AKL Part 18
Part 18
Khushi and Arnav – both are disturbed by the incident held in college before they left. They are not thinking about Rahul. They are thinking about each other.
Arnav remembered her scared and tensed figure. He felt really bad about her. He is angry on him for not taking care of her. He is angry on Rahul for hurting her. When he remembered her tearful eyes, he felt a pain in his heart. He wants to remove her pain by taking her in his arms like he did. When her remembered the time she hugged him, he thinks about how her body fitted in his arms. How he felt completeness, when she hugged him. Her soft body, her hands around his shoulders, her face on his chest – everything seems correct. And he felt very happy when Khushi got relaxed after their hug. He remembered her pouting face at lunch time. A small cute smile appeared on his lips, when he remembered his state by seeing her pout. With very much difficulty he controlled himself from not kissing her adorable pout. He wondered how she became most important and beautiful part of his life.
Here, in girls' hostel, Khushi's condition is not less than Arnav's. She remembered how much Arnav got tensed seeing her crying, how much he tried to ease her pain and how much he got angered by seeing that Rahul. She thought how her body fitted in his arms. How she felt completeness, when he hugged her. His hard body, his strong one hand around her back and another on her head, she felt so secured in his arms. When she placed her face on his chest – everything seems correct. She felt like she belongs to him. He is her destiny. She wants to spend her life with him, only with him. After this evening, her decision, her feeling about Arnav got strong, her slight doubt about whether her decision is correct or wrong, left from her mind. Now she is completely into Arnav. He is her life. She decided...
They both are thinking about comfortableness in each other. They are strong and sure about their feelings now. They want to spend their lives with each other. They are very happy now. They want to be close with each other. They are looking forward to meet each other tomorrow at fresher's party. Both Arnav and Khushi went to deep sleep thinking about each other and dreaming about each other.
The night turned into morning, giving break to everyone's wait. The morning brought a bright warm smile on each and every face along with it.
Fine Arts and management blocks in Mumbai University are filled with the joy and happiness. The excitement rose and reached a crescendo at the campus. All the senior students are waiting to welcome their juniors. All the junior students are waiting to know about the preparations and how they going to be welcomed. And the lecturers are waiting to see all their students at one place.
Fun and frolic, grooves and games, sassy outfits and a dash of makeup – common words in the dictionary of a party lover. To party is to celebrate and that is what the Freshers of Mumbai University did, to mark the beginning of one of the most exciting times of their lives.
There was a slight change in the venue of the party as compared to previous years. The stage was bigger this time around - The Auditorium under massive floodlights and a thunderous music console. Apart from the venue, everything was in accordance to 'tradition'. Flanked by seniors at the entrance, each fresher's mouth was stuffed with Jilebies and Gulab Jamun (Indian sweets). Dressed in colorful gowns and trendy outfits, Mumbai University girls were indeed looking their very best, which was complimented well by the immaculately dressed boys. The fresh faces at the campus were extended a warm welcome by their seniors.
When all the seniors are busy welcoming their juniors, two pairs of eyes are searching each other. When they found their destined personality, they are just lost their trance in each other's eyes. Both of them smiled at each other. Both their hearts swelled with happiness by receiving a bright smile from each other. Their trance got disturbed by loud shouts other students. Feeling little bit embarrassed and shy they both went to auditorium along with other students. All the students sat in their respected seats to let the program started. All the faculty was seated in front rows followed by juniors and then seniors. Arnav and others made sure they sat exactly back row of Khushi's. Either Arnav or Aman is ready to leave Khushi alone. They want to be with her all the time particularly after yesterday evening's incident with Rahul.
Continuing with the proud tradition of the college, senior students and newcomers of the college mingled with each other at the fresher's welcome party held in the college auditorium. The Chancellor inaugurated the event with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp along with the convenor and members of the Cultural Committee of MU. Later the program continued with the prayer by third year music student and followed by some speeches from the faculty.
Speaking on the occasion, Dean, Mumbai University, mentioned, "We welcome the new students at our esteemed institution and celebrate the beginning of college life by breaking communication barriers through fresher's party."
It was a fun filled event at which the fresher's got an opportunity not only to showcase their talents and but also to interact with the seniors.
After the inauguration, the programs were started with a dance performance by the seniors. What's special about these parties at MU is that each department gets to welcome their freshers in its own inimitable style. This brings in a humungous variety of ideas and creative displays that are really enthralling.
Here each department creatively weaved an idea and managed to execute it to the best of their abilities. But the difference is the freshers of all Fine Arts and Management departments should have to participate in every event.
The Department of FD decided to go back in time. The clothes worn by the second years depicted the style of the times gone by. Games were organized for first years where they had to eat raw vegetables and burst balloons. This was followed by a Fashion Show. Boys and girls scorched the ramp with their cat walk amidst the whistles and deafening 'woohoos'! Sneha Kapoor stood out really well.
Visual Arts: The artists decided to go down memory lane and hence adopted the Retro theme. Their party began with a speech by a Music department student from the third year. Freshers of music department were asked to perform. Being an energetic and lively student of the department, Khushi gave her best performance. Every student and lecturer, who presented there were mesmerized by Khushi voice. Everyone thought she is singer by birth.
