I Quit
September 2026
The Batcave, Wayne Estate, Westchester
The Batcave was silent. Y/N sat on the front of the Batcomputer, deep in thought, the events of the past few days weighing heavily on his mind. The incident with Two-Face had been close, too close, and he couldn't shake the image of Dick, battered and bruised, from his thoughts.
Dick, dressed in his Robin uniform, paced back and forth across the cave. The tension between them was palpable, each step echoing the unspoken words and unresolved anger.
Dick: This isn't fair, Y/N. You can't just ground me like I'm some kid! I'm 17!
Y/N: Dick, you disobeyed a direct order. You put yourself and others at risk.
Dick: I saved lives! Isn't that what we're supposed to do? Or am I just here to follow your every command?
Y/N: It's about discipline and knowing your limits! You can't just rush into danger without thinking!
Dick: You don't see me as your son, do you? I'm just a sidekick...a soldier to you.
The words hung in the air, a painful truth that Y/N struggled to deny. Lately, he hasn't been focusing on being a father to Dick. He stood up, facing Dick, his expression a mix of anger and sorrow.
Y/N: Dick, I care about you more than you'll ever know. But this... this isn't just about you. It's about the mission, about protecting everyone
Dick: You don't get it. I can't do this anymore. I won't.
Y/N: What are you saying?
Dick takes off his mask and throws it on the ground
Dick: I'm saying I quit. I'm done being Robin
The statement hit Y/N like a punch to the gut. He had feared this moment, but he never thought it would come to this. He reached out, but Dick stepped back, the distance between them growing.
Y/N: Dick, son...
Dick: No, Y/N! I'm done. I need to find my own path, away from your shadow.
With that, Dick turned and left the Batcave, leaving Y/N standing there, feeling more alone than ever. The Batcave, once a symbol of their partnership and shared mission, now felt like a hollow, empty space
Y/N already had a lot on his plate. Wilson Fisk decided to drop his Mayoral campaign, but he didn't give up that easily. Instead, he decided to back Quincy Sharp, the former warden of Arkham Asylum, as his Deputy Mayor while Sharp ran for Mayor. Sharp's platform focused on rehabilitation and reform, presenting Fisk as a reformed man who had turned over a new leaf. But Y/N wasn't buying it
The Next Day...
Wayne Enterprises, Downtown Manhattan
Y/N sat in his office, dressed in a sharp three-piece suit, poring over the morning newspapers. The headlines were dominated by Quincy Sharp's mayoral campaign, heavily backed by Wilson Fisk. Every detail was dissected, and Y/N absorbed it all, looking for any information that could help him understand their next move
The door to his office opened, and Kate walked in, her expression a mix of frustration and concern. She had been quiet all morning, but it was clear she had something on her mind.
Kate: We need to talk.
Y/N looked up from the papers, his brow furrowing slightly.
Y/N: What's wrong?
Kate: Don't give me that shit. He left us, Y/N. The boy we raised, the one we trained... he walked away. And it's tearing us apart.
Y/N: I know. Believe me, I know. But he needed time. He was angry, and maybe he had a right to be.
Kate: Time? Y/N, he's out there, alone, feeling like we don't care about him. This isn't just about him needing space. This is about us failing him
Y/N: I never wanted him to feel that way. I thought I was doing what was best for him, keeping him safe.
Tears start forming on Kate's eyes
Kate: Keeping him safe?! By treating him like a soldier? He's not just our sidekick, Y/N. He's family. And now, with everything happening, it feels like we're pushing each other away.
Y/N stood up, walking over to her. He placed his hands on her shoulders, looking into her eyes.
Y/N: Kate, I know I've made mistakes. I know I've pushed him too hard. But we can fix this. We can bring him back. We just need to show him that he's more than just Robin. He's our son.
Kate: I sent him a text message. We're meeting for lunch
Later that day...
Y/N and Kate waited in a small café, the atmosphere tense but hopeful. They had agreed to meet Dick here, away from the chaos of their vigilante lives. After a few minutes, Dick walked in, looking angry but willing to talk.
Y/N: Dick. Thanks for coming.
