Ahana's P.O.V

I'm bored. Nidhi has gone to meet her grandparents. Rehaan, well he's doing I don't know what. Even Aryan is out at his friend's place. I have listened to music, played my guitar, tried helping mum at the kitchen; she wouldn't let me since I was sick. I also sketched, painted, watched F.R.I.E.N.D.S, played a few games online, stalked celebrities online and spoke to my colleague about when I'll be returning to work.

And now, I'm bored.

I heard a knock on the door. "Come in!" I said. Mum came in with a bowl of soup. Ugh. I'm getting sick of drinking soup. I have had it twice already today.

"Beta, drink this. It's good for you. Also, your father asked me to talk to you." Mum said, sitting beside me on my bed.

"What is it ma?" I asked, drinking the soup.

"Ahana, it's about your marriage dear. You don't have much time. March is going to end. The pandit ji had said you had to get married before July if you're marrying Rehaan. So even his parents want to know if you want to marry him or not because if you don't want to, they have to search for another girl. And there isn't much time. You have known him for a month and by now, you must be knowing something about him. If you like him or not." Mum explained.

Oh god.

The thought of Rehaan marrying someone else breaks my heart. I don't want him to be with someone who isn't me.

I like Rehaan. I really do. And I like spending time with him. Whenever I'm with Rehaan, I don't feel awkward. Shy? Yes. But never awkward. I feel safe whenever he's with me. Even if it's 3 in the night, if I am with him, I know I wouldn't be afraid.

"I know it's too early for you to say anything. And I know that no one can get to know another person completely in the span of one month. But Ahana, it isn't just about you right? It is also about Rehaan. He has to get married before July whereas you are in so such hurry. Your decision is important here." Mum said again.

I nodded. "Yes mum. I understand and whereas my decision? I like him ma. I really do. I think I want to spend the rest of my life with him." I said, shyly.

"So I can tell his parents that you said yes?" she asked hopefully. I shyly nodded. My mum squealed and hugged me.

I giggled. But one thought came to my mind which made my smile slip from my face. "But ma, what if he says no?" I asked.

She laughed. Why is laughing?

"Oh dear, his parents had asked him and he said it was a yes from him if you agreed." She replied with joy.

"Really?" I asked her, smiling. I couldn't contain my smile. My mum nodded and hugged me.

"You've made the right decision Ahana. He is perfect for you." She said. I smiled shyly.

"So we can go ahead with the engagement?" she asked.

All of this was overwhelming but exciting too. I nodded. I was ready.

My mum smiled widely and ran downstairs. Like literally ran. I giggled.

I finished my soup and lied down on the bed thinking about how my life had changed so much. In a good way of course.

Rehaan's P.O.V

"Where is this place Raja?" I asked, frustrated. "About five more minutes sir and we'll be there." He answered.

"You said that ten minutes ago!" I exclaimed. "I said 'fifteen more minutes' sir." He said. I could see him smirking.

I rolled my eyes. I heard my phone buzz. Mum was calling. "Yea mum?"

"Beta! I'm so happy! Wherever you are, come back before six okay?" she said happily. Why is she so happy?

"What happened ma? Why are you so happy?" I asked her.

"Sir we're here." Raja interrupted. I gave him a thumbs up and got out of the car. "Shall I go to the petrol bunk and fill up some petrol in the car sir?" he asked.

"One second ma. Don't hang up." I said and then spoke to Raja. "Okay Raja. When I'm done, I'll call you." I said. He nodded and left with the car to the petrol bunk.

"Yea ma. What were you saying?" I asked her.

"So the pandit ji is coming today at six thirty. So you have to be home at six sharp Rehaan. No excuses." She said.

Pandit? Why is he coming home?

"Why is the pandit coming again?"I asked her. "To fix the date for your engagement." She said like it wasn't a big deal.

"Oh.. Wait what?! Who's engagement?!" I asked, suddenly interested in what she was saying. I don't know why but I heard 'your engagement.' And 'your' referring to me.

"Your engagement. To fix the date." She said.

"Uh what? My engagement?" I asked.

"Yea to Ahana." She said. I could hear giggles coming from the back.

Huh?

Wait. My engagement. To Ahana.

I'm getting engaged to Ahana? "Yes you are." Mum replied. "I said that out loud?" I asked. "Mhhm."

"Ma does Ahana know about this? I mean her parents aren't forcing her right?" I asked.

"Aww little bro, so much concern. And no. She herself agreed. I'm as shocked as you are too. I mean why would she agree to marry you?" Aisha said. I rolled my eyes.

"One, I'm older than you. Two, give the phone to ma." I said.

"Yea Rehaan. So she's agreed too. Her family is coming today at six to confirm the dates with pandit ji. So better not be late." She said.

"Okay mum. I have some work to do so I'll come at five thirty if that's okay?" I asked my mum. "That is okay. Just be back before six."mum said. "And what 'work' do you have brother?" Aisha nosily asked.

"None of your business. Bye!" I said and hung up.

I smiled. I couldn't contain my smile anymore. She said yes!

"I can't believe it! She said yes!" I exclaimed out loud and fist pumped earning some looks from people.

I went inside Mother Goose's and ordered vegetable noodles and hot lemon tea for take away and ordered a coffee for myself.

I know I don't know everything about Ahana but hey! We have a whole lifetime for it right?

I know she's the one for me. I am ready to spend the rest of my life with her.

My phone buzzed. It was Raja. "Yea Raja. Okay. I've ordered the food. As soon as I get it, I'll be right out." I said.

I got the food, paid and left to the car.

"Where to sir?" he asked. "Uh just drop me at the Chauhans' please. And then you can leave. I'll drive back myself." I said.

