Aftermath
The screen begins with the Y.M.C emblem popping up, though this time Lin's name was not present.
It then shifted to an overhead view of the Sargonian continent as the Satellite tracks to the southwest region as the audience could see smoke coming out of the city.
When the satellite zoomed closer, it shows the explosion from the Nuke.
"That is the result of the explosion?!" W said in utter disbelief. Though she did not say it with her usual smile.
"It's...so big..."Melantha gasped.
"Something has happened." A male Yanese newscaster said.
It was followed by a male Victorian newscaster. "What appears to be an explosion of epic proportions!"
"Reports remain sketchy and unconfirmed at this time..." A Columbian female newscaster stated.
"Damage appears to be total." said a male Leithanian newscaster.
The satellite then tracks the nuclear explosion, observing the size of the cloud along the area surrounding the explosion that is definitely damaged from it.
"Oh god..." Folinic observed the effect of the nuclear explosion. The fact that it is visible from the eyes of the satellite proves how large it is.
The male Yanese newscaster continued. "...to set off what appears to have been a nuclear explosion in his own country..."
"What I can see from the hotel here is a mushroom cloud, about 45 by..." a female Siracusan newscaster said before it was cut off by the Victorian newscaster.
"Maybe the start of something larger that on whether Drudge Tulla was among the victims in what may have been a suicidal..."
Then a female Kazimierzian newscaster cut in. "...Continue to burn across a massive wasteland, that was once a capital for this thriving nation."
The satellite then uploads four list of names of the marines that perished to the nuclear explosion. There were so many that the audience could not track up with the names since the lists scrolled down very fast.
Amiya's eyes went wide from the amount of casualties from that nuke alone, so did most of the operators here. She could not believe that thousands of those souls have been extinguished by a single explosion.
"So many lives has lost..." Ch'en uttered.
"Am i...one of them?" Swire asked fearfully. She could not imagine seeing herself dead on-screen.
"I-I don't know..." Hoshiguma said.
Then they saw that one of the names was highlighted in blue, revealing to be Lin Yuhsia's name and her rank.
The four lists was then removed from the screen as the satellite begins to scan the surrounding areas near the nuclear cloud before finding it's destination as the following inscription popped up.
Located...
Sgt. Lin Yuhsia
1st Force Recon
The screen then fades to black.
"Wait, why was Lin's name in blue?" Greythroat asked.
"I think that means...she is alive?" Blaze thoughted.
"If she is alive after that explosion, then i say it's a damn miracle..." Sesa said.
As the screen was in black, the audience could hear various disturbing sounds that some of them had to cover their ears of how loud they were.
Then it slowly transits to Lin's point of view. Lin had opened her eyes after she was knocked unconscious after the crash. Speaking of which, she finds herself inside the Chinook from before, though she is laying down on the floor by her stomach.
"She's alive." Ch'en said, a bit delighted.
"But what about me?" Swire asked, in hopes that she's alive like the Zalak.
"Don't forget FEater and the rest." Folinic added.
Lin let out a few coughs from the smokes. She then take a brief look on her hands. Her gloves were still there, but they were very dirty and torned. There were also signs of scratches.
While she was checking on herself, the audience could hear a radio transmission coming from the destroyed Chinook.
"Flash. NBC-1 Nuclear. Bravo - NB-0 6-2, 6-3-4. Charlie - 90 degree grid. Hotel - surface. Juliet - 90 seconds...10 degrees. Romeo - 2.3 centigrade..."
The radio gets garbled up with a strong wave of noises. Then a woman begins transmitting.
"Be advised, nuclear detonation detected, fallout predicted within a radius of 7.4 miles, epicenter located at N-B-0-5-8-6-8-0. Personnel within primary affected zone are ordered to commence immediate evacuation. Contamination centers are being established at this time, and should be operational within 2 hours. Personnel are advised to be there, I am-"
Her transmission was interrupted by a static for a moment. " Personnel with highly elevated levels are advised to seek medical attention at the first available opportunity."
"So they are being evacuated?" Bagpipe asked.