Dick: I almost didn't. But... I'm here. So, what do you want to say?
Kate: We're sorry, Dick. We never meant to make you feel like you were just a soldier. You're family. We love you, and we want to make things right
When Y/N first introduced Dick to Kate years ago, she was skeptical. She wasn't ready to be a mom just yet, unsure of how to handle the responsibilities and emotions that came with it. But over time, she managed. She grew to love Dick as her own, and the bond they developed became one of the most important parts of her life...even if she was barely 25-years-old
Dick: I get it. You were trying to protect me. But I need to know that I'm more than just Robin to you.
Y/N: You are, Dick. You're our son. And we're going to prove that to you. We're going to be a family, not just a team.
Kate: When Y/N first brought you into our lives, I wasn't sure if I could be a mom. But you showed me how to love, how to care, how to fight for something bigger than myself. You're not just a sidekick or a soldier. You're our son, and we're here for you.
Y/N and Kate sat silently, their eyes locked on Dick as he took in their words. He appreciated their sincerity, but he also knew what he needed to do for himself.
Dick: I appreciate everything you've done for me. I really do. But... I need to find my own path. I need to step out of your shadow, Y/N. It's not that I don't love you or respect you. It's just... I need to be my own man.
Y/N: I get it, Dick. More than you know. I've always wanted you to become the best version of yourself. If that means stepping away from New York and from us for a while, then I support you.
Kate: We both do. Just promise us you'll stay safe. And that you'll come back to visit. You'll always have a home with us
They all stood up, and Y/N pulled Dick into a tight hug, followed by Kate. It was a bittersweet moment, but also one filled with hope and love. Dick was ready to spread his wings and become the hero he was meant to be
Wayne Manor, Westchester
As Dick packed his bags and prepared to leave, Y/N and Kate watched with a mix of pride and sadness. They knew this was the right decision for him, even if it meant they would see him less often.
Y/N: He's going to do great things. I can feel it.
Kate: He already has.
Dick waved one last time before stepping out the door. He had a world to explore and new challenges to face. But he knew that no matter where he went or what he did, he always had a family to come back to in New York
Y/N wraps his arms around Kate
Y/N: They grow up so fast, don't they?
Kate chuckles
Kate: Yeah they do...
...
A couple of months later...
Hell's Kitchen
The streets were alive with chaos as a young man, barely fifteen, sprinted down the alleyways with a bag full of money clutched tightly to his chest. The red hoodie he wore obscured his face, making him just another shadow in the night.
But as he turned a corner, he stumbled upon a sight that froze him in his tracks: a brutal showdown between Batman and the Joker. The Joker, clad in a menacing mech suit, was clearly dominating the battle. Batman was struggling, barely holding his ground against the barrage of attacks.
The boy's heart pounded in his chest as he watched the Joker raise a massive machine gun, aiming it directly at Batman. Instinct kicked in, and without thinking, he darted forward, grabbing Batman and yanking him out of the path of the deadly bullets
Joker: You'll never get me, Batman. AHAHAHAHA!
Civillian: WILL YOU CATCH THAT MOTHERF-
The gunfire roared, tearing through the space where Batman had just been. The Dark Knight looked up, surprised to see the young boy standing there, breathing heavily, but unharmed.
Joker: Looks like Bats found himself a new boy wonder!
As Batman stays down, the boy took a deep breath and grabbed Batman's grappling gun. His hands shook, but he knew he had to act quickly. With a swift motion, he fired the grappling hook, aiming it at the base of the Joker's mech suit. The hook latched onto the suit, and the boy used all his strength to slide under it, pulling the Joker off balance.
The Joker stumbled, the heavy suit crashing to the ground with a thunderous clatter. The boy seized the moment, pulling out his pistol and aiming it directly at the Joker's head
Just as he was about to pull the trigger, a batarang whizzed through the air, striking the pistol and knocking it from his hand. The boy turned, startled, to see Batman struggling to his feet, his eyes locked onto him
Y/N: Don't pick it back up
The boy hesitated, his eyes darting between Batman and the Joker. The Joker, now on the ground and disarmed, looked up with a sinister grin, seemingly unfazed by the situation
Joker: Don't worry, kiddo. I always remember a face!
