Chapter 27

Rehaan's P.O.V

"My father was unable to attend this meeting and hence I am here. He has informed you, hasn't he?" She asked. I nodded. "Let's get to business?" At least she's being professional. "Yes. So your company .." The meeting went on for an hour and I was glad she didn't try anything on me. A huge relief. Maybe people were right. We shouldn't judge a book by its cover.

"We can take a break if you want." I stated. "That would be nice. Thank you." She replied. I nodded and stood up. "You can have whatever you want. The coffee machine is right outside if you want some. Anything else you can ask my P.A." I told her.

She nodded. She left outside and I saw her getting coffee. "So.. is she how the papers describe her to be?" Mrs Leslie asked from behind me.

"Surprisingly, no. She's very professional. Well at least here she is." I said. A look of surprise passed on her face. "What? Really? She didn't try to hit on you?" she asked. Yea, my P.A is very blunt.

"Nope. She didn't try anything. I actually felt comfortable." I replied. "That's.. good. I guess." She said. "Yea it is. Why'd you say it like that though?" I asked her.

"Its just that Rehaan, so many people have said negative things about her. I feel she might be faking here." She said. "I don't know. I can't really judge." I said. Mrs Leslie nodded and was about to say something when we were interrupted by Bethany.

"Shall we continue, Mr Malhotra?" she asked. I nodded, "Yes Miss Lloyd." The meeting went on for about two hours and then we were finally done.

"Okay Miss Lloyd, I will let you know my decision soon." I told her. "Okay Mr Malhotra. You do have my father's number and email, right?" I nodded. "Yes I do." I shook her hand and she left.

Bethany's P.O.V

I drove back to my apartment and saw.. my dad there? What was he doing here? "Dad?" He turned around. "Bethany. I wanted to talk to you about your 'meeting' with Rehaan Malhotra." He said.

I rolled my eyes. "It went fine." I said. "Bethany. This is a huge deal. You should feel grateful that I even let you go there when I could've done it myself." He said. "Dad. You shouldn't have let me go then if it's a 'huge deal' and if 'you could've gone'."

I heard him sigh, "Bethany, I was the one who supposed to go. And that was until you rushed to me, begging to me. You said you wanted to go there. I lied and let you go. You know how much I hate lying. And this is a huge huge deal. I am tired of you begging to me to do things which can get extremely risky. I am not doing anything more Bethany. You're on your own."

"Father, just one more favour. Just one." I said.

"Please daddy?" I said, giving him a very sad look. I heard him sigh. Yes! This always works. "Fine. But this is the last time. What do you want?" he asked giving me a stern yet weary look.

"I want Rehaan, daddy." I whispered in his ear. He immediately pulled away. "What?!" he said. "I want Rehaan Malhotra dad." I said.

"Think about it dad. I marry him. Our businesses come together. Isn't that what you want?" I continued. I knew I was getting him.

He sighed. "Fine. If he agrees to marry you, then fine. But I don't think that'll happen Bethany." He said. What?! Why not?!

"He's dating someone. I heard from Jason. He works for Rehaan." Dad explained. What. The. Hell. I will not let some stupid girl get in between Rehaan and me.

"Is she famous?" I asked my dad. "Apparently no. From what I heard, she comes from an ordinary family." An ordinary non-famous stupid girl?! "Does he like her?" I asked.

"As you know, Rehaan isn't the one to have flings and dates. But this one, apparently, seems to be very important to him." He said.

Every sentence my dad spoke ignited a fire inside me. I hate that girl. Who does she even think she is?!
"Bethany. You are not going to ruin someone's relationship." My dad said. I rolled my eyes. "Maybe she's just tricking him into dating her." I stated. My dad sighed. "Or maybe he genuinely likes her." He said. "No!" I responded immediately.

He sighed. "You'll find a better suitor, Bethany. Don't run behind a man who's already in a relationship." Dad said.

"What if he agrees dad? Then will you let me have him?" I asked. He sighed and nodded. "Then okay. But only if he agrees. And Bethany, don't have high expectations and hopes. I've spoken to Rehaan and he isn't someone who'll suddenly like another person." He said.

"Okay."

"And don't do anything to the girl, okay?" he said. I rolled my eyes. "Bethany answer." "I won't dad. I won't do anything to the girl." I said. "Promise me." He pressed. "Dad!" I groaned. "Promise me, Bethany." He repeated. "Fine! I promise!" I snapped. My dad nodded and left.

As soon as I saw my dad leave, I called my friend. "Jay? I want you to do something for me."
