5 - SNOW MONSTER
Teresa's eyes opened slowly. She was met with a blank, white coloured ceiling. Despite her vision being blurring, she still was left in utter confusion. The last she remembered was seeing Snow's face being becoming limp in her friends arms. When she sat up, a surge of pain burst all the way up her back, making her fall back down onto the bed. She groaned, squeezing her eyes shut.
"Woah, take it easy!" A familiar voice said. One that made Teresa re-open her eyes and look at the man. "Prince James?" She asked.
He chuckled, briefly looking down at the floor. "It's David, actually."
Before she could ask where Snow White is, arms were suddenly being wrapped around her body. "Teri!" Teresa cringed, but relaxed and hugged her friend back with a smile on her lips.
Teresa pulled back and her eyes widened. Snow White was different in this realm. Her hair was incredibly short and wasn't even touching her shoulders, and her clothing was a strange pair of trousers and a soft shift that looked no where near a tunic. "Snow," she said, gaping at her friends appearance, "your hair! And what are you wearing?"
Snow chuckled. "You have a lot to learn about this world, Teri." Tears built in her eyes. "Oh, I've missed you so much!" She threw her arms around the blonde teenager again, making everyone in the room laugh.
"You have a great daughter, Snow."
Snow looked over at Emma and smiled. "The best."
"I do have to ask though," Teresa said as she laid back against her pillow. "Why does your daughter look the same age as you. And why did you marry the man we stole from?"
David chuckled. "Can't help true love, Teresa."
"Right..."
"And as for the age thing," Snow said. She bit her lip, knowing that perhaps the long story was better saved for another time. "Well, we'll explain everything later, but right now why don't you get some rest? You need to heal."
Teresa nodded and pulled the white sheet up to her shoulders. She closed her eyes, turning onto her uninjured side. She felt someone take her hand and, knowing it was Snow, smiled as she fell back to sleep.

The next time Teresa woke up it was morning and the sun was shining brightly through the blinds, blinding her. Teresa groaned and rolled over, but cringed and let out a hiss of pain since she laid on her bad shoulder.
"Are you okay?" A concerned voice asked. Teresa opened her eyes to see who it was, and found Ruby sitting at her bedside with a white cup in her hand.
She smiled, having not seen Ruby yet since she woke up in the hosptial. "Nice hair," she commented, seeing the red streak in her hair. "Red."
Ruby chuckled, twisting a lock between her fingers. "Thanks."
Teresa furrowed her brows. There was something off about Ruby. "Where's your cloak?" She asked, finally noticing its absence. "You never go anywhere without it."
"I only need it when the time comes. Besides, no one wears cloaks in Storybrooke."
Teresa snorted. "Storybrooke? Like storybook?"
Ruby smirked. "Yeah. Long story short, the Evil Queen cast a curse that created a new place. Storybrooke, Maine on the planet Earth. Apparently, in this realm, we are all storybook characters. Fairytales, if you would."
"This realm is going to be very different isn't it?"
"Yep," Ruby said, nodding her head.
Teresa looked around the white room and sighed. "Where am I?"
"The hospital. It's like a giant infirmary. Emma brought you here last night," Ruby replied. "You hungry?"
"Starving! I haven't eaten in days," Teresa replied, sitting up in the hospital bed. Ruby helped by stuffing a pillow behind her back.
"I'll be right back with your breakfast. For now, entertain yourself with the greatest creation ever made: television." Ruby tossed her the television remote after turning it on and smirked at the confused expression on the blondes face.
Teresa watched the screen with wide eyes. "Strange," she whispered. "What is this? Who are those people?"
"Oh you've got a lot to learn, Teri," Ruby said, patting her leg before moving out of the room to get Teresa her breakfast.
Teresa sighed and laid her head back, watching as the screen of the television changed to a various amount of different people that all spoke or argued with one another. It wasn't much later when Ruby returned, and this time she had Snow with her.
Teresa gave her friends a smile. "Morning."
"Morning," Snow greeted. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm okay. When can I get the hell out of here?"
Ruby chuckled and turned to Snow with a smirk. "Pay up."
Teresa furrowed her eyebrows as she watched Snow dig into her pocket and pull out some money, handing it over to Ruby. "Did you guys make a bet?" She asked.
"Of course we did. And I win. We all knew you wouldn't be able to sit still for long." Ruby finished with a grin.
"Haha," Teresa fake laughed, rolling her eyes. "But seriously, when can I get out of here? And where will I be staying because I have a feeling you aren't going to allow me to go live in the woods."
"With me, David, Neal and Emma of course!" Snow said, smiling.