Batman, without a moment's hesitation, stepped forward and delivered a powerful punch to the Joker's jaw, knocking him out cold
A couple of minutes later, the boy found himself in the back of a patrol car, the adrenaline of the night's events still coursing through him. Batman had returned the stolen money to the convenience store owner and now stood talking with Commissioner Gordon as the boy in the red hoodie watched them from within the car.
Gordon: So... he saved you because he was stealing from a store?
Y/N: Sort of. You should keep an eye on him, Jim
...
A week later, Jason found himself walking out of the juvenile detention center, feeling a mix of relief and uncertainty. His release had been expedited thanks to a new Wayne Enterprises program aimed at rehabilitating wayward students. The program offered to pay for their education, provided they stayed out of trouble and followed a strict code of conduct.
Jason: Okay...don't screw up.
(Played by Jaeden Martell)
November 2026
Determined to make the most of this second chance, Jason threw himself into his new life with fervor. He started volunteering at a local homeless shelter, serving soup and offering a helping hand to those in need. The gratitude and smiles of the people he helped gave him a sense of purpose he had never felt before
At Midtown Middle School, Jason's dedication and hard work caught the attention of the football coach. Despite being a freshman, Jason's speed, agility, and determination earned him a starting position as a running back.
His days were filled with a balance of school, football, and volunteering, and each night he would fall into bed exhausted but satisfied. The structure and support from the Wayne Enterprises program had given him a new chance, and he was determined not to waste it
One Friday night, after a particularly intense football game where Jason scored the winning touchdown, he sat in the locker room, catching his breath and basking in the team's victory. His coach patted him on the back.
Coach: You've got a bright future ahead of you, Todd. Keep up the hard work.
Jason: Thanks, Coach. I won't let you down.
As he walked home, the city lights twinkling around him, Jason couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and hope. However, as he was walking, he felt a shiver down his spine. Jason turns around to see...Batman. He then throws Jason a box, saying:
Y/N: This is a one-night tryout. Let's see if you can do something other than steal
Jason's eyes widened as he opened the box to reveal the Robin uniform. The iconic red, green, and yellow costume seemed to glow under the streetlights. He looked up at Batman, his expression a mix of shock and determination
Jason had been given a second chance before, and now it seemed he was being offered another one, this time, by the Dark Knight himself. He took a deep breath and changed into the uniform, feeling a strange sense of belonging as he donned the cape and mask
Jason: Let's do this
Y/N: Follow me.
Batman turned and grappled up to a nearby rooftop. Jason, now Robin, followed, his heart pounding with excitement and fear. They moved through the city with ease, Batman leading the way and Robin doing his best to keep up.
Jason: This is so cool! Hey, wait up!
Jason struggled to keep pace with the superhuman figure in front of him. Running was part of his routine as a running back, but Y/N seemed unstoppable, moving with an effortless grace and stamina that astounded him. As they leaped from rooftop to rooftop, Jason couldn't help but think, "How does he do this every night?"
Y/N: Keep it up, Robin
Jason: I'm...I'm trying!
They continued their pursuit through the city, the wind whipping past them as they navigated the urban landscape. Jason's legs burned and his lungs ached, but he pushed through, determined not to let Batman down
Y/N: We're almost there. The warehouse is just ahead.
Jason: Warehouse? What warehouse?!
Jason sighed, gritting his teeth and pushing himself harder. They finally reached the rooftop overlooking the warehouse. Batman crouched down, surveying the area below
Y/N: This is it. Remember, stay close, watch my back, and follow my lead. Don't do anything stupid
Jason: Got it.
They descended into the warehouse, moving silently through the shadows. Inside, they found a group of criminals packaging drugs, their faces illuminated by dim, flickering lights. Batman signaled for Jason to flank them, and they moved into position
Y/N: Now.
They sprang into action, Batman taking down the first thug with a swift, precise strike. Jason followed suit, using his agility and training to incapacitate another. The criminals fought back, but the duo worked seamlessly, their teamwork evident despite it being their first mission together.