"By the sounds of it, those that are not near the explosion are going to." Dobermann said.
"But Lin is alive, so...she could make it to the evac zone right?" Amiya joined in.
"I..don't think so." The Doctor replied.
After hearing the transmission, Lin turned her head around as she was met with the dead body of Lopez. He sat near the cockpit as Lin could also see the dead bodies of Outlaw and Jake. Lopez's helmet was off of his head, revealing his grey hair and Lupo ears.
It also reveals a big gash on his head, indicating that he died on impact of the crash
Lin turn back around to the open ramp as she started crawling to it. With all of her might, Lin manage to reach the end of the ramp. Though suddenly she slipped which cause her to fall to the ground with a hard thud.
Letting out a few grunts and coughs, Lin slowly recovered as she begin to look at her surroundings.
The audience reacted in shock at the sight. Fire was everywhere, from the roads and in any of the destroyed vehicles. The tall buildings in the distance were collapsing to the ground into rubble, the sky was filled with nothing but thick smoke, the environment was also filled with radioactive dusts coming from the nuke, and what caught most of the attention was the giant mushroom cloud among the horizon by the center of it all.
The sight had left everyone speechless. They thought seeing the nuke exploding from the previous mission along with the size of it until it can be seen by the satellite were bad enough, but this is a whole new level.
Amiya covered her mouth in shock as she dreadly stared at the destruction caused by a single nuke explosion.
Some of them operators felt frightened. Popukar let out a few tears because of how scary it was. Spot had to bring her close as she looked away.
The Lungmenites reacted in a mix of emotions, but they all are as shocked as everyone is. Though this cause Swire to lose a bit of hope of her character's survival. How could anyone survive something like this?
Kal'tsit stared with wide eyes and mouth dropped. This is the first time she had expressed an emotion ever since she started watching this MW universe.
W was stunned. Recalling back when she wants the next stage to feature more explosives, she didn't mean something like what the Nuke did. She started to regret her words.
Even Hellagur had trembled a little from the sight. He could not believe how one nuclear device had caused all of that. One could even mistook it as an apocalyptic event.
Doctor is also in shock that their gray eyes could be visible under their mask.
What is worse about this whole thing...is how similar it was of a catastrophe destruction...
"Are- are you..." Franka was at a loss of words. "This is gotta be a joke, right?"
"It's no joke..." Liskarm said, eyes still staring at the aftermath of the nuclear explosion. "This is all too real to be one..."
"This is hell!" Sesa exclaimed.
"That is not a friendly mushroom, r-right?" Kroos asked, observing the mushroom cloud.
"I don't think so..." Fang replied.
"Does it even look like a mushy giant friend to you?" Lava exclaimed.
"This...is a catastrophe..." Amiya uttered, observing of how similar it was. She did experienced it in Chernobog long before.
"But it's not even a catastrophe...it was from a nuclear warhead." Blaze replied.
"So...you're telling me...that these nukes are man-made catastrophes?" Closure asked in a fearful tone.
"It...seems like it." Doctor muttered.
After looking at her surroundings, sounds of footsteps were heard nearby. Lin look to her right and saw one of the marines leaning beside a debris of destroyed cars and concrete.
The audience notice that the marine was Roycewicz.
The blonde feline was making his way towards Lin. They could hear him letting out violent coughs until some could see bits of blood coming out. Despite that, he wanted to help the Zalak.
After about a moment, he made a move by standing up to his feet and walking over to her. However after his third step, he stumbled and fell to the ground with a hard thud.
The feline marine begin to cough madly while clutching his stomach. But after a few seconds, he stopped moving and went limp. He was dead.
"Poor guy..." Cardigan said.
"But that means that there could be other survivors." Steward pointed out.
"I don't think they would last long." W said.
Moving away from the dead marine, Lin gathered what remains of her strength and manage to stood up to a crouching position, though she had to move with her hands too.
As she was slowly moving to the street, she heard someone coughing. Turning to her left, she saw FEater lying on the ground, still alive but barely.
Like Roycewicz, FEater was coughing madly until blood was coming out of her, but she is still laying down on the ground at her side.
