Y/n

Fuck Jimin.

Well, okay, wrong word choice. Shit, if she had a chance to fuck... wait, no.

Focus, Y/n, focus.

Y/n slapped the side of her head and didn't care about the small sting that came with it. But who could blame her? Park Jimin had those delicious plump lips, little button nose, emotional puppy eyes, and a killer body and personality to top it all off. And it didn't help that the man was there, leaning against the doorframe with a toothy smile that crinkled said puppy eyes. It reached his cheeks and nose, too. But that wasn't the point. The point was, that stupid man, with all his charm, managed to convince her to go on that stupid summer trip. Fuck him. Seriously.

"All packed?" he asked in his signature higher-than-normal voice he used whenever he wanted to be dramatic.

They were in her apartment off-campus, which was located in the downtown sector, meaning she heard gunshots every other night. That and cars. Not much in the way of nature anymore, though. On-campus had all the animals, trees, and fresh air. The downtown city, though...

"Somehow, yeah. I can't believe you dropped this on me."

Y/n would never get over that. The previous day had been her graduation, and in the present moment, she had two suitcases packed and ready for a three-month-long vacation. Yeah, that was why a week ago, when they had been in Olive Garden, it was so shocking that the vacation took place a week from that day.

They were leaving the day after her graduation.

So she had to walk across that stage, snatch her diploma, get packed, and clear out everything in less than twenty-four hours. Seulgi and Jimin had helped, so her bedroom that they stood in was barren. No posters of One Direction, no lava lamp Jimin made fun of her for, no chicken nugget stickers on her furniture, and no signs of life. All that remained were two suitcases for the trip to Florida.

Seulgi, Jimin, and Y/n would fly out of Syracuse and go down to Florida and meet all the others there. They were taking separate flights and meeting at MCO. Thanks to the aviation industry being in the shitter, their flight times ended up being a bit different. Jungkook and Yoongi would arrive last, so that meant Y/n's group, who arrived first, would have to wait two hours for them. She wondered if Jungkook, that little shit, did it on purpose.

"Sorry," Jimin said with a snicker. "But you're a masochist. You're into it."

"Says you." Y/n grabbed his shoulder and shifted him so she had perfect access to all his assets. She smacked his ass, and he let out a soft gasp. "See?"

"Shut... shut up. That was cheating."

"Riiight."

It was safe to say Jimin and Y/n were close. Closer than close, in fact. Everyone in the friend group had met in freshman year of high school. All except for Jimin and Y/n, who had grown up together as neighbors. Their families would spend every Fourth of July at Jimin's house, partying and participating in underage drinking. That had led to many nights of Jimin somehow managing to burn ramen with Y/n at three in the morning while everyone else talked in Jimin's furnished basement.

That about summed up all the good things from her childhood.

"Whatever," Jimin mumbled, stepping away and taking both of her suitcases.

"It's okay, Minnie. Seulgi will be back in a minute."

"I'm not letting her or you take either of them, so shut your damn mouth before I make you."

"Oooh." Y/n waggled her brows. "Enticing."

"Ugh. More and more every day, I see why Yoongi is grumpy all the time."

"No shit. He lives in California."

Jimin sighed. "Can't argue with that logic."

With that, Jimin rolled her bags out of the small bedroom. It was far from anything worth taking a picture of for the memories. It was a cheap place she afforded with her job as a waitress at TGI Friday's. It paid far better than she expected, and she managed to save up a few thousand to keep her loan payments covered during their vacation. And, during the trip, the group would do job hunting together and help each other out. At least it'd be a productive trip.

Jimin went out the front door and somehow managed to hold it for Y/n so she didn't dare touch a single door. That man never let her carry anything or open any doors. But no, it wasn't done because he was a gentleman, it was done because he said "You'll probably break something if you do."

Nice, Jimin. Real nice.

Still, Y/n thanked him and guided him down the elevator and to the great outdoors, smelling the weed and cigarette smoke the second she left the apartment complex. Weed was one of her least-favorite smells, and she couldn't comprehend why anyone enjoyed it. Not even vape smells that were meant to be more appealing were enticing to her. She'd rather stick her nose in a dumpster full of Jimin's old sheets.

And that was saying something. She knew what he had done in those sheets...

"Took you long enough. Did you guys fuck in there or something?" Seulgi asked from down the small staircase leading to the sidewalk and road. She had sunglasses on, same with her traditional black leather jacket with more silver zippers than needed. She leaned against their taxi, and the driver—an older man with a receding hairline and a single dimple on his right cheek—came over to assist Jimin with the bags, ignoring Seulgi's comment. It was New York; that kind of language was normal.

