What Now...?

Himeyura was found and brought to a place of safety. He apparently had no idea what was going on and still technically doesn't, now. His house was found raided when he got home and accidentally bumped into Sakura on the way to the police. She had quickly offered him to stay at her house, which was quiet and traditional, north of Tokyo. He reluctantly accepted and she helpfully provided, trusting he took care of himself while she went out to war, which he did. All the police had told him (under America and Japan's request, since they decided not to show Himeyura their faces) that the 'men' who raided his house were extremely dangerous and he needed to come with them. Himeyura calmly went along, thanking Sakura graciously for her hospitality, but...

Next World Meeting, Back in the London Location (Repaired)...

Everyone seemed to be looking completely fine as much as injuries went. The 2p Hetalian attacks were almost over, Centers nearly filled with the enemy, still acting as relentless as ever. America was starting to think that they were possessed creatures or something. Anyways...

America starts, standing up with a less-tired smile on his face, "I'm glad to see that you are all looking well and healthy."

"Pff, that sounds like something Japan would say," France chuckled. Countries could already feel the normal atmosphere of the World Meetings returning slowly.

"Speaking of Japan..." Russia spoke up, surprisingly not in a threatening way, but more in a worried and nervous way.

"Hai, we had cleared up the situation with Himeyura-san," Japan reassured, "He's in a safe location still has no idea what's going on, but is safe," a silence draped itself over the room. Japan looked like he wanted to say something else but nervously keeps his mouth shut. Everyone stared at him expectantly, waiting for him to say something else.

"And..." China prompted, but Japan didn't say anything. China, catching what this meant, felt his face pale and crossed in an expression of confusion, "Wait, that's it, aru? We've secured Himeyura, then what?"

"That's," America raked his fingers through his hair, "what we're confused about."

The countries started murmuring to each other, thoroughly confused about this. Now that they had Himeyura, the man that the 2p Hetalians wanted, what the heck are they supposed to do with him? He knows nothing about the Hetalians or the war's combatants in any case, so there are no means of interrogating him. Sakura told America and Japan earlier if he knew what was going on, (something about casually talking about the war, apparently she's interrogated people, 2p Hetalians maybe, with much practice in the past), but came up with nothing. He's an innocent slate with no knowledge of his own fandom.

They're literally at a freaking dead end.

America found himself thinking about Amelia. He wonders what she meant in that recording. She said she's coming back, but her legs are injured. The attacks are dwindling rapidly and he feels like this war is coming to a close. One of the weirdest wars ever. It felt like one of Europe's Eurovisions. Build-up. Chaos. Gone. And maybe a little aftermath. While he was at Japan's place, he sent a couple searches for Amelia while they were searching for Himeyura. The 2p Hetalian base is not in Japan, but while they combed the area, they found a lot of branch bases.

So, if she wasn't there, where the heck is she? America's brow furrowed further at the thought, the puzzle knawing at him in all the wrong ways. He felt the same way when everyone deported from the British bunker about 15-20 minutes apart.

America heard a small beep from his com. He tiredly pressed it, "Hello?"

Russia's voice spoke childishly, per usual, but tiredly, "Privet, America. I was wondering if I could come over sometime to your place?"

"Mm, that's fine," America said flippantly. He didn't mind Russia up to this point and vice versa. In fact, this might've been the closest he's ever been to the other countries during wartime. But he couldn't help but notice the dripping feeling of dread coloring Russia's voice black.

It felt the same way when Amelia didn't come to the office that very day.
