8 - Eyes Off You
Seungcheol cleared his throat before knocking at Jeonghan's room's door, "Jeonghan?"
"Yeah, just a second!" The younger replied and Seungcheol stood calmly. They had to attend an event organised by both of their parents to introduce the couple to their business community and to announce Joshua and Seokmin's marriage.
He wasn't very interested in the event as it was an extremely formal one and over that, without his friends. All he had to do was to flash a fake smile and pretend to be a match made in heaven with Jeonghan.
It was when Jeonghan opened the door as he was dressed in a decent suit and according to Seungcheol, he looked absolutely stunning. Meanwhile Jeonghan admired the older's classy yet attractive look, within his mind.
'Wow he looks cool, no wonder he has millions of fans out there.'
'Still the most gorgeous person I've ever come across in my whole life.'
'His smile would be a cherry on cake over this perfect look.'
'His eyes are just mesmerizing, so bad that I can't adore them.'
It would have been much better if they could word out those compliments instead of murmuring them to themselves.
Before they could eat each other with their intense staring contest, a staff member approached them, "Sir, the car is ready."
Both of them nodded as they walked behind as they finally reached to get into the backseat of the car. The driver got the order and began to drive towards the destination.
They remained silent during the car ride. None of them said anything, more like they didn't have anything to say.
After a while, they reached the venue of the party. Seungcheol was sitting on the side facing the media waiting for their appearance as they weren't allowed inside the venue. The guard opened the door from his side as the older walked out.
He waited for Jeonghan to step out and offered him his hand. Jeonghan didn't protest as he very well knew that it was just an act put up for the public.
Seungcheol gently slipped his arm around Jeonghan's waist and held him gracefully, "I'm sorry, just cooperate for the sake of the media." He mumbled slowly earning a positive response from the younger.
The next moment, both of them put on a fake smile as they waved and bowed to the media and fansites. Yeah, everything was a facade that was being showcased to the public.
After depicting that they were a great couple with an extraordinary chemistry, they walked inside the venue as they were met with a huge crowd of reputed businessmen.
Their parents were quick to acknowledge their presence as they called them to introduce them to everyone.
While indulging in the formalities, Jeonghan noticed that Kim Leehyuk was also there. He mentally rolled his eyes as he knew that he was earlier dealing with Seungcheol's mother. She owned an academy for acting classes so he was the dealer for the costume demands but after Jeonghan's arrival, she had politely cut business ties with him.
"Hyung!" Seokmin called as he and Joshua sprinted towards the couple. They shared warm hugs after which they stood together. Their friends weren't a part of this formal party but at least the four of them had each other.
"You both look so good!" Jeonghan complimented Joshua and Seokmin. After a small conversation, they once again scattered into the hall according to their liking.
Seungcheol kept staring at Jeonghan while casually sipping his drink. And for once, he won't blame alcohol for finding the younger attractive.
Seungcheol actually loved everything about him. The way he used to smile, the way he would always talk so calmly and the way he would never understand those subtle hints.
He loved him as he was, perfect or imperfect.
He loved how Jeonghan always had those innocent eyes whenever he would stand against Seungcheol but a completely different aura in front of everyone else.
And what Seungcheol loved even more was the fact that Jeonghan never realised it.
"How can he even think that I hate him?" Seungcheol muttered to himself, "Because look at me, I'm just so down bad for him. Why?!"
Don't ask why
I can paint a picture of you in my mind, love
All my life
I never thought someone would make me feel so high
But here you are
It was when Joshua greeted Seungcheol, "Seokmin is just too excited to see him after a long time."
"It's fine." Seungcheol chuckled.
"I don't think so."
"What?"
"I mean, don't mind me but don't you and Jeonghan live together?" Joshua displayed a teasing smile, "You're checking him out as if you'll not get to see him at home again."
"I wasn't checking him out, what are you talking about?" Seungcheol shrugged.
"Guess what Seungcheol, I'm unfortunately not blind." Joshua continued to tease.
"Wha-" Seungcheol knew he was caught but he wasn't going to accept it, "I wasn't even looking at him. I was just vibing alone."
"Vibing alone or suffering alone?" Joshua laughed, "Checking out someone like this is not good Seungcheol. Until, he's your very own husband."
"Wow shut up." Seungcheol laughed along.
"I will shut up after a quick tip." Joshua whispered to the older, "If you wanna hide it, at least hide it nicely."
