Jungkook
Y/n day.
Ah, the start of vacation, AKA what Jungkook called "Y/n day." He hadn't seen her in four years, so that meant it'd be one helluva reunion. If she slapped him, he'd consider that a win.
Jungkook stood in MCO, or Orlando's airport, watching the busyness. It was a chaotic airport, to say the least. People stormed by with headphones on and the wheels of their luggage squeaking against the warm floors. The entire building was hot, and Jungkook couldn't tell if that was because of Florida's climate or the amount of bodies making the heat swell.
Yoongi stood beside him with a single suitcase. Everyone else had opted for two or more, seeing as they'd be traveling for three months. Most, like Jungkook, brought a spare, empty suitcase for packing anything they bought along the way. Though perhaps it gave Yoongi more personality, knowing that he packed a few clothes and his toothbrush. Well, Jungkook was sure Yoongi packed more than that, but still.
"Jimin is on his way with the others," Yoongi said, his nose buried in his phone and his quiet tone almost inaudible over the chaos taking up MCO. "Remember to play nice."
"I will, I will, don't worry."
Jungkook knew Yoongi meant well, but he hoped Yoongi trusted him enough to be respectful. Being respectful and being nice were two different things. All Jungkook had to do was not be a bitch. Should be simple, right?
Yoongi didn't answer and instead kept tapping away on his phone. The man was addicted to rhythm games, so that was what he did while they waited. Somehow, Yoongi didn't need headphones or volume to sync up his fingers with the beat. Jungkook wished he had that ability. As much as Jungkook was musically gifted, Yoongi was on another level. It was as if he was born to be a producer. Maybe, if Jungkook was lucky, Yoongi would produce a song for Jungkook to sing one day. They had talked about it in class a couple times. He hoped it would become reality.
Next came the long wait. MCO was gigantic. That meant there were little train thingies that took people from one part of the airport to the next. Most of them had been to MCO before, seeing as Florida was a popular vacation spot, but even that familiarity wouldn't help them since the place was so damn huge. However, Jungkook's worries were squashed when, ten minutes later, he saw the familiar messy black hair that borderline formed a mullet down the shorter man's neck.
Park Jimin.
Jungkook nudged Yoongi, causing Yoongi to miss a beat and scowl, but he realized why Jungkook bothered him and paused the game and shut off his phone. Yoongi put it in his leather jacket's pocket and ruffled his medium-length black hair, allowing it to fall in his face and cover his eyes.
Jungkook swore Yoongi and Seulgi were both the same and polar opposites at the same time. Seulgi was far more upbeat and girly, but Yoongi wore that same leather jacket every day, which Seulgi did with her leather jacket. That got confirmed when Jungkook spotted Seulgi behind Jimin. She was, in fact, wearing her signature leather jacket, and her black hair was straighter than a stripper pole and pushed back over the shoulders of the fabric.
Chaeyoung and Taehyung were there, too. Chaeyoung with her distinguishable ginger hair that was wavy and covered the left side of her face, and Taehyung with his boxy smile, Gucci slides he wore twenty-four-seven, and bouncy brunette hair he wanted to dye red during the vacation.
Jungkook pried them away from his gaze and instead focused on the lone girl in the back, hiding on purpose. Y/n L/n. She didn't bother glancing up to risk eye contact. Jungkook, on the other hand, kept his gaze locked on her and didn't so much as glance up at the others as they stopped in front of him.
"Good to see you guys," Chaeyoung said to both Yoongi and Jungkook, which took Jungkook off guard. He wasn't expecting any greetings, seeing as he was only there because of Yoongi. But then again, Chaeyoung had always been the nicest in the group. She had grown up in Australia before moving to the States for high school beyond, which meant she had a soft accent that matched her delicate skin, smooth hair, and gentle personality.
"Yeah." Jungkook cleared his throat, and the others had to have noticed him peering into Y/n's soul by now. But if they did, they didn't mention it, so Jungkook kept talking to clear the awkwardness. "It's a little crowded in here. Should we get to the Airbnb and talk there?"
"That's the smartest thing you've ever said," Jimin replied, clapping Jungkook's shoulder.
That got Jungkook to remove his eyes from Y/n and peek at Jimin instead. Ah, the weirdo. At least he still had his chipped, jagged front tooth that poked out whenever his plump lips parted. That gave him enough charm to make Jungkook kind of like him sometimes.
Kind of.
Sometimes.
"Alright, that's enough bro moments, let's get moving," Yoongi said, and Jungkook sent a mental thanks to Yoongi for that. Jungkook liked dishing out physical touch, like ass slaps and chest whacks, but he did not enjoy being on the receiving end as much.
Jimin backed off and went over to Y/n to wrap his arm around her. Y/n peeped her head up at that, and for the first time in years, Jungkook and Y/n made eye contact. The woman had more innocent eyes than he remembered, despite that "innocence" being far from the truth.
She had no makeup or jewelry on, likely because she didn't get a chance to thanks to the rush of the flight and moving out of New York one day prior to the trip. Her eyes bulged by a hair, and the woman's body stiffened, even with Jimin's arm around her. Jungkook noticed Jimin pull her closer, albeit by a tiny amount.
No words came from either of them. The group gathered their belongings and chatted about the plan to go in two separate taxis to the Airbnb, and from there, Jimin would go with Seulgi to get two rental cars for the friends to share; however, Jungkook didn't care. He couldn't, not when he stared into the eyes of Y/n L/n.
They couldn't take their gazes off one another. At least, that was what it felt like, and Jungkook wanted to savor the moment, for some reason. He hated her, and he knew the trip would consist of the two of them going back and forth a handful of times. Yet, his mind could only think of one thing in the moment. One dangerous thing.
He enjoyed seeing her again... and he didn't know why...