The Ursine then lay down on her back as she continued to cough even more blood, which bothered most of the audience. She started to suffocate from the radioactive dust as she gasped for a breath while clutching a hand to her chest.
However the dust was too much for her to handle as after letting out a few ragged breaths, she stopped and went silent. FEater had perished.
"Fuck..." Beehunter uttered, seeing one of her fellow Ursine dead from that explosion.
"How did she die?" Kroos asked.
"Maybe it has something to do with the dust." Fang said.
After witnessing two of her comrades' deaths, Lin look back up to see if she could find more of them. Then, a sound of a can was heard as Lin look up to the source.
She then saw another marine slowly standing back up to their feet. The audience begin to notice that the marine is Swire.
"I'm alive!" Swire said in relief.
"Looks like it." Ch'en said, however she knows that the tiger wouldn't last long before she would eventually perish like FEater and Roycewicz.
Seeing that Swire is alive, Lin hurriedly went over to her, albeit stumbling. Though since she moved too fast, she tripped upon a crack on the road which cause her to fall down.
Lin let out a painful moan as she set her eyes back to Swire. The tiger did not know of her presence as she kept limping on the streets towards the mushroom cloud.
"Where am i going?" Swire asked.
"Maybe finding shelter?" Hoshiguma guessed.
"I doubt there'd be any shelter." Dobermann muttered, after seeing all of those buildings collapsing.
Lin slowly got herself back up again as she followed Swire. The two kept walking for a moment before the latter stopped. She dropped to her knees and collapsed to the ground on her stomach.
Despite that, she was still seen crawling forward whilst coughing heavily. Lin kept following her, stumbling on the road while catching up to the tiger.
But as soon as Lin approached her, Swire stopped crawling...and moving.
Swire gasped, thinking that she stopped because...
No, she didn't want to admit it. Maybe she is just very tired and is resting after that crash.
Unfortunately her thoughts was proven false when Lin crouched down beside Swire's body, turning her around.
The audience got a clear view of the tiger's face. Her helmet had fallen, revealing her bright orange hair and feline ears. Lin observed her face as her green eyes were rolled upwards and doesn't seem to be moving.
Her mouth was covered in blood after her coughing fit. And when the audience listened closely, they didn't hear any breathing coming out of her.
Swire was dead.
"N-No..." Swire's eyes wided and covered her mouth in shock after she had just witness her own death, right infront of her.
Ch'en and Hoshiguma were stunned seeing one of their comrades lay dead, even though the former expected it to happen. She may be just an alternate version of Swire, but she was still Swire.
Most of the operators were also in shock. Aside FEater, Swire was one of the main characters in this universe.
Seeing her perished that easily stunned them, especially to Spot because he thought that she would survive since...she's a main character. But apparently, this universe doesn't follow that trope.
"Ms. Swire is dead..." Amiya said, stunned at the sight.
"She was one of the first ones to go..." Doctor replied. "I thought for sure she would last a longer time in this universe."
"I didn't think she'd actually die. I was only joking!" Closure exclaimed, feeling a bit guilty of how she somewhat predicted Swire's death.
"So i guess this means your whole 'main character gets to live' trope is proven to be false." Catapult remarked to Spot, though in a normal tone and not in snarky way since she's still in shock of this whole mission.
"Seems like it..." Spot admitted with a nod, even though this means he was wrong. He didn't care though, for now.
Hoshiguma glance back to Swire and noticed a few tears coming out of her eyes. The oni then put a hand on her shoulder, getting the feline's attention.
"Are you okay?" She asked
"I-I can't believe i'm dead..." Swire said, wiping off the tears in her eyes. "I know she is not actually me, but the way she speaks and how she looks is so akin to me. It's like...watching my own twin sibling die..."
As she said that, more tears begin to flow out of her. Hoshiguma frowned in pity as she comforted her by caressing and patting her shoulder.
Another note aside is did her alternate self also perished from the nuke? She wasn't with Swire and Lin during the assault, and the last thing she was seen is when she's guarding War pig.