There's no touch no feeling
Pleasure or pain
Anything like the way you running through my veins
Meanwhile Jeonghan wasn't doing any better. Seokmin was excited to guide him around the hall but Jeonghan's eyes were subtly glancing at Seungcheol.
He felt like he was doing something illegal but he couldn't help but admire his flawless husband.
"Hyung!" Seokmin rolled his eyes, "You can focus on Seungcheol hyung after going home."
"Where did he come from all of a sudden?" Jeonghan hesitantly grinned.
"When did he even leave you?" Seokmin retorted, "Your steps are following me but your eyes are fixated on him. What is so attractive about him rolling his sleeves?"
Exactly. Seungcheol was simply rolling up the sleeves of his shirt as his coat rested beside him. Then why was Jeonghan unconsciously swooning over him?
I just can't take my eyes off you
Tell me anything you want to do
I just can't take my eyes off you
Nothing I can do about it
Has he gone crazy or something?
"Nothing?" Jeonghan mumbled, "Let's just go and-" He was cut off by the brief noise in the hall.
The sound of mic testing echoed in the hall as everyone turned their attention towards the stage. The organisers of the party i.e. their parents were standing on the stage with wide smiles on their faces.
After introducing themselves briefly, Sana proceeded, "I would love to call my son Choi Seungcheol and son in law, Yoon Jeonghan on the stage."
Everybody applauded as the couple moved to the stage. They weren't aware of what they had to do up there but they just complied with the orders.
Both of them introduced themselves as well after which Jiah carried on, "Thank you everyone for showering your blessings on them. We have another heart warming announcement for you."
Sunwoo and Jaebyeom mumbled something to Jeonghan and Seungcheol and they nodded after which they took up the mic.
"So the next announcement is about the glamorous couple and the centre of attention of this party." Seungcheol began as Jeonghan added, "As an older brother, I'm really glad to announce my younger ones getting married. Please welcome on stage, Yoon Joshua and Choi Seokmin."
The audience applauded again after which the formalities went on for a while and it was declared that Joshua and Seokmin would marry each other after a couple of months.
After the event, everyone was spreading around the hall, interacting with one another and devouring the meal organised for them.
Meanwhile, the person who was supposed to be the center of the party was busy scrolling his phone with a drink resting in his hand.
Serenity's leader SCOUPS and Rose Quartz's Ceo YOON JEONGHAN were seen attending a private party organised by their families. This was their first public appearance after marriage and they looked absolutely phenomenal as they made the perfect couple of the night.

Seungcheol was scrolling through the freshly served articles and reactions over his oh so beautiful relationship with Jeonghan which was just a facade and assumption made by fans and netizens.
Like, everyone got a news about their wedding and assumed that they love each other? Wow.
He was used to it. He had to pretend in the public that he was oblivious of all these things when he was well aware of them. And 10 years in the industry made him the unfazed idol he was until and unless things were escalated too far.
In short, you don't mess with Choi Seungcheol across his limit.
Jeonghan had disappeared somewhere in the name of going to the restroom and Seungcheol understood his behaviour. He knew how the huge crowd was bothering Jeonghan and over that, being the center of attention wasn't helping.
It was when a known yet unknown man approached him.
"Oh hello Mr. Choi." Leehyuk shook hands with him, "Did you recognise me?"
"Of course." Seungcheol nodded with a fake smile, "You've worked for my mother's academy for acting classes to meet the costume demands. CEO of Blue Vintage, aren't you?"
"Well, you've a great memory." Leehyuk chuckled, "I worked for her before Jeonghan came into the picture."
"Jeonghan?" Seungcheol cocked a brow. He didn't know that Leehyuk was that familiar with Jeonghan to address him by his first name only.
"Yeah." Leehyuk nodded, "My deal with Mrs. Choi was ended and she didn't renew the contract because she closed a deal with Jeonghan's company."
"Oh."
"The world is small, isn't it?" Leehyuk looked at the idol, "My ex happened to be your husband. And I happened to be a former dealer of my ex's current mother-in-law."
"What are you talking about?" Seungcheol turned towards Leehyuk.
"You don't know?" Leehyuk passed an evil smirk, "Seems like you still have secrets amidst your marriage. I've dated Jeonghan for a long time before we broke up last year. He has never ending demands, I swear."
Seungcheol just stared at him blankly. No way, this guy was saying the truth. Jeonghan would never date someone like him.
"And you know what?" Leehyuk whispered against the idol's ears, "I know him very well, both inside out." He backed away with a subtle grin, "You know what I mean."