On the opposite of his predecessor, Jason fought more aggressively. Raised in the streets, he had a raw strength and tenacity that Dick's elegant, acrobatic style lacked. Jason's punches landed with a brutal efficiency, and his movements were quick and decisive
Jason: This is more like it!
Y/N: Stay focused, Robin!
Jason nodded, but his fighting style remained fierce. He ducked under a thug's swing and delivered a powerful uppercut, sending the man sprawling. As another criminal lunged at him, Jason sidestepped and used a baton to trip the attacker, following up with a swift kick.
Y/N: That's the last of them.
Jason takes a deep breath, adrenaline pumping through his veins
Jason: We did it. Goddamn I can't believe I did it...
As they left the warehouse, Jason couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment and belonging. The city lights twinkled around them, and for the first time, he felt like he was exactly where he belonged
After a while, Y/N and Jason were on a rooftop, eating cheeseburgers...a sight one wouldn't typically associate with the Dark Knight.
Jason: This...this is awesome. I didn't think Batman did stuff like this.
Y/N: Sometimes, even Batman needs a break. Plus, you earned it.
Jason: Thanks. So, what now? More training tomorrow?
Y/N: Training, patrols, and school. That is...if you want it...
Jason looks out at the city
Jason: It's weird. A few months ago, I was just trying to survive. Now, I'm out here, fighting crime with Batman. It's like a dream.
Y/N: It's a responsibility, Jason. Being Robin isn't just about the thrill. It's about helping people, making a difference. You've got a good heart. Just remember why you're doing this.
Jason: I will. I promise.
They continued eating in comfortable silence, the bond between mentor and protégé growing stronger with each passing moment. The city below buzzed with life, but for now, on this rooftop, it was just Batman and Robin, sharing a rare moment of normalcy amidst the chaos of their lives
After dinner, Jason heads back to his home in the Bronx with Y/N in the Batmobile
Y/N observed the precarious situation of the apartment complex with a sinking feeling. The walls were covered in graffiti, and the stench of garbage and neglect was overwhelming. Shadows moved in the corners, and the unmistakable signs of drug dealing and addiction were everywhere. Jason shifted uncomfortably, avoiding Y/N's gaze
Y/N: You live here?
Jason: It's not so bad. Better than the streets, right?
Y/N: This isn't right. You deserve better than this.
Jason: It's all I've got.
Y/N: Not anymore. You're coming with me.
Jason: What? You mean... like, live with you? Like...in Transylvania?
Y/N just smirks as he steps his foot on the gas
...
As they arrived at the Batcave, Jason's eyes widened in awe. The space was filled with high-tech gadgets, powerful computers, and the vehicles, including the Batwing. The walls were lined with various suits and equipment, each one designed for different missions
Jason: This place is amazing... It's like a superhero's dream.
Y/N: Welcome to the Batcave. This is where we operate, plan, and train. Everything you see here is designed to help us fight crime and keep the city safe.
Jason walked around, taking in the sight of the Batwing, the Batcomputer, and the different suits on display. He could hardly believe he was actually there, in the legendary Batcave.
Jason: So, this is where you do everything?
Y/N: Pretty much. And now, it's where you'll train and prepare for your missions. There's a lot to learn, but I know you can handle it
As Jason continued to explore, Alfred approached, carrying a tray with two glasses of water.
Alfred: Master Wayne, I see you've brought a guest
Jason's eyes widened as he realized the full weight of the situation.
Jason: Wait...you're Y/N Wayne? The billionaire?
Y/N nodded, his expression serious. He takes off his cowl and shows his face to the new Robin
Y/N: This is who I am, Jason. Both Batman and Y/N Wayne. It's important for you to understand the responsibility that comes with this life.
Jason: Wow... I had no idea.
Y/N: Now you do. And it's crucial that you keep this secret. Not just for my sake, but for everyone's. This isn't just about fighting crime...it's about protecting the people we care about
Kate stepped out of the cave's elevator, her eyes landing on Jason with an incredulous expression.