"Who's Neal?" Teresa asked.
"My son."
Teresa's eyes widened. "Hold up, you have a son, too?"
Snow nodded. "Recently. He's a newborn still. We actually only just named him the night Emma brought you back to us."
Teresa sighed and rubbed her temples. "This is going to take some getting used to."
"I would imagine so. Teresa, if you don't feel comfortable living with me and David, the baby and Emma, I'm sure Ruby would be happy to have you. Or maybe Granny can set you up at the Inn. Just...please tell me. I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable in my home."
Teresa nodded. "I will, Snow. Promise."
─────
She knew that she shouldn't have, but Teresa couldn't help it. Yes, she's only been in the hospital for a few hours and was still in some pain, but she was Teresa Holmes. And Teresa Holmes was not someone who sat around and waited. Ruby was to come with her lunch in nearly two hours with Snow and Snow's new baby, Neal, but she couldn't wait. So Teresa, now clothed in her blood-stained tunic, trousers and cloak, grabbed her bow and quiver and slid open the door. Glancing around, she began to walk down the white halls. It took Teresa a little while since she didn't know her way around Storybrooke's Hospital, but finally she made it out. She was surprised that she was able to leave since she knew that all the people dressed in blue were the staff, who certainly didn't do a good job in keeping her within the building.
Teresa smiled when the sunlight hit her skin. She glanced around and was shocked to see that everywhere around her was a building. She was even more shocked when her eyes watched horseless carriages go down the dark lined paths. Roads, if you would.
"Woah," she said breathlessly.
She began to walk down the pathway, feeling the need to walk. She knew thst she would eventually run into Snow or Ruby, or someone else thst she knew so she wasn't worried. Even if it took her a while to find one of them, she at least got to have a good walk.
And then suddenly she seen two short men run by, yelling for help. "We're under attack! We're under attack!" They ran straight to Emma, who Teresa seen standing with the same man she was with in the Enchanted Forest. Hook, she believed his name to be.
Teresa's eyes widened and she turned around, looking for what was attacking them. Pulling an arrow out from behind her back, she loaded her bow and began in a slight jog in the direction they had been running from. She came to a stop when she sported ice covering the ground in a narrow path that lead forward. She furrowed her eyebrows and went to step forward, until her name was called.
"Teresa!" It was Emma, and her eyes were wide. "What're you doing out of the hospital?"
Teresa snorted. "I'm Teresa Holmes, I don't sit still...get used to it. Now, I believe we have a trail to follow."
"Aye," Hook agreed. They ran, following the path.
When they came to a wooden door, Hook was the one to pull it open. Teresa stepped in, bow up and arrow pulled back, ready to shoot. Emma had gun in her hands. They glanced around and after finding no threat, they advanced forward. And then snow began to whirl around on the ground, causing them to pause in their places. It whirled and whirled, building bigger and bigger, until forming a snow monster. Their mouths fell open in shock.
"Alright, that's a new one," Hook said as the monster stared down at them threateningly.
"We don't want to pick a fight," Emma announced, lowering her weapon.
"Swan," Hook said, lightly gripping her arm to stop her from advancing any further.
"I just want to see what it wants," Emma assured him.
"GO AWAY!" The monster roared, then it opened its jaw and blew. The gust of ice old wind caused Teresa to fall and shoot her arrow into the wooden fence. Emma fell onto Hook, her gun falling from her grip and going off, making Teresa jump at the unfamiliar sound. This angered the snow monster; it roared in anger.
Hook jumped to his feet and pulled Emma up with him. Teresa got up, grabbed her bow and the arrow that she had shot, before Emma gripped her arm and pulled her out the door they previously had entered through. They began to run as the snow monster followed them, roaring. They turned the corner and soon met up with the same men Teresa seen and heard yelling for help.
"Evil snowman! Run!" One of them yelled, causing a complete panic to fall over the town. Everyone began to scream in fear and run away. Teresa glared at the back of his head as he took off running in fear. Teresa, Emma and Hook, however, stayed right where they were.
"I think the noise is scaring it," Teresa stated, watching as the snow monster roared and turned around, stomping away.
Emma nodded. "She right, it's headed for the forest."
Teresa smirked. "Just my place." She then took off, running after the monster.
─────
In the woods, they had came to a stop where a group of men and Marian were camping. Teresa was shocked to see Marian there, but after seeing Robin Hood everything disappeared. A grin pulled onto her face at the sight of the familiar man that has been her friend, her father figure, and the man that taught her everything she knows.
"Teresa?" Robin said, stepping around Marian in shock. "What...what are you doing here? Snow White told me you were dead when I asked if you were here."
