there's basically a gorilla in the room (...Okay, now I'm done. Promise) about a certain character that I've really, really disliked for a long time now and I thought it would be interesting if I shared that stance with all of you, but I would love to hear all of your stances on this specific character in the comments down below :)

(And as always, you of course do not have to have the same opinion as me as long as you share your opinion in a respectful way, of course :)

Author's Opinion:

I've watched and loved The Flash TV show since I was a kid, particularly because I wanted to be like Barry.

I wanted to be the person who was awkwardly sweet (instead of, you know, just awkward) and loving and most of all, I wanted to be the person who believed in the hearts of everyone around me, no matter the circumstances.

But a consequence of me loving that character so much was hating Eobard Thawne's character.

And yeah, I know you're supposed to dislike the villain and all, but I honestly didn't like seeing his character on-screen because not only was he way overused in my opinion, but his condescending and egotistical attitude just drove me crazy.

But after watching the entirety of the eighth season, I realized that I didn't dislike his character. I just hated him because of all the pain he caused my favorite character, especially revolving around the two Noras 😭

Because Thawne was the main antagonist for most of the eighth season and I loved it, regardless of that factor. And honestly, some of his scenes were honestly pretty great (most notably, Eobard's surprising redemption with Mena and all his sections in Armageddon).

In retrospect, I think that I've finally come to acknowledge that without Thawne, we couldn't have the show we have. And I mean, heck, no matter how awful it sounds, Barry wouldn't be Barry either.

So, I guess you could say that I now love to hate Thawne.

Though one expectation I do have if Reverse-Flash does come back for the ninth season is The Flash has to kick his butt one last time 😉⚡
