Y/n Pov

A dark corridor extended in front of me seemingly endless while I was walking through it, my heart filled with rage and hatred. My breathing was shallow and the wound on the side of my stomach made me only come forward one step at a time as I had to support my weight on the wall. Each step hurt and I was pressing a piece of cloth on it to stop the bleeding.

"José, I'm going to kill you for what you have done." I growled in front where he had ran off from me after trying to stab me like a coward.

A flight of stairs appeared at my feet meaning that I arrived at the end of my target, his office. There is no running away now. "I'm coming José." I yelled up the stairs while I was going up one step at a time.

2 years he played around with me, made me follow empty leads to fake hideouts that were just filled with mocking letters written to me. And each time Irene had to calm me down, she was the one who always instructed the operations and the one who was there observing me while I was having a mental breakdown in the operation Van each time it happened and she listened and nodded saying that it will pay of in the end.

The last of the steps was over and I was met with his office door, I could hear his panicked movements behind it.

It took so long for us to get him and now I'm finally able to kill him. I pushed the door open and there I was met with him, a mouse trapped in his own home. The door behind me closed with a loud crash. I grinned at him and a maniacs laugh escaped me. "I've been having restless nights because of what you did José, all those things that I had to do all those targets that I had to eliminate and all the fake evidence that you José planted." I spoke while getting closer to him and he was resting at his desk, his head bleeding from a wound that I had done to him prior to his escape. "What do you want from me Jellal." He exclaimed in a scared tone looking at me with his eyes trembling in fear.

"Your death José you have hurt those I care about and you are behind Irene's traumatic past which made her have an extreme case of PTSD and only medication could help her." I spoke slowly and coldly while pulling out a combat knife from my pants. "What happened to you José, you've been so arrogant and boasted all the time that I will never be able to catch you?" I asked and clicked my tongue. "Could it be that you began to slack off and you aren't so smart?" I mocked him0 just a meter away from him.

He started to laugh at me and gave that sick wretched smile. "You are the idiot who ran into the trap Jellal." He exclaimed loudly, I noticed him pulling up a pistol form a drawer. I grabbed his arm with my left hand and with my right elbow I hit his face before stabbing his arm with my knife. He let go of the gun screaming in pain and hit me making me tumble back lightly. "I'm going to make you pay Jellal!!" He roared and I grinned at him as I noticed him stand in front of an open balcony door. "YOU WONT!!" I yelled and ran at him.

I pushed him with all my weight making him tumble backwards and drop down the balcony into the abyss. I crashed to the ground not seeing him fly down but could hear him scream before a metallic crash made me smile in victory. I have done it, I killed José Porla my job is done, I'm finally free from him. I crawled to the edge of the balcony and pulled myself up on the railing to look down seeing his lifeless body on the broken roof of his car.

"I've done it." I whispered and fell back to the ground exhausted. I noticed footsteps come closer accompanied by a distinct heel clicking belonging to a single person. "You've done well Jellal, I'm proud of you, like a mother to her child." She spoke in a neutral tone but I could hear the softness in her voice and I knew she was smiling at me happily while laying her hands on the railing looking down. "Didn't expect you to be this harsh to him, good job." She nodded.

"You took your time Irene." I scoffed and she merely chuckled. "I wasn't the one who ran headfirst after him as soon as I saw him, I had to take care of all his goons." She replied and knelt down presenting me her hand to help me sit up which I did.

"You want a drink." She proposed motioning to a bottle of whisky and two glasses sitting at the desk. I nodded and she poured the amber liquid into the small glasses sitting down silently. "To us and the ISF." She said and downed the drink with me.

I opened my eyes from the nap I was taking and Erza smiled at me as I noticed I was with my head on her lap. "Did you sleep well? you seem to have had a sleepless night and are tired." She said and gently brushed with her hand over my head. I nodded and sat up. "I'm sorry I just had to rest a little, how long did I sleep?" I asked and she mused a bit looking into the evening sky.

That's right after the hefty lunch we had at Gray's home Erza and I decided to drive to the viewing point above the city to look down at it with the gentle snowfall it made Erza want to just sit out there and look around. She loved winter the most and we both were packed into our winter clothes. "About 10 minutes." She replied smiling at me. We stood up and took a last look at the now setting sun.

A sudden clicking caused us to turn around and I was met with a barrel pointed at me from a few feet away. "Kagura?" We both exclaimed in shock seeing the violet haired girl in front of us.

"You took everything from me, you killed Simon and now I'm going to kill you." She said and pointed her weapon at me.

Erza suddenly went in front of me. "No Kagura don't do it!" Erza spoke hastily and Kagura glared at her. "Why shouldn't I do it, you aren't going to stop me Erza, I'm not here to kill you but I wont hesitate to shoot through you in order to kill Jellal." She replied coldly at her.

"Are you really willing to kill someone innocent?" Erza exclaimed and Kagura laughed. from her answer. "Innocent, you?" She snarled. "You are protecting the one who killed Simon and as far as I know you too have your hands in the murder of Simon it was all in the video." She yelled and Erza looked at her worried.

Erza shook her head swiftly. "Kagura, I'm caring an innocent life inside me, are you willing to hurt a mother to be?" Erza asked and Kagura seemed to have stopped to think.

"Kagura, who told you these lies who told you what I did?" Erza asked and kagura lowered the gun. "It was José Porla who told me all you did, who told me the truth about you." She said in a restrained tone.