"Damn." Jimin whistled as he said the curse, hoisting one of Y/n's suitcases into the trunk while the driver did the other. "I wish. Any guy would be lucky to have a piece of that ass."

Y/n wished she knew how to twerk so she could throw it back. "Keep dreaming, Mr. Park, but Seulgi's got a better chance than you."

"Can't blame you." Jimin scanned Seulgi up and down with a sly smile. "She's quite a catch."

"Ew. I'd rather live in New York."

"Okay, ouch. Friendly fire," Y/n said with a wince. The driver didn't care about their conversation and instead got in the vehicle, and after the terrific trio were done glaring at one another, they got in, too. Seulgi took the passenger's seat so Jimin and Y/n could have tickle fights in the back.

The drive, for the most part, wasn't as chaotic as expected. They managed to get to Syracuse without killing one another or causing the driver to crash. That meant all that remained was boarding the plane and getting to Florida.

All her other belongings were handled by a moving company to go back to California, and her parents would be useful for once and help the movers take them inside. It was the first useful thing they had done in a decade. Maybe they finally snapped to their senses and realized they had a daughter. Not like their son mattered much to them, either, but she had hoped they had learned from their mistakes and decided to treat their daughter differently. But moving furniture inside was just one step. She doubted she could forgive them unless they did far more than that.

The Syracuse airport was child's play in comparison to MCO, which meant there were far less people and busyness than one would expect from an airport. Still plenty of people, sure, but Y/n had been to Orlando before—few airports could match MCO. Syracuse was not one of them, seeing as they had far less gates and airliners.

They would fly Frontier down to Orlando and meet Yoongi, Taehyung, Chaeyoung, and Jungkook. Both Jimin and Seulgi had graduated two weeks ago while the other four graduated earlier that week, so that was why none of them came up to visit Y/n with Jimin and Seulgi.

"Ahh," Jimin said with a sigh, pulling out Y/n's luggage from the back and thanking the driver for his assistance. "Vacation is just what I needed. One last hoorah before settling in the nine-to-five filth."

"Whatever you say, Parkie."

Y/n went to take her belongings, but Jimin didn't allow it. Seulgi had her handbag with her, and she whacked Jimin with it and insisted he let Y/n carry her stuff. Jimin almost threw Seulgi to Pluto for her insistence, and it resulted in the two of them attempting to tickle each other in a grueling battle for dominance. In their distraction, Y/n snatched her luggage and went inside, and Jimin cursed Seulgi out.

Those two were like actual children. Y/n considered herself the most mature one of the bunch, up there with Yoongi. Well, on second thought, Yoongi put up with Jungkook. Maybe Yoongi had an edge on Y/n.

Y/n stood in the airport and admired how the voices echoed and the sneakers squeaked on the smooth white floors. Multiple airliner information centers were scattered around the giant lobby with more ugly mahogany benches than Y/n could count. Half of them had food wrappers left on them.

Jimin approached from behind with his black backpack on. He had Seulgi's backpack, too. Not sure how he managed to snatch that from her, but eh, whatever. Y/n preferred to think about the flight ahead and how she would see Jungkook soon.

Seulgi also came inside and stopped by Y/n's side. Seulgi and Jimin had their core luggage traveling with Taehyung and Chaeyoung, seeing as Taehyung was Jimin's second-closest friend, and Chaeyoung Seulgi's closest. They wanted to travel light to New York so they wouldn't be hauling around luggage for just a week. That resulted in the two of them carrying thick backpacks that would act as carry-ons.

"Ready for a long flight?" Jimin asked, which Y/n agreed to. Jimin was being dramatic again; the flight was two hours and twenty minutes tops. Frontier had a tendency to zoom to get the flights over with as fast as possible. Maybe it was because they knew their quality wasn't the best; however, Jimin booked the flight with Frontier because he wanted to save money on flights wherever possible and reinvest that money into their Airbnbs and meals. That meant they had to deal with Frontier for the time being.

If you asked Y/n, she didn't care. Flights annoyed her, and she hated the way the plane always felt like it was about to drop out of the sky. But that was small fry in comparison to what was about to come. In just a few hours, she would be in Orlando at MCO, and during that time, she would see him again.

She would have to face her ex-bully: Jeon Jungkook.
