"King Of Galahad" (A Fable Poem by Gypsy)
I wrote this whole waiting to go home a bunch of songs were playing I can't just pinpoint one I mean Lucky Man then Karn Evil 9 then Burning Bridges... C'est La Vie...Pirates... I'd say it's a large mixture...
Any here's, "The King Of Galahad" originally it was untitled but then I got to was a young lad in a land named from Sir Galahad and bam that's the name!!
He was decked in gold and velvet from head to toe
He sat upon his jewel encrusted large king's throne
He wished to be a knight at the round table of Arthur
But destiny had other plans for this young ruler
He wanted to fight side by side all the other young men
Though the clergymen highly forbids this noble action
So he sits in a palace and resides over the whole court
With a Queen by his side he doesn't really care for
He longs for those fields he had wandered as a young lad
The vast green grass hilly town named for Sir Galahad
Tis but a dream now he can only imagine when left alone
For when amongst the subjects he must remain regal
His bride knows the adoration isn't there but she remains
He had no interest in her from the beginning he loved a maid
Though they both put up with this happy ever after facade
But come the evening in different beds they separately lay
He always thought he'd wed his young love from faraway
One day she would return to him and this time she'd stay
But his father sent out invitations to all the eligible roses
In the end he was force to take the one the king had chosen