Meanwhile, Ch'en stared at the two the entire time. She doesn't show it that often, but she also feels pity for Swire. They may usually or mostly at each other's throats when in work or even not in work, Ch'en still view her as a good comrade, and even...a good friend.
Lin let out a few harsh coughs as she stood back up and wandered aimlessly to the nuked city. She saw a destroyed playground on her right and decide to go there.
But before she went there, she heard another cough near her. Turning to the source, she saw a lone OpFor soldier sitting behind an iron fence of the playground.
Lin observed the enemy soldier, noticing that he is a Rebbah. His face was a mess, much like everyone else because of the nuke.
The Rebbah OpFor let out violent coughs as he look back up to the Zalak, reaching out to her.
The audience and Lin did not expect his response.
"Help...me..." He weakly said.
He went to another coughing fit and started to gag, letting out disturbing choking sounds before he eventually succumbed to the effects of the nuke and died.
"Why did he said 'Help me'?" Lancet-2 asked, even though he was supposed to be her enemy.
"And why did he even beg for help?" Yato joined in. "Didn't he know this was about to happen?"
"Or maybe he didn't." Everyone turned to Kal'tsit after her remark. "Maybe Drudge, and possibly along with his higher-ups, thought about the nuke plan incase things go south, but did not inform it to the rest of his army. Knowing him, he knew that his army is expendable, so he has a backup plan to use against the Marines."
"And that is by using the nuke...killing everyone, even his own men, and possibly himself..." Doctor finished.
Blaze let out a low growl. "Hope that man rots in hell..."
After the encounter with the OpFor, Lin continued on to the destroyed playground. She kept limping and stumbling, showing that she is getting weaker from the effects of the nuke.
But somehow Lin kept fighting it as she headed towards the playground of the school yard. When she made it, she collapsed to her knees as she went on all fours.
Looking to the abandoned and destroyed playground, Lin starts to hear voices. The audience thinks that these voices must've come from Lin's own head.
Even though the voices sounded ambiguous, they all could tell that a few of them was a voice of a child - a little girl to be specific.
When the voices intensified, Lin's breathing became more rapid and ragged, eventually starting to wheeze.
Then another voice was heard, this time it sounded from an older man. It was followed by the same voice of the little girl. The voices were still ambiguous, but the audience could tell that the man might be the girl's father.
The two voices exchanged words as the little girl then said something to her father, in which then it was recited by the man, though this time his voice was more clear and sounded way more older, yet familiar to the lungmenites.
"Promise me that you'll come back in one piece..."
The lungmenites realized that voice was from none other than Lin Kojui, the Rat King - Dai lo of the Lungmen slums - Lin's father...
That was enough to cause Lin to finally collapse to the ground, letting out ragged breaths and coughs. She could not kept her father's promise.
The Zalak took one final glance at the giant mushroom cloud on the horizon as she stopped breathing and her vision turning white.
The screen then fades to black as the following inscriptions appear
Act 1
End
Continue to Act 2?
Once again, the entire room had went silent. Everyone could not say a word because of how speechless they were after witnessing the destruction of the nuke along with the aftermath of the detonation.
They were flabbergasted of how similar it was that of a catastrophe destruction. Even in a world without the constant threats of Originium and demonic entities surrounding the civilized world, those nuclear warheads could end all of Humanity should the latter use it frequently.
Why did they even thought building such destructive weapons? Especially Ursus since they were told to have about 15,000 at stake.
After about a minute of silence - which felt like an eternity, they saw Spot standing up from his seat, holding Popukar's hand.
"I'm gonna go now..." He said with Popukar nodding aswell as they both left the area. He was still in shock after the whole thing.
"Yeah, us too..." Catapult said as she and Midnight got up and leave, which goes all of the A6 members.
Noir Corne was the next one to get up. "I think it's time to take a break. We have been watching this for a while now..." He then turned to Dylan, Barty, and Chard. "Let's go to the bar."
The trio simply nodded, though they didn't feel cheery or delighted. After what they witness, they just wanted something to clear off their mind.
