(After the priest finished reciting his mantras, the shawl is removed and the couple look at each other. Guests shower the couple with Akshata (unbroken rice grains) and the two exchange garlands, this is known to be Sankalp Ritual)

Panditji- ab vadhu ke pita kantadan je liye aage aayein...

(This ritual involves the father of the bride giving his daughter's hand to the groom. The groom then ties a mangalsutra around the neck of the bride and applies sindoor on her hair parting. The bride applies a chandan (sandalwood) tikka on the groom's forehead)

Panditji- abb gathbandhan keliye var ki behen upar aajaiye...

Karishma- ji panditji...

(Gathbandhan symbolises the union of the bride and groom in a sacramental bond for the rest of their lives. In the literal sense, it is the nuptial knot that sanctifies the coming together of two individuals)

Ammi- achese baandhna karishma, inki gaanth saathve janam hi kya uske aage jitne janam ho uss sab janam mein tutni nahi chahiye...

Karishma- ji ammi....(she did the gathbandhan and caressed haseena's cheek) khush rahiye dono...

Panditji- abb aap saptapadi keliye khade ho jaaiye....

(The couple takes seven rounds around the holy fire. The bride is required to touch seven betel nuts placed on top of small mounds of rice with her right foot. Once the seven rounds are done, she places her foot on a grindstone, while the groom holds her hand or foot, symbolizing that she needs to be strong and he will always support her)

Veyom- haan churane toh hain, par woh joote karishma aur santu ke nighrane mein hain, kaise churaye...

iska matlab hain यहाँ कन्या वर से पहला वचन मांग रही है कि यदि आप कभी तीर्थयात्रा करने जाएं तो मुझे भी अपने संग लेकर जाइएगा. यदि आप कोई व्रत-उपवास अथवा अन्य धार्मिक कार्य करें तो आज की भांति ही मुझे अपने वाम भाग (बांई ओर) में बिठाएं. यदि आप इसे स्वीकार करते हैं तो मैं आपके वामांग में आना स्वीकार करती हूँ.

(Translation- Here the girl is demanding the first promise from the groom that if you ever go on a pilgrimage, then take me along with you. If you do any fasting or any other religious work, then like today, make me sit in your left side (left side). If you accept it, then I accept to come to your wish)

Panditji- पुज्यौ यथा स्वौ पितरौ ममापि तथेशभक्तो निजकर्म कुर्या:,
वामांगमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति कन्या वचनं द्वितीयम !!
iska matlab hain दूसरे वचन में कन्या वर से मांग रही है कि जिस प्रकार आप अपने माता-पिता का सम्मान करते हैं, उसी प्रकार मेरे माता-पिता का भी सम्मान करें तथा परिवार की मर्यादा के अनुसार धर्मानुष्ठान करते हुए ईश्वर भक्त बने रहें. यदि आप इसे स्वीकार करते हैं तो मैं आपके वामांग में आना स्वीकार करती हूँ.

(Translation- In the second verse, the girl is asking the groom to respect my parents as you respect your parents and remain a devotee of God while performing religious rituals according to family norms. If you accept it, then I accept to come to your wish)

Panditji- जीवनम अवस्थात्रये मम पालनां कुर्यात,
वामांगंयामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति कन्या वचनं तृ्तीयं !!
iska matlab hain तीसरे वचन में कन्या कहती है कि आप मुझे ये वचन दें कि आप जीवन की तीनों अवस्थाओं (युवावस्था, प्रौढ़ावस्था, वृद्धावस्था) में मेरा पालन करते रहेंगे. यदि आप इसे स्वीकार करते हैं तो मैं आपके वामांग में आना स्वीकार करती हूँ.

(Translation- In the third verse, the girl says that you promise me that you will continue to follow me in all the three stages of life (youth, adulthood, old age). If you accept it, then I accept to come to your wish)

Panditji- कुटुम्बसंपालनसर्वकार्य कर्तु प्रतिज्ञां यदि कातं कुर्या:,
वामांगमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति कन्या वचनं चतुर्थं !!
iska matlab hain चौथे वचन में वधू ये कहती है कि अब जबकि आप विवाह बंधन में बँधने जा रहे हैं तो भविष्य में परिवार की समस्त आवश्यकताओं की पूर्ति का दायित्व आपके कंधों पर है. यदि आप इस भार को वहन करने की प्रतिज्ञा करें तो मैं आपके वामांग में आना स्वीकार करती हूँ.

(Translation- In the fourth verse, the bride says that now that you are going to tie the knot, the responsibility of fulfilling all the needs of the family in the future is on your shoulders. If you pledge to bear this burden, then I accept to come to your request)

Panditji- स्वसद्यकार्ये व्यवहारकर्मण्ये व्यये मामापि मन्त्रयेथा,
वामांगमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रूते वच: पंचमत्र कन्या !!
iska matlab hain पांचवें वचन में कन्या कहती है कि अपने घर के कार्यों में, विवाह आदि, लेन-देन अथवा अन्य किसी हेतु खर्च करते समय यदि आप मेरी भी राय लिया करें तो मैं आपके वामांग में आना स्वीकार करती हूँ.

(Translation- In the fifth verse, the girl says that if you take my advice while spending money for your household chores, marriage etc., transactions or for any other purpose, then I will agree to come in your favor)

Panditji- न मेपमानमं सविधे सखीनां द्यूतं न वा दुर्व्यसनं भंजश्चेत,
वामाम्गमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति कन्या वचनं च षष्ठम !!
iska matlab hain छठवें वचन में कन्या कहती है कि यदि मैं कभी अपनी सहेलियों या अन्य महिलाओं के साथ बैठी रहूँ तो आप सामने किसी भी कारण से मेरा अपमान नहीं करेंगे. इसी प्रकार यदि आप जुआ अथवा अन्य किसी भी प्रकार की बुराइयों अपने आप को दूर रखें तो ही मैं आपके वामांग में आना स्वीकार करती हूँ.

(Translation- In the sixth verse, the girl says that if I ever sit with my friends or other women, you will not insult me ​​for any reason in front of me. Similarly, if you keep yourself away from gambling or any other kind of evils, then only I will accept to come to your Wamang)

Panditji- परस्त्रियं मातृसमां समीक्ष्य स्नेहं सदा चेन्मयि कान्त कुर्या,
वामांगमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रूते वच: सप्तममत्र कन्या !!
iska matlab hain आखिरी या सातवें वचन के रूप में कन्या ये वर मांगती है कि आप पराई स्त्रियों को मां समान समझेंगें और पति-पत्नि के आपसी प्रेम के मध्य अन्य किसी को भागीदार न बनाएंगें. यदि आप यह वचन मुझे दें तो ही मैं आपके वामांग में आना स्वीकार करती हूँ.

(Translation- As the last or seventh promise, the girl asks for a boon that you will consider other women as mother and will not make anyone else a partner in the mutual love between husband and wife. If you give me this promise, then only I will accept to come in your favor)

Pandit ji- ab Karmasamapti Rasm...

(This ritual is known to be Karmasamapti Rasm...In this ritual, the bride's father along with the couple pray to god for blessings. A add some fun, the bride's brother playfully twists the groom's ear, warning him that he better treat his sister well)

Panditji- vadhu ke bhai aage aaye aur var ka kaan mode aur mere piche kahiye...(veyom came forward and pulled Anubhav's ear)

Panditji- abb var vadhu ke bhai ko shagun dijiye aur bhai var kea aashirwaad le...