"Well, it doesn't matter, does it?" Seungcheol retorted, "The past is never taken care of. Jeonghan loves to cherish his present, only. And his present, is Choi Seungcheol."
"I like your confidence." Leehyuk laughed as he offered his hand for a goodbye handshake.
Seungcheol accepted it and took the chance to subtly and smoothly twist his fingers, "You better stay out of my sight, Mr. Park."
"Oh hey guys, what are you talking about?" Jeonghan joined the two.
"Nothing much, I just wanted to meet your husband." Leehyuk tried to reduce the pain in his hands without making it obvious.
"Oh I'm so sorry, I'm really sorry!" Jeonghan apologised after he not so accidentally spilled his drink over Leehyuk's coat.
"It's fine-"
"No no, it's not fine!" Jeonghan abandoned his glass, "Come I'll help you clean."
Both Leehyuk and Seungcheol looked at Jeonghan who seemed to be worried about the mishap.
"It's fine, he can clean it by himself." Seungcheol mumbled as he glared at the younger.
"Have some courtesy Seungcheol." Jeonghan stepped back, "Follow me Mr. Kim, I'll help you with this."
Leehyuk passed a filthy smirk to Seungcheol followed by a wink after which he walked behind Jeonghan.
Seungcheol felt anger rush through his veins. Sure he didn't believe Leehyuk's previous comments because that person didn't seem trustworthy at all. But why did Jeonghan bother so much about his clothes? And he wasn't dumb to notice that the younger spilled the drink intentionally.
But why did he care anyways?
He restlessly drank two-three shots after which he couldn't wait anymore. He decided to follow Jeonghan and Leehyuk's path and separate them. He walked through the hallway of the first floor of the hotel which was booked for them.
While walking in curiosity, Seungcheol heard a muffled scream from a room he was passing by. He carefully opened the door and his jaw dropped at the scenario.
"How dare you talk shit about me to my husband." Jeonghan slammed Leehyuk's head on a table whose lips were already bleeding.
He grabbed Leehyuk's collars and punched his face several times, "I've warned you so many times but you somehow manage to prove that you're an unfazed fucker."
Seungcheol instantly stepped between them as he held Jeonghan away from Leehyuk, "Stop, what are you doing Jeonghan?"
Leehyuk struggled to catch his breath after which he sat up on the floor, "You know it would be a problem for you if everyone gets to know about this side of yours, right Jeonghan?"
Jeonghan looked at Seungcheol with a look which said, 'You want me to spare him?'
He yanked the older away as he walked towards Leehyuk and crouched down in front of him. He grabbed his hairs harshly and pulled them which led to Leehyuk screaming his lungs out.
"Seungcheol needs to worry about his image in front of the public but I DON'T. Do I look like I give a fuck?" Jeonghan smirked, "I would've kicked your face in front of everyone if it wasn't a party held by our parents."
Seungcheol couldn't really process whatever was going on. The fact that Jeonghan was being outrageous and was beating someone just didn't sit right with him.
He gathered himself as he again went to keep Jeonghan away from the filthy man.
"You very well know that you stand nowhere against me." Jeonghan yelled, "Go on. Tell everyone that I did this to you and cry about it."
"Jeonghan it's enough." Seungcheol held both of his hands and faced Leehyuk, "And you Mr. Kim, do you need a notice to leave this place?" He would have kicked Leehyuk too for his behaviour but Jeonghan had done enough harm already.
Leehyuk coughed as he clenched his chest.
"If you don't want my guards to throw you out, leave by yourself." Seungcheol warned for the last time.
"How-" Jeonghan began but Seungcheol placed his finger over his lips, "It's enough Jeonghan, let him leave."
After Leehyuk left, Seungcheol freed Jeonghan from his grip, "What made you pull such a stunt? You might have gotten hurt."
"He's too weak to hurt me." Jeonghan scoffed.
"Sure." Seungcheol chuckled after which he noticed scratches and blood on Jeonghan's right palm's knuckles, "This is what I was talking about."
He dragged Jeonghan to the room which was booked for them and made him sit on the bed. He brought the first aid kit and began to apply ointment over his hand.
"He was lying." Jeonghan muttered out of the blue, "I've never dated him, trust me. He's just one of my business rivals but far more cheap."
Seungcheol looked up and Jeonghan's worried face bothered him. Did he really think that he believed Leehyuk? "I don't think you owe me an explanation."
