Lena's POV

Kara stood there, having the audacity to laugh at me. After leading me on, flirting back with me... In all fairness, I'm an idiot, like someone as beautiful as Kara would be single.

5 Weeks Earlier

Kara walked into my office with my favorite Thai food. "You still like me?" "Lena, you went up against your mother. She almost killed Supergirl, again. You stopped her. Of course I like you." Kara paused. "You're beautiful, amazing, kind. Everything about you is pefect..."

Her phone rang. "I have to take this." She answered and stepped onto the balcony. When she came back in she was smiling even brighter somehow. "Sorry about that... It was an old friend, she's coming back to town. Anyways, I got your favorite from the restuarant." Kara pulled out some food containers and slid them across the desk. "Thanks Kara." Lunch resumed normally.

The next day I went to Kara's apartment. I heard feminine laughter from the other side. I knocked. "I'll get it." A woman's voice that wasn't Kara's echoed. The door opened and a woman shorter than Kara with Hazel eyes and Brown hair down to her shoulders stepped into sight.

"You must be Lena. Kara's talked a lot about you, and I mean a lot about you." I blushed and Kara squeaked. "Lucy!" Kara stood up and pulled me into a hug. "Lena, this is Lucy." I noticed the way Kara said Lucy affectionately and my heart throbbed.

"I just came by to see if you wanted to get dinner tonight..." I trailed off, holding back tears. "But you have company, so, I'll see you tomorrow then?" I turned around as tears started to fall. I walked away. Kara said something, but I didn't pay attention. I wiped my tears away by the time the elevator reached the first floor.

Kara obviously had feelings for Lucy. I grabbed a bottle of scotch when I got home. I drank it without a glass.

I nearly snapped a week ago when she cut lunch short because of Lucy.

Kara walked into my office with lunch and something in a box. She gave me the box first. "I got this framed a couple days ago." She told me after I opened it. It was a picture of her and I sitting next to each other on the couch. Kara was leaned over, kissing my cheek, my face bright red.

I smiled. "Thanks Kara." "Anything for you Lena." She blushed. "I mean... Because I like you." I felt my face heating up.

"As a friend... Not more... Because that would be weird... Not that I think liking you like that would be weird... Not that I haven't thought of you like that."

I raised a questioning brow. "I'm just going to stop talking now."

Her phone started ringing. Her face brightened. "Lucy, hey..." She covered the mouth piece. "Sorry, can I use your balcony?" Hiding my jealousy as best as I could, I nodded.

Seconds later, Kara ran back in. "I have to go, Lucy needs me." She ran out of the room.

I told Jess to block all calls for the rest of the hour. I put the picture Kara gave me face down in a drawer. I started crying. Kara is obviously in love with Lucy, why else would she drop everything?

...

That all leads back to today when I finally snapped at her. When Kara came over with lunch and some kale chips to make up for missing lunch yesterday.

"Lena, sorry I couldn't make it yesterday, Lucy needed some more help... Do you want to get dinner tonight, just you and me?" Anger flared through me. "No, Kara, I don't." She looked sad. "Not after you lead me on for so long while being in love with Lucy!" Kara stared at me... Then burst into laughter.

Present Time

"You think I'm in love with Lucy? You dummy! I had a crush on her, I'm in love with you!" She says before clapping her hands over her face. She turns bright red. "You're... In love... With me?" I ask, not believing my ears. She nods, still bright red. "Of course I do. You're perfect." "No, I'm not, I'm a Luthor, you deserve better than me." "Lena, don't do that to yourself."

Kara walks around my desk. I was already on my feet by this point. She cups my face and my stomach flip-flops. I close the distance and press our lips together.

We parted for air. "Do you want to get dinner with me tomorrow? Like a date?" Kara asked nervously. "I'd love to Kara." She smiled.

A/N: I have something special planned for the next story, i won't reveal anything until I publish it.

It will be a multi-chap work and it will be long chapters.

After I'm done with it, I'll write some SnowBarry oneshots.