Aman and Anjali were felt really happy for the response which Khushi got from the entire students. They looked at Arnav, who is deeply observing Khushi's. He is very much into her voice. He loved her voice as he loves her. He wants to hear her voice daily, before going to start and end the day. He got disturbed when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned to his side and found his DI and Aman standing there smiling at Khushi. "She is an amazing singer. Isn't she Chote?" asked Anjali.
"She is" said Arnav, smiling back to them.
After Khushi performance, some other students also performed. But, no one get the response which Khushi got. Later, And next the Talent round, where every interested fresher is allowed to flaunt his/her skill. They had a very interesting round this year with a record number of students volunteering. Mimicry, dancing, acting, singing... they had it all. NK's act and Lavanya's monologue on experiences at MU so far, were the most hilarious. And Aishwarya's energetic dance is worth appreciating too!
Then, the first years were divided into six groups for a hairdressing competition wherein they had to use their creativity and style the hair of their fellow mates. But here, something is different. Girls should make over for boys with their short hair. The teachers were the judges. The freshers were then given the chance to exhibit their talents. Sandwiches, brownies and bhel puris filled their stomachs. According to the teachers, this was the best fresher's party ever hosted by the Fine Arts and Management Departments.
After this, senior students conducted a contest for electing Mr. And Ms. Fresher. The contest included several rounds involving singing, dancing, talent display and the like, which wove the magic of fun and joy in to the event. They conducted this contest separately for boys and girls.
Based on their performance in the initial rounds, eight of the 20 contestants moved in to the elimination rounds. In the last and final "Questionnaire Round", the contestants had to prove that they were persons with beauty and brains and had the presence of mind and confidence to not only to give the correct answers but also to communicate these properly and effectively.
At the end of the very enjoyable competition, Khushi was crowned as "Miss Fresher" along with the title of "Ms. Smile". Ms. Nisha from FD department and Ms. Tina from Painting department were declared as the first and second runners up. Lavanya won the title of "Miss Cat Walk" and Payal won the "Miss Confidence". And "Miss Hair and Eyes" title went to Ms. Heena and Ms. Divya of Management department.

After the competitions, it was for the fresher's and seniors to rock the fresher party with dancing and grooving.
After this various events, and the Mr. and Ms Fresher were crowned, with pulsating ambience, flashing lights and foot tapping music, the party goes on with a blast how it started. The excitement augmented to a joyful high when the Couple Dance began. Here all the seniors and juniors are participated. As the mercury began to rise, the dance floor was left open for some unbridled energy. Joy and happiness could be seen in students of each and every course at the college. They were having the time of their lives. There was a dress code for the students for this event 'couple dance' – Red and Black; Red and White; Blue and Black; Blue and White, and Black and white. Arnav is taken care of this, to see his lady love in his favourite colour.
When Arnav saw Khushi, he forgot to breathe. He was mesmerized to see Khushi in Red. She is looking stunning in red Anarkali with black and silver color work on hands with matching black bottom and veil. Arnav felt his heart beat changed rapidly. He knows the exact reason for that. He couldn't take his eyes from her. 'She is looking beautiful, breathtaking – my angel' – he thought.
On the other side, When Khushi saw him – Arnav in Red shirt and Black denim outfit which showed his perfect six pack body and perfectly curled up biceps. She felt amazing by the sight in front of her. She is openly drooling over him. He is looking breath taking with his black ray ban sunglasses. 'He is looking manly, handsome – my Prince charming' – she thought.
She showed her feelings and expressions as excitement of the party, when she noticed Arnav's stare on her. She succeeded in not showing her feelings for Arnav. All the remaining students did wear their selected dress code. Aman and Anjali did wear Blue and White; unintentionally and unexpectedly NK and Lavanya Blue and black; Akash and Payal Black and white.
When all the seniors and juniors made pairs and went to dance floor, Arnav came to Khushi and asked her for dance. Khushi instantly get shocked but immediately changed her expression and agreed for dance. When they both went to dance floor, they felt their heart beat is racing up. But they want to cherish this moment, without knowing others feelings. When they got ready for dance, Arnav held Khushi by her waist, which send current through both their bodies. Both closed their eyes feeling the moment. They are enjoying each other presence. They both forgot their surroundings feelings each other's warmth. When the music changed, Arnav held Khushi more close to him. His hands on her back caressing her long black hair, where as Khushi's on his chest. They unknowingly hugged each other as like they are in some trance. They can feel each other's heart beat. They both felt relaxed by feeling each other so close. They broke the hug and looked at each other's eyes, to find their place in their mate's heart. Their trance got break with the change of song with loud music. They immediately let go off others, and felt little bit embarrassed.
To clear the embarrassment they are feeling now, Arnav took Khushi to his siblings, who sat after finishing their dance. All are feeling exhausted.

This is the worst and boring update, isn't it? But I can't do anything. Sorry for that.
As a Fine Arts (Painting) student, I know how the fresher's party will be in FA department. I can guess how it will be when it comes to JJ school of Fine Arts, Mumbai University. One of my friends used to say how they enjoyed their welcoming party. So I tried my level best to write. I also took Google help.
Hope you guys liked it