"Probably." Jeonghan nodded, "I don't know why but I just wanted to clear it up so I did."
"It's alright Jeonghan, don't worry." Seungcheol assured after which he focused back on dressing Jeonghan's wound.
Meanwhile Jeonghan kept staring at his so-called husband. How can someone be so admirable? Why is he so fucking perfect? And his looks aren't helping either. He's so hands- What the hell am I doing?
Don't ask why
But every little thing you do drives me wild
Don't be shy
Come a little closer light my world on fire
"Back to earth Jeonghan?" Seungcheol snapped his fingers against the younger's face.
"Uh- yeah." Jeonghan smiled, "Thank you."
Seungcheol nodded as he kept the first aid kid back to its place, "Let's go."
"Where?"
"To the main hall?" Seungcheol looked at Jeonghan in amusement, "Did you already forget that we're at a party? I mean not exactly a party for us but whatever."
"My head hurts." Jeonghan mumbled beneath his breath, "Yeah, let's go."
Jeonghan took the elevator as he aimed to reach Seungcheol's practice room. It was noon and according to the schedule forwarded by Hoshi, it was currently the time their morning to noon practice was ending and they had another one scheduled for the evening.
He was half excited half nervous as he had planned to start off by little things like spending some time at the cafe. He had to look after his work too so both of them had time boundations but he very well knew how crucial these small things were.
On his way, he met Seungkwan who greeted him with a huge smile, "What brings you here?"
"What happened to the costume fitting of Serenity, Infin7 and SparkX?" Jeonghan asked.
"You came all the way here for this?" Seungkwan raised his brows in disbelief.
"You know how everything was messed up last time so I was just making sure-"
"You're here for Cheol hyung right?" Seungkwan chuckled.
"No there's nothing like that." Jeonghan explained that although he was lying, "I really wanted to check-"
"You've a great timing hyung." Seungkwan cut him off, "His practice must have ended by now."
Little did he know why Jeonghan's timing was so great?
"Anyways, yeah the fittings went well but Infin7 has not done it yet because of other schedules." Seungkwan informed, "Miss Hana?" He called the lady walking out of a cabin, "Please take Mr. Yoon to the new practice room of Serenity. Mr. Choi must be there right?"
"Yes sir." Hana nodded as she bowed to Jeonghan who retorted the gesture.
"She's hyung's new manager." Seungkwan informed and left.
"This way sir." Hana led Jeonghan to the elevator, "You're Mr. Choi's husband right?"
Jeonghan just nodded with a smile.
"Everyone loves you both together." Hana admired politely, "Are you both doing well?"
Jeonghan was swayed away with the sudden question, "Well, yeah we're doing well but please restrain from asking personal questions, I'm not comfortable."
"Oh I'm so sorry sir, my inner fan just popped out." Hana apologised as they reached the desired floor.
Wierd. Jeonghan thought.
While walking towards the practice room, they saw Serenity along with Hoshi and Dino, their choreographers, stepping out of the room.
"Jeonghan?" Seungcheol was quick to notice his husband.
"Oh hyung? You here?" Mingyu and Hoshi internally chuckled as they very well knew about the plan.
"Yeah." Jeonghan nodded hesitantly.
"You all, don't crowd him." Wonwoo rebuked, "You're making him uncomfortable."
"Let's go." Vernon teasingly chuckled, "Give them some privacy." He left along with everyone.
"What happened Jeonghan?" Seungcheol asked.
"First of all, will you stop talking formally?" Jeonghan rolled his eyes, "That's such a turn off."
Shit. What did I just say?
"I mean-" Jeonghan looked at Seungcheol's bewildered face, "Nevermind, it was a slip of tongue. Are you free for a while?"
"Yeah."
"Let's go to a nearby cafe." Jeonghan asked hesitantly.
"You came all the way here to ask me for coffee?" Seungcheol raised his brows.
"Woah don't think so highly of yourself." Jeonghan joked, "I had some work with Seungkwan and on my way, I saw a cool cafe. I didn't want to go alone so I asked you."
Of course. Seungcheol thought, Why would he put efforts for me?
"Let me just change, then we can go." Seungcheol agreed.
"Thank you." Jeonghan grinned.
Seungcheol nodded and walked back to change as Jeonghan smiled to himself.
First mission, cleared.
A/n : If y'all are confused then yeah this is NOT the chapter for which I asked the comments to be in. It's in the 12th chapter so don't worry!!