When the four was about to leave, Noir felt a hand touching his shoulder. He turn his head back to see that it was from Yato.
"Hey, Noir...You don't mind if I join with you guys to the bar?" She asked, also wanting to clear her mind off from that nuke explosion.
Noir simply accepted with a nod. "Of course, the more the merrier. What about you Rangers?"
"You kids go on ahead. I'll stay here for a moment..." The old Savra said. The male oni sighed, but nodded in return as they all walk away.
Swire also got up from her seat and begin to walk off without saying a word. Hoshiguma got up and decide to accompany her.
This went on to the rest of the operators. One by one, they walk off and left the hangout area. Either they are tired, want to take a break, had some personal business to attend to, or like almost anyone else - dreaded from the events of that nuke while wanting to clear their mind.
The main leaders of Rhodes Island stayed at their seat, watching as everyone is leaving. But a good portion of them stayed.
Those being; Folinic, Ch'en, Franka, Liskarm, Hellagur, W, Dobermann, Rangers, Bagpipe, Blaze, Greythroat, Sesa, and Vulcan.
They were all still in silence, making the atmosphere in this room so thick that you can cut it with a knife.
Hellagur decides to break the silence. "So...that just happened."
"Just happened?!" Blaze exclaimed. "Forgive me of my attitude, general, but have you seen the damage that single nuclear warhead just did to that city!? It felt like a wasteland!"
"It's almost felt like an actual originium catastrophe..." Amiya uttered, trembling a bit. The unsettling part is how it is not natural, but from a man-made nuclear warhead. It was all in technology.
"I say it's even worse than a catastrophe." Doctor chimed in, getting the others' attention. "You'd still have a chance to survive a catastrophe. But for the nuclear warhead, after what we had witnessed during that mission, if you're in that nuclear blast...you're done for."
"Those past missions, the weapons of this alternate Terra gotten bigger and bigger. I...I did not expect to be this big..." Rangers muttered, while recalling of how Noir said that the next weapon would be the one that could blow up a whole town.
Well, it happened. But this time it was a city.
"Why did the people of this world even thought of making a weapon like that?" Ch'en asked. "The fact there are thousands of them aswell. Do they want to kill themselves?"
"Do we even have to call it a weapon? Like what, 'a Weapon of Mass Destruction'?!" Bagpipe joined in.
"I can't fathom why Ursus has about 15,000 of them. Worse of all they are at stake and could be use at any time..." Folinic shuddered.
"Perhaps there are something more to the creation of these nukes, maybe a reasonable one." Kal'tsit spoke up. "But for now, I can't put a thought on it."
"Still, making a weapon like that nuke is considered insane. Would also be impossible if we try to recreate it, and I am thankful for it." Vulcan said.
"I still can't believe an explosion like that nuke can be possible..." Sesa said.
W replied with a nod. "I agree. I've known and used a lot of explosive weapons and material, but this...Nuke warhead, is ultimately new to me."
"You know, I'm surprised you didn't enjoy that nuke explosion." Franka remarked at W.
The Sarkaz snapped her head to the Vulpo with a frown. "Do you really think I would enjoy something like that?!" W exclaimed, before asserting herself. "I can be a bit of a psychopath when I'm using explosives, but I WOULD NOT go that far like what that nuke did!"
Franka put both of her arms in surrender. "Okay, okay! I get what you mean."
"If someone were to acquire such weapon like it, I doubt they would even survive if they use it were they be too close." Dobermann said.
"Unless they have like a miniature version of it." Sesa chimed in. "Just imagine a launcher with some sort of mini-nuke as its ammo."
"And even if it was little, the damage it cause would still be pretty destructive." Greythroat stated.
The room then fell to another silence. This time it wasn't long though when after about a few seconds, the Doctor spoke up.
"So...should we continue this tomorrow?" They asked
"No." Ch'en responded. "I doubt the ones that left would watch this tomorrow after what they witnessed. And i do too." She then got up before leaving to catch up with Swire and Hoshiguma.
"Yeah, i agree." Bagpipe said. "I know this whole thing was fun to see, but...I think i need a long break." The Victorian Vouivre catch up to Ch'en and left.