Kate: Oh, you have got to be shitting me.
Jason looked between Y/N and Kate, unsure of how to react.
Y/N: Kate, this is Jason. Jason, this is Kate. My girlfriend...
Kate crosses her arms
Kate: Another one? Didn't we just go through this with Dick?
Y/N: I know, but Jason's different. He saved my life, Kate. And he needs our help.
Kate: So, what is he? The new Robin?
Y/N: He's got potential. And he needs a place where he can grow, where he can be more than just a kid on the streets.
Kate: Fine. But this is your project. Don't expect me to be a babysitter.
Y/N: Wouldn't dream of it.
Kate: Welcome to the team, Jason. Just... try not to die, okay?
Jason: I'll do my best.
As Kate walked away, Y/N turned back to Jason.
Y/N: Don't worry about her. She's just protective. Once she sees what you can do, she'll come around
...
A couple of weeks later...
Wayne Enterprises, Downtown Manhattan
Y/N sat in his office at Wayne Enterprises, reviewing the latest suit prototypes that Lucius had developed. The designs were sleek, with improved armor and enhanced mobility. As he examined the blueprints and materials, he couldn't help but think about how these new suits could improve their effectiveness in the field.
Lucius: I see you've been going over the new designs. What do you think?
Y/N: They're impressive, Lucius. The lightweight material and increased flexibility are exactly what we need. Jason's going to need one of these soon.
Lucius: I'm glad you like them. We've integrated some new tech as well. Advanced communication systems, better HUD, and enhanced stealth capabilities. Also, you can move your neck much more freely now, Mr. Wayne.
As Y/N and Lucius were discussing the suit prototypes, the door to the office swung open, and a tall, blonde man in his late twenties walked in with a playful grin on his face. He had a confident swagger, dressed in a stylish yet slightly rugged manner: dark jeans, a green leather jacket, and a pair of black boots. His Van Dyke beard was neatly trimmed, giving him an excentric charm
???: Well...if it isn't the skirt-chasing dickhead from Yale...
Y/N looked up, his eyes widening in surprise and then breaking into a smile.
Y/N: Ollie?
(Played by Alexander Ludwig)
Oliver: Been a while, hasn't it?
Oliver Queen, the billionaire playboy from Los Angeles, chuckled as he approached, extending a hand in greeting. His piercing blue eyes sparkled with mischief, a stark contrast to the serious expression that Y/N often wore
He had been through a lot since their college days. Right after Thanos' snap, he was one of the few remaining from the half that survived. However, his life took a drastic turn during one of his trips with his father. The Queen family jet was struck by lightning and crash-landed on a deserted island. Oliver spent five years on that island, forced to learn survival skills and turning himself into a completely different man
Y/N: Too long. What brings you to New York?
Oliver: Oh, just passing through. Heard you were making waves in the business world and thought I'd drop by to see how the old Yale buddy is doing.
Y/N: Always the comedian. Seriously, though, it's good to see you
Oliver: We got a lot of catching up to do...
...
Meanwhile...
Xavier Institute For Gifted Youngsters, Westchester
The Danger Room
The high-tech simulation room was alive with action as Jason, now donned in his Robin uniform, trained with some of the X-Men. The holographic environment shifted around them, presenting a series of obstacles and challenges designed to push the trainees to their limits. Right now, Jason was sparring with Logan, also known as Wolverine
Logan: Come on, bub. Show me what you got.
Jason: Don't hold back, old man.
Logan lunged at Jason with his claws retracted, moving with the agility and ferocity of a predator. Jason dodged swiftly, using his acrobatic skills to evade the initial attack. He countered with a series of quick punches and kicks, each strike aimed to test Logan's defenses.
Logan: Not bad, but you're gonna have to do better than that
Jason leaped up, grabbing his staff and swinging around to hit Logan. Logan blocked the kick and countered with a swift punch that Jason barely managed to evade.
Jason: You're not bad for an old guy.
Logan: And you're not bad for a kid. But you still got a lot to learn.