He smiled and nodded.

In about twenty minutes, we reached Ahana's place. "Thanks Raja. You can leave." I told him.

I went towards her house and rang the doorbell. Her mother opened the door and smiled warmly at me. "Come in beta. Ahana's upstairs. I didn't tell her you were coming." She said. "Thanks aunty." I said. "Call me ma. After all I am going to be your mother-in-law. Wait, has Malini told you?" she asked. I nodded, "Yes. She has." I said.

Her mother smiled and told me to go to Ahana's room. I knocked the door and heard a small 'come in'. I opened the door and saw her.

There she was. My little beauty. She was cuddling a blanket and was reading a book. She had glasses on. She looked so cute.

"Rehaan?" she said in a small voice, looking confused. I smiled and nodded.

"Yep. That's me." I said and sat down beside her.

She had a cute frown on her face. "What are you doing here?" she asked.

"Oh you don't remember? We had decided to hang out today." I replied.

"Bu-but I'm sick. I told you." She said and then sneezed. She looked so freaking adorable. Like a kitty.

"I know. But who said that hanging out refers to only outdoors? We can hang out inside too you know." I said.

"But you'll fall ill too!" she said, pouting.

"Are you saying you don't want me here? Okay. I'll leave." I said, feigning a hurt look.

Her eyes widened. "No I didn't mean it like that!" she said, frowning and biting her lip. Gosh! she should stop doing that.

"No. I get it. You don't want me here." I said sadly and got up.

"No! I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that!" she said and held my arm to stop me.

"Nah. It's cool. I'll just go." I said and started moving. This is so much fun.

"No I'm sorry!" she held my hand, trying to stop me from leaving. I wanted to laugh so hard. Her grip was like a baby's hold. She thought she could pull me back? That's cute.

"Babe, you can't pull me. Don't try and strain your body." I told her.

She frowned and looked irritated. She put a lot of force and pulled me. Her room was a bit untidy and I slipped on cloth. So the slip and her pulling made me fall on top of her.

"See? I can pull you." She said and giggled.

"Mhhm. Maybe you can after all." I said and admired her face.

She was so beautiful. Everything about her was beautiful. Her personality and her physical appearance. She was beautiful inside out.

She started blushing when she realized what position we were in. God I love that blush. It made her look more beautiful if that's even possible.

This girl makes me feel feelings I have never experienced before. What is she doing to me?

"You said yes." I whispered. She looked at me through those thick lashes. "Yes to what?" she whispered back.

"To marrying me." I said softly. She blushed. "Did you say yes?" I asked her. She nodded. "Did you?" she asked. I nodded.

"So you ready to be Mrs Malhotra?" I asked her teasingly.

She blushed even more and looked everywhere except me. "You went to Mother Goose's?" she asked shyly.

"Mhhm" I said. "What did you get?" she asked, hopefully.

"Food" I answered. She was getting annoyed. I could see it on her face. "What food?" she asked.

"Delicious food"

"Ugh! Tell me!" she snapped. I laughed "I got vegetable noodles and hot lemon tea. I heard it was somebody's favourite." I said smirking.

"For me?" she asked hopefully. "Maybe"

She was losing her patience. I was controlling hard to not laugh.

"Get off me" she said, annoyed. I chuckled. I didn't know she would get so annoyed when she didn't get her food.

"Nah. I like it here." I said.

"Rehaan, get off me." She said looking mad. She looks hot when she's mad.

"Please?" she said with a pout. "I'll let you go and give you the food if I get something in return." I said smugly.

"What do you want?" she said struggling against me. "A kiss will do." I said. Her eyes widened. And she shook her head negatively.

"Oh c'mon! Just one kiss!" I encouraged. "No." she said looking everywhere except me.

I went towards her ear and whispered, "Just one kiss baby. That's it."

She shivered when I spoke and her skin had goose bumps. I like the effect I have on her. She's so innocent. So pure. I love it.

"N-no" she said unsurely. "You don't want to kiss me?" I asked, pouting.

She giggled "Nope"

"Oh really?" I asked. She nodded with a smug look on her face. Got up a little and then started tickling her. I was hoping she was ticklish because if she wasn't, my whole plan would backfire. And thank god, she was. She was very ticklish.

She started giggling and laughing loudly.

"S-stahp! Re-rehaan!!" she squealed. She looked so carefree when she laughed. Only pure joy on her face. I didn't want this happiness to ever go away from her face.

I stopped tickling her but she was still giggling. I just stared at her. Taking in every detail of her face. After a few seconds, she stopped laughing and stared back at me and blushed.

We just kept looking into each other's eyes and I started leaning in.

When our lips were just a few centimeters away, Aryan came rushing in through the door.

"Ahana ma said we have to get rea-Oh Oh! Ah! My eyes! My pure eyes! Ma!!!" he shouted and ran downstairs.

We pulled back and she got up and sat and I moved away from her. "I think I should uh go. I'll see you later. You can have the food. I've kept it on the table. Bye." I said scratching the nape of my neck.

She straightened up on her bed and said, "Yea uhm okay. Bye. I'll see you there" I nodded and went towards the door.

"Rehaan?"

I turned around. "Yea?"

She smiled and said, "Thanks for the food. It was very thoughtful of you." I nodded. "You're welcome."

I left and saw Aryan smirking and his mother smiling knowingly at me. I could feel the heat creeping up my neck. I said a 'bye' and went towards my car.

I sat inside the car and saw her window which was visible from the parking lot. I saw her standing there and waving. I waved back and couldn't help laugh about what happened before. I could see her laughing too.

Today was the best day ever.