Teresa grinned, clearing the space between them as she threw her arms around him. She had missed him since they last seen each other. Which has been nearly two for her. "You can thank Emma for my being here."
Robin smiled as he kissed the top of her head like any father would to his daughter. Teresa may not be so, but she may as well be his daughter.
"You two know each other?" Emma asked, raising a brow. It was obvious they did, but now her curiosity had grown as to how they did.
Teresa pulled away, nodding. "Did you honestly think that I wouldn't have met the second best archer in the Enchanted Forest?" Teresa finished with a smirk. Robin rolled his eyes. They were both equals, but it was one time that he missed a shot, and it was only because Little John hand startled him. From that day on, Teresa has teased him about her being the best archer in the Enchanted Forest.
"He saved my life," Teresa said.
Robin smiled at her, and then he noticed the look of urgency on David's face. "What is it?" He asked.
"Some kind of...Snow monster," David informed him, the prince having joined them when they had been running.
"No monster shall cross our path. We'll give you our assist ─ " Robin Hood was cut off when loud stomping could be heard.
"It's getting closer. It's coming from the north," Teresa said, looking in said direction while loading her bow with another arrow. The Merry Men armed themselves rather quickly.
"There!" Little John shouted, stepping to the front of everyone and readying his crossbow.
"No, no, no! Don't shoot!" Emma shouted, but it was too late. His arrow lodged into the snow monsters shoulder.
"It only attacks when it feels threatened. Pistol, sword, bows." Hook lifted his hand. "Hook, my cunning wit...I don't think we have what it takes."
David looked to his daughter. "Emma does."
Emma's eyes widened. "What?"
"Your magic, love," Hook reminded her.
"You can do magic?" Teresa asked, looking at the blonde with wide eyes. Emma nodded. "Well then get on with it, princess!"
"Right," Emma said, lifting her hands up in front of her. Closing her eyes, Emma then began to focus on her magic.
"You can do this," Hook told her, his voice soft and encouraging.
Emma took a deep breath, then shot light magic at the snow monster. It stumbled back a step from the hit. "Take that, Frosty," Emma muttered, but before she could even smirk or smile in victory, the snow monster roared and sharp ice spikes extended from its entire body. All their eyes widened.
"Really?"
The snow monster threw its arm out and, with a roar, threw Teresa, Emma, David, Hook, Robin and Little John backwards. They fell back onto the dirt, unconcious.
─────
When Teresa woke up she instantly groaned from the pain coursing through her body. Of course the giant monster had to make me land on my already injured shoulder.
"Are you okay?" Emma asked, crawling over to her with concern in her eyes.
"Of course I had to land on that damn shoulder," Teresa grumbled, standing up and holding her injured shoulder.
Emma smiled, shaking her head. "You're one strong kid, Teresa, I'll give you that. You don't give up easily, do you?"
Teresa smirked. "Hell no."
"Maybe I'm not." Teresa froze upon hearing her voice. She moved away from Emma and looked at where Regina Mills, the Evil Queen herself, stood before Robin Hood and Marian with her hands clutched out in front of her.
"Welcome to Storybrooke, Marian," Regina said before turning around and walking away.
Emma quickly walked after her, further confusing Teresa. "Regina, we've been trying to find you. We need to talk about ─ " Before Emma could continue, Regina waved her arms, disappearing in her cloud of dark purple smoke.
─────
After a long argument, Teresa agreed to take pain medication and antibiotics for her shoulder, but she would not be staying another second in the hospital. So here she was, walking back towards the hosptial with David by her side. He had insisted on walking her back even though she said she knew the way.
"Someone created that snow monster...this isn't over," Teresa said, making conversation as they walked.
"It never is." David heaved a sigh. "Storybrooke can never get a quiet day."
Teresa smirked. Before she could say anything, they had arrived in the hall where her room was located and headed to where her room was, but a panicked voice stopped them from walking any further.
"Teresa, oh thank goodness!" It was Snow and Ruby, with Dr. Whale right behind them. "We've been worried sick!"
"Relax, I'm fine." Her words didn't stop Snow from tackling her in a hug. Teresa sighed and hugged back, feeling slight guilt for making them worry so much about her.
Snow pulled back and gave her a disappointed look. "You weren't supposed to leave the hospital, Teresa. You need antibiotics for the infection or else it can get worse."
"That's why we came back. After a rather long talk, Teresa's agreed to take the needed medication, but within our home only. She doesn't want to be in the hospital," David said.
Snow sighed, while as Ruby smirked. "I knew you wouldn't be able to last much in this place. You're Teresa Holmes, after all."
