3rd Person Pov

In the inhabitable north where only artic animals exist, 2 people are seen hiding in a great distance between a enraged wolf infected with Oripathy. The wolf was eating its prey and seems to be still in a rage mode

One of the people was male with a rifle that looks a tranquilizer, while the person besides him was a female, holding a range finder, finding just how far the hungry predator is

Magallan: Range is 25 meters, can you take the shot?

Y/N: You didnt have to ask

As he squeeze down the trigger, a dart shoots out of the barrel, travelling at great speeds and moments after, the beast was hit in the body, rampaging at first but its movements begin to get sloppier and sloppier and soon...it dropped unconscious

Arknights!

Y/N Pov, Rhine Lab research ship

As we had set our course back to Columbia (America in the Arknights universe) and i was having lunch with my pet eagle on the table with Magallan on the table talking to Silence

Silence: On Radio How is Y/N doing by the way. Has he took his daily medication?

Magallan: Yes, he did. We're now on course back to Columbia and be home by a few days

Silence: Thats good to hear. Also, there's a slight change in your arrival. You see, things havent been good here

Y/N: Yeah, we've heard about the Chernobog incident. So things may be rough when we get there

Silence: Yes, that is true but we have someone to fetch you there. A group called Penguin Logistics will fetch the both of you can bring to Rhodes Island, i'll be waiting for the both of you at Rhodes Island. Good luck

Soon, Silence's cut off the radio on her side while the radio started playing static. Magallan layed her head on the table, exhausted from moving the equipment to the ship while i continue to eat my lunch as we continue to drift on the sea

A few days later

Me and Magallan were on the deck of the research ship and i was using my sharp eagle eyes to look at the docks. I couldnt help but look at the horrifying damage done to the city by a the Reunion movement

I had my tranquilizer rifle loaded with a poison dart and a live rifle if things went south

At the pier, 2 women were seen and they look like they were waiting for us

Magallan: Its them, both of them had the exact features Silence gave us

Y/N: Okay

I put away my Tranquilizer and put it back inside the case. Me and Magallan got our stuff as we prepare to disembark the ship

Y/N: You must be Exusiai and Texas

Exusiai: Yup! Pleasure to meet ya! Oohh, pretty eagle

Texas: Nods

Y/N: Did Silence told you our names or do we have to make some sort of introduction

Texas: Can we just get this over with...

Magallan: Well...you can start by helping us carry our equipment

Y/N: And can Luna fit in the vehicle?

Texas: Sort of...

Exusiai: Alright! Where shall we start!

Short timeskip

As we were loading our equipment in the Van, Texas was lifting up a duffle bag that she was having trouble carrying

Texas: Grrr! Just what the hell is in this bag

As soon as she puts it on the trunk, she curiously opens the bag and found a live rifle from within the bag

Y/N: Please do mind of other people's stuff

I close the zipper of the bag and went inside the van. As soon as i hop inside, i saw that Texas and Exusiai werent alone

Y/N: Oh...there's more of you guys...

The Ginger girl spoke up

Ginger: Hello! You must be Y/N and the other is Magallan, right? Dr. Silence talks about you too sometimes

Y/N: Yeah

Then at the very back was a girl dressed as an Idol

Idol girl: Ooh! Thats a nice bird you got there! Does he have a name?

Y/N: She does, her name is Luna

Idol girl: Pretty!

Texas: Alright, all of that is done

Exusiai: Lets go back to Rhodes Island!

Texas turns the engine on and begins to drive. I look out the window on the damage that has been dealt to the city, Chernobog's situation might be worse than here

Y/N: Have you guys fought the Reunion?

Penguin Logistics: Yeah

Y/N: I see

I hold Luna tight in my arms to prevent her from breaking free and causing any potential trouble. Luna sure has gotten bigger, she was just smaller when we went to Rhine Lab

Suddenly, the car went to a halt which caught all of us off guard. Texas clicks her tounge in annoyance as she looks down the road

Exusiai: Ahh crap. We werent expecting Reunion forces

Y/N: So thats Reunion?

Exusiai readies her Kriss Vector but i lowered her hand and shake my head to her

Y/N: Thats alot of them. Neither of us can take them all down. Texas, hit the pedal. Magallan, hold Luna for a minute

Texas: Are you out of your mind!? You see that big guy over there. He'll stop this car with a swing of his axe!

Magallan: Ms. Texas, i trust Y/N on this one. Just do it

As Magallan was covering for me, i got my sidearm of a pistol blowgun. I reveal a hallucination dart as the feather is blue at the end of it. I load the dart on the gun and i nod at Texas

Y/N: Floor it

Texas: Tch! Damn it, fine!

I open the sun roof of the van and i aim it at the armored militant, as i squeeze down the trigger, the dart whoosh out of the gun and successfully hit the target on the neck

I load another dart next to a reunion member and he was hit as well on the body. I took cover as soon as crossbow men started shooting at me

Texas: Im gonna hit the brakes-!

As we were now a few inches away from the armed militant, he didnt respond to the vehicle's presence but held his head as if he was in immense pain

The van soon drove past the enemy formation and we could hear a beast like screams coming from behind and soon, the cries of the despair as the Reunion forces started attacking their hallucinated members

The Penguin Logistic girls were stunned and reliefed at what had just happened

Texas: W-What the hell was that dart? That sure isnt sedatives....