They continued their sparring, Jason learning more with each passing moment. Logan's harsh but fair guidance was pushing him to his limits, and he was rising to the challenge
After that, Jason saw an opening and went for it, landing a solid blow to Logan's face. However, the impact on Logan's adamantium skull sent a sharp pain through Jason's hand
Jason: Ah, damn!
Logan: Not bad, kid. But you gotta remember, I ain't made of regular stuff.
Jason looks down, nursing his hand
Jason: Yeah, I noticed.
Logan: Come on, let's get that hand checked out.
They walked over to the side of the Danger Room where the first aid kit was kept. Logan handed Jason an ice pack and some bandages.
Logan: You did good, though. Landing a hit on me ain't easy. But you gotta remember...I'm not built like you
Jason: I'll keep that in mind for next time.
Despite the pain, Jason felt a sense of accomplishment. Training with Logan was tough, but it was making him stronger and more resilient
After his training session, Jason headed to the locker room. He took a shower, letting the hot water soothe his sore muscles, and changed into some fresh clothes.
He was enjoying his time at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, taking part in the cultural integration program to understand mutants and Charles Xavier's vision. In the short time he had been there, he had made some good friends: Kitty Pryde, a young mutant about two years older than Jason, and Bobby Drake, a mutant with ice powers, about four years older than Jason.
As Jason walked into the school's hallways, Bobby noticed his bandaged hand.
Bobby: Whoa...what happened to your hand?
(Played by Nick Robinson)
Jason: Punched Logan... can you blow some ice here, Frozone?
Bobby laughed, extending his hand and forming a small ice pack.
Bobby: Here you go. But man...punching Logan? You're lucky you didn't break your whole arm.
Jason: Yeah, well, I managed to land a hit, so I'll take the win.
Kitty: You're braver than me. I wouldn't want to spar with Logan
(Played by Isabella Sermon)
Jason turned to see Azari, another student at Xavier's School and the son of Storm, walking up to them with a friendly grin
Jason: Hey, Azari. Just telling them about my match with Logan.
Azari: You went toe-to-toe with Logan? And survived?
Kitty: He even managed to land a hit.
Azari: Impressive. So, what's the plan for the rest of the day?
Kitty: I'm going out with Ilyana and Roberto...you guys wanna come?
Bobby: Sorry Kitty...but I gotta study tonight...I wont let Hank's science quiz get to me
Kitty shrugs
Kitty: Your loss.
She looks at Azari
Kitty: And you, 'Zari?
Azari: I'm going on a field trip with my mom. Sorry...
Kitty: Jason, what about you?
Jason looked around at his friends, feeling a sense of belonging despite the constant challenges.
Jason: Actually, I'm free. Could use a break after today's training. Where are you guys headed?
Kitty: We're just going to hit up the mall, maybe catch a movie. Nothing too crazy.
Jason: Sounds good. Count me in.
Kitty: Great! Meet us at the front gate in an hour?
Jason: Sure thing. See you then
Despite the friendships he had formed, Jason couldn't ignore the glances and whispers from some of the other students. They looked at him differently, seeing him as an outsider. He wasn't a mutant, and that set him apart in a place where being different was the norm
An hour later, as he met Kitty at the front gate, he pushed those thoughts aside, focusing on the positive
Kitty: Ready to go?
Jason: Definitely. Let's have some fun
...
Rikers Island, East River
Kate arrived at Rikers Island, her mind heavy with unresolved anger and resentment. Eleanor Bishop had been imprisoned since Christmas 2024, and the years had not softened the pain Kate felt from her mother's betrayals. As she approached the visiting room, Kate took a deep breath, readying herself for the encounter
Kate sat at one of the tables, her fingers drumming nervously on the surface.
After that, Eleanor entered the room, wearing a prison jumpsuit, her face lined with the wear of her incarceration. She was still striking in her own way, but her demeanor was subdued.
Eleanor: Kate.
Kate: Mom...you wanted to see me. Here I am...
Eleanor: Yes...yes, I did. I wanted to tell you...I have cancer
Kate's eyes widened in shock, her emotions quickly shifting from anger to concern. She stared at her mother, who looked older and more fragile than Kate had ever seen her
Kate: Why didn't you tell me sooner?