"Kagura don't do something you will regret, do you really think Simon would want this? Killing Jellal isn't going to bring him back and you aren't going to feel better about it." Erza said and Kagura glared at her.

"Shut up, what do you know about the pain of losing someone who was the only person related to you, Simon and I were adopted together but I've never felt as close to them as I did to Simon." Kagura snapped at her and Erza started to tremble lightly.

"Kagura, I know how the pain feels of losing someone, grandpa Rob was the second closest to me right after my mother but I've never felt the love of a father, I've never met him, he was already dead when I was born." Erza said trying to hold back the emotions which slowly came over her. "I know that you Kagura had parents, I know that you until the age of 5 had them but someone murdered them." Erza spoke softly and Kagura nodded unknowingly.

"The Mikazuchi case?" I stated and Kagura glared at me. "What do you know from it?" She snapped at me and I could see her starting to tremble.

"All I know from it is that 12 years ago a mysterious murder had happened that gave only more answers the longer you looked at it, in an ally two adults murdered but the murder weapon was never found because they thought it had to be a gun from the wound it inflicted in them, yet no bullet was anywhere to be seen at the crime scene, only a card with written 'The shadows will consume the land once all its pieces are together when the Phantom Lord comes no one is safe.' Years later Oktober 12 last year at José Porla's house we found the exact same card and through our investigation in the hunting of José Porla the name Phantom Lord had been coming up several times, none of us really knew at the time when we began it that José Porla was the Phantom Lord until we caught enough evidence to be sure of it. In short, José Porla is behind several murders in the last 20 years coming up to over a 100 murders he had been involved directly and at least as many others some way, even in the death of Erza's father and even Simon himself." I explained and Kagura Lowered her weapon slowly.

"This can't be right, José had showed me evidence enough that Jellal was behind Simons murder." Kagura yelled and started to slowly tear up. "That's not entirely false Kagura but let me explain. All three of us have a relative that was either murdered or severely injured by José. Erza's father was shot by her mother in self defense when he wanted to kill her. My little brother was driven over in a hit and run by José in his car surviving badly injured, your parents were murdered by someone who was working for José as in that time several of the scenes had those cards at the victims body. They thought to deal with a simple serial killer but at the time they never knew how deep this investigation will go and it was brought to a halt as none of the evidence led anywhere besides dead ends until that date which I had thrown José of the balcony supposedly killing him but who knows how he survived. On how Simon died it is complicated, when we had that mission I was hit by something that altered my perception and I thought Simon was one of the enemies, I didn't even realize I shot him when he fell to the ground, seconds after it I blacked out and when I woke up I was in the operation Van of my superior, Erza's mother she told me what the camera found out and a device was found that shoots tiny needles." I explained and Kagura then looked up to me.

"So you are saying I was used by Josè and he wanted me to kill you while he's the real killer?" She asked and I nodded.

I knew that the exact moment in Kagura's head that it clicked in her mind. Her expression grew from anger at me to pure despair and betrayal.

"That's quite enough Kagura!" A raspy mans voice echoed in my ears and at that very moment I heard it, I realized who was here, my blood began to curdle, my breathing stopped the moment the sounds of steps cleared. That stench of cigars slowly making its way into my perception, the same stench that was at the office of José.

I could see Erza's face turn pale, her rosy cheeks from the cold had turned into a white of pure fear, her eyes that had been so vivid with affection a few minutes ago now showed pure horror in them.

The three of us turned to the right seeing the only person which could cause us to turn our bodies weak from the countless atrocities he had done.

"José." I growled between my teeth at him while he stood there with two others of his goons from the Deathbell Riders armed with guns in front of a car with tinted windows.

A mocking grin was on his face. "How long has it been Jellal Fernandes or should I say Siegrain, a few months that you thought I was dead and now I'm right here in front? I've told you that I wont die so easily, the Phantom Lord will always come back." He exclaimed and gave me that evil sneer while his eyes slowly trailed to Erza.

"That hair and those eyes, you are no doubt the daughter of the scarlet despair, how much I'd like to strangle that bitch for what she has done to me." He growled clenching his fist.

Erza got her mind together and smirked lightly. "What did she do José?" She asked grinning smugly. His eyes narrowed down to her. "She tried to kill me but somehow missed the shot and ended up shooting away part of my right ear, if I would get my hands on her I would torture her but I've got a far better idea. . ." He trailed and gazed her up and down.

I clenched my jaw tight biting back the urge to throw myself at him and beat him as he was staring at Erza, I'd have no chance of getting out of this alive with us unharmed.

"I know I'll just use you, the daughter of the scarlet despair to satisfy my desires." He whispered and made Erza stop breathing. "Like hell you do José I wont let you touch her!!" I yelled and he laughed again in a sickening way.

"Like you have anything to say, I'm the one who can simply give the signal to kill you, Kagura here is one of my subordinates. A few weeks ago I've stumbled across her and I could see the empty eyes of despair that she had. She wanted nothing more then revenge on the one who killed her brother, I've told her the truth and now she is going to be the one to kill you Jellal Y/n Fullbuster Fernandes." He said and I looked over to Kagura who was standing there looking between us.

"Kagura kill him, he's the one who murdered Simon he has his blood on his hands." José pointed at me. Kagura looked at the gun she had in her right hand before pulling it up. "I don't know who to believe, the one who held me in his arms openly admitting that he had shot my brother or the one who made him murder Simon." Kagura said and José pulled out a gun. "If you don't do it Kagura then I will shoot you." He warned and Kagura's eyes widened before a gunshot was heard.