Y/N: Hallucinogenic dart...im a chemistry expert by the way. The effects of that dart is gonna be painful for them in long run

Sora: Man, Rhine Lab sure are a bunch of nerds but man! That was amazing!

Y/N: It was nothing, really

Magallan: How far till we get to Rhodes Island?

Exusiai: Its gonna take a while so buckle up

Timeskip

After a few hours of travelling the road, the vehicle went off course and towards a different location. I was generally confused but suddenly, i can feel the ground shaking and it gets stronger as the van goes to the epicenter of the rumbling

Suddenly, as we exit the tree line, all of us saw a giant landship roaming the barren unpopulated land

Yes, that is literally Rhodes Island

Scene change

As we were flown in via helicopter and i see a few people at the landing site waiting for our arrival

The Helicopter soon lands at the LZ and everyone disembark while the Penguin Logistic girls were unpacking our equipment

Soon, familiar faces approaches me and Magallan

Silence: Y/N, Magallan. Welcome back, how was your journey

Magallan: Yes Dr. Silence, its good to be back

Y/N: Yeah, im done with the North's freezing temperature

Ptilopsis: Ptilopsis welcomes both of you back with open arms

She forced herself to smile and i couldnt help but blush from Ptilopsis' effort

Ptilopsis: Welcome home, Y/N

And soon, a guy in dark clothing with his hood up approaches me and Magallan

Doctor: Good Evening both of you, i am the Doctor of Rhodes Island and right now, its a bit late for introductions. Please meet me tommorow morning and send a file report

Magllan & Y/N: Okay

Doctor: Silence, please fill them in

Silence: Sure thing, Doctor

Scene change

Me and Magallan followed Silence and Ptilopsis around Rhodes Island and there were alot of people around here. It was crowded but not cramped

The hallways were lively and there must have been some sort of news that there were new arrivals here

Silence opens a glass door and a stroke of Nostalgia hits me

Silence: Welcome back to Rhine Lab you two

As soon as i step inside the Marble floors, Luna flew off my shoulder and went to take a rest at the tree at the center of the lobby

Magallan: Indeed! Good to be back Dr. Silence!

Even though it looks like the place i used to work at, our offices are now different. There were 6 offices door for all of us

One of the door opens and a familiar co-worker steps out to greet us

Mayer: Ahhh~! Y/N, Magallan! I forgot! Today was your arrival!

Mayer rushed towards us and gave us a warm welcome back embrace. I could only chuckle at Mayer's actions

Silence: I also recieve the multiple reports of your expedition and the Doctor himself praises your work. It was a big contribution in his research. Also, Y/N, i filled a file to both Doctor and Dr. Kaltsit

Y/N: Eh?

Silence: I told them about your condition and they want to see an X-ray of your infection

Y/N: Sigh Alright then

Magallan: I think its better if we rest first, arrange our equipment and then lets talk

After a few minutes of arranging my equipment to my new office / lab, i place my vials of poison, sedatives and hallucinogenics. I also saw that Silence and Ptilopsis has been taking care of my plants

And those plants were Wolfsbane and Devil snare. The former is a poisonous plant and the latter is a Hallucenogenic plant. Used for my darts when it comes to it

After a couple more minutes of re-organizing, i was now complete and organized. The vials are in a safe locations, my tranq. rifle and tranq. pistol were hanging on the wall and last but not the least...my live rifle

I left my office and went to the main lobby to see the Rhine Lab bunch waiting outside, drinking hot cocoa and coffee

Ifrit: Hey! Bird brain! Long time no see

Y/N: Chuckles You havent changed at all Ifrit

Ifrit smiles at me while i sat down to relax at the lobby. I close my eyes for a moment and horrible past memories begin to flood in my mind

I was slightly disturbed and my heart continues to beat faster from fear, i was getting shortness of breath and i opened my eyes again to stop the memories

The next day

I was at the Doctor's office and i was submitting a file report to Doctor

Doctor: Y/N...you're a chemist expert in utilizing sedatives and poison. Not only that, you also have a loyal companion with you. Someone like you in Rhodes Island is surely needed. I appreciate your motivation to work here

Y/N: No need for praises Doc. I just couldnt leave the people i consider as family....

Doctor: And according to a report by Silence, you are currently infected with Oripathy and orignium shards are present within the surface of your epidermis and...shards are present on an organ of yours....as well as physical mutations of abnormal numbers of feathers growing on some parts of the body

Y/N: Correct. I was also instructed to meet with Dr. Kaltsit to get a check up

Scene change, 3rd Person

Y/N lays down on a table and was about to be inserted in a MRI to scan his body while Dr. Kaltsit and Silence watches at the other side of the glass. Silence who knows about Y/N's condition, watches as he was about to get scanned

Soon, the monitors projected an image of his body and presence of orignium shards were present at the chest area

Silence: Shards are here and here. He also has also developed orignium crystals...here

Silence points at the heart of Y/N while Kaltsit was thinking of what could have happened

Kaltsit: Is there a reason on why he had crystals on a vital organ?

Silence: Back in Rhine Lab, he suddenly collpased, all of us thought he had accidentally poisoned himself while handling his plants but a closer inspection revealed that he was infected, not poisoned. The reason is still unknown to me

Kaltsit: Where did you meet him?

Silence: He...just showed up out of nowhere...

Kaltsit looks at the monitor again to take a closer inspection of Y/N's heart and Kaltsit's medical staffs were surprised on his critical conditions