Eleanor: I didn't want to burden you. And honestly, I wasn't sure how you'd react. I know I've done a lot to hurt you, and I didn't want to add to that pain
Kate: I...I don't know what to say.
Eleanor: I'm sorry for everything, Kate. I wish I could change the past. I wish I could undo all the hurt I've caused. But I can't. All I can do now is ask for your forgiveness... even if it's too late.
Kate: You've hurt a lot of people, Mom. You've hurt me more than you can imagine.
Eleanor: I know. And I'm so, so sorry. I never wanted things to end up like this. If there's any way I can make things right... anything at all... please, let me know.
Kate: I... I don't know if I can forgive you right now. Maybe one day, but... it's hard.
Eleanor: I understand. I just wanted you to know. And... I hope, before the end, we can find some peace.
Kate sat in silence, her mind racing. She knew that this was a moment she would never forget, a moment that would force her to confront feelings she had been trying to push away. As she looked at her mother, her heart was heavy with a mixture of sadness and unresolved conflict.
Kate: I need to go. I... I need some time to process this.
Eleanor: Of course. I understand
As she reached the exit, she leaned against the wall, allowing herself to cry openly. Her emotions were a tumultuous mix of sadness, anger, and a deep sense of loss. The weight of her mother's confession and the unresolved pain of their relationship felt almost unbearable.
Finally, she pulled herself together and walked out of the prison, the cold air of the outside world hitting her face. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. The tears had stopped, but the heavy emotional burden remained
...
Wayne Manor, Westchester
Kate returned home, her emotions still raw from the visit to Rikers Island. The normally comforting ambiance of their apartment felt distant as she walked through the door.
Y/N was in the living room, working on some paperwork, but he immediately noticed Kate's somber expression. He stood up, his concern evident.
Y/N: Hey Kate. How did it go?
Kate: Not well.
Y/N approached her, his eyes filled with worry. He took her hands in his, guiding her to sit down on the couch.
Y/N: What happened?
Kate: She... she has cancer. I don't know what to do.
Y/N: I'm so sorry, Kate. That must be incredibly hard.
Kate nodded, tears finally spilling over as she leaned into Y/N for support. He wrapped his arms around her, offering a silent but powerful comfort.
Y/N: We'll get through this together. Whatever you need, I'm here for you.
Kate: Thank you. I just... I don't know how to process this. I'm so angry and hurt, but now I feel so lost.
Y/N: Is there anything I can do to help? Doctors, experts...whatever you need.
Kate looked up at Y/N, her eyes still glistening with tears. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself.
Kate: Maybe... maybe getting her the best doctors would help. I don't know if it will change anything, but at least we'd be doing something.
Y/N: Consider it done. I'll contact the top oncologists in the country and see what we can do. We'll give her the best chance possible.
Kate: Thank you, Y/N. I know it's complicated with everything she's done, but I don't want to live with any regrets.
Y/N: I understand. Family is complicated, but you're doing the right thing. Just remember, you're not alone in this.
Kate: I know. And I'm grateful for that. For you.
Y/N: Always, Kate.
He pulled her into a comforting embrace, knowing that no matter what happened next, they would face it together.

Wilson Fisk's Penthouse, Chelsea
Wilson Fisk and Quincy Sharp sat in the penthouse, the city's skyline stretching out behind them
Fisk: I was approached by a woman. She explained that she represented a powerful man who could help you become Mayor. All you need to do is make a new prison...a bigger one. Then...we'll throw all kinds of scum in there. Thieves, murderers...vigilantes...
Sharp leaned forward, his eyes gleaming with ambition and curiosity.
Sharp: A new prison? And who is this powerful man? Why would he be so interested in my campaign?
Fisk: His name is irrelevant for now. What matters is his influence and resources. He sees potential in your leadership and believes that with his backing, you can reshape this city. The prison is just the beginning.
Sharp: A bigger prison, you say. And what about the public? They won't just accept a massive new facility without a reason.
Fisk: Leave that to me. I'll handle the public relations. We'll present it as a necessary step to ensure the safety and security of the city