"We're gonna go back to our own business regarding Blacksteel." Liskarm said as she and Franka both left, all while the former was holding some kind of notebook this entire time.
Seeing that everyone is leaving, Amiya glance to the Doctor, Kal'tsit, Closure, and the rest that are still here.
"Well, alright then. We'll continue with this next time..." Amiya concluded. She then extracted the cassette out of the player. "I think you should keep it, Closure."
The Sarkaz obliged with a nod. "Sure."
Without any exchange of words, everyone left the area, though Vulcan had to stay with Rangers and Sesa so they could return the projectors back.
It's gonna be a while for them to continue to act 2 of this.
And it goes the same to the others across Terra that are watching aswell.

Back at the hideout, the Penguin Logistics members were all staring at the screen after they watched the recent mission of the MW universe.
The ending of the nuke scene had left a quiet and eerie atmosphere in the area rather than the usual loud and hectic sounds coming from the members as they watch the MW universe.
Well, like what happened to our characters back in the Rhodes Island landship, they too were in shock after witnessing the events of that nuke and how it destroyed the city and kill all of the Yanese military and Drudge's army simultaneously.
The explosion caused Exusiai to drop her bag of popcorn, spreading it everywhere on the carpet. And seeing the Aftermath, her jaw dropped in shock.
Sora had her soda spilled all over the floor and to the carpet they are sitting at, trembling the entire time.
Croissant was appalled of the destruction until the point she is now hiding behind Bison, both were wide-eyed.
Texas too had her eyes wide, which also considered the first time she expressed any emotion when watching the MW universe.
And the Emperor only watched in silence until the scene ended and the inscription appear if they want to continue to act 2.
Emperor immediately shut the TV off. "Holy crap..." was his response.
"W-what in the world just happened?" Croissant asked, still hiding behind Bison.
"That Nuke just detonated and killed everyone..." Bison recalled.
"I-I don't- don't understand how can something like that be..." Exusiai stuttered in a loss of words. "I'll be right back." The Red-haired Sankta got up as she headed to the bathroom.
"I never thought an explosion could be that large and destructive..." Sora said, frightened from that mushroom cloud.
"And not even just the explosion." Texas chimed in. "The nuke must've release some dangerous substance that has been poisoning the survivors, even Yuhsia."
"Yuhsia..." Emperor muttered. He knows that she was Lin Kujoi's daughter whom he loved dearly.
"They didn't even manage to survive..." Bison said. He felt really bad for them, and even to that OpFor soldier that begged Lin for help. He probably too did not expect Drudge to use a nuke in the city.
"Do you think...Drudge perished aswell?" Sora asked.
"I don't know." Texas replied. "We didn't even see his body, which had probably been vaporized by the nuke, so he might as well be."
They then heard the bathroom door open as Exusiai walked out, her face all wet. Seems like she was washing her face to clear the nuke scene off of her.
"Ah, that feels better. I need to clean my mind off from that." The Sankta said before looking at the rest of the squad and notice the change of tone and emotion on their faces, all frowns with a worried look.
"So...i guess we're done for today?"
"Indeed." Emperor nodded before taking the tape out of the player. "It's been a while now and we need to focus back on our work."
"Can we...do it later?" Croissant proposed, raising a finger up. "That nuke scene still terrifies me and i want to take a break, a LONG break..."
"I think we all need a break aswell." Bison agreed with his forte co-worker, putting a hand on her shoulder.
The Emperor sighed in defeat. "Very well. An hour break and it's off to work. If anyone needs me, I'll be outside having a smoke. Also someone clean up that mess." He pointed to the carpet soaked with soda and covered in popcorn.
Both Sora and Exusiai give him a nod, while they blushed in embarrassment.
Emperor then grabbed a stack of cigar and went outside.
The penguin leaned behind a nearby wall as he took a smoke break. While doing that, he recited of that nuke scene and Lin's death.
He thought back when the character heard voices of her younger self and her father. What got him the most was the promise that Kojui had said to Lin, possibly before she went to Sargon to fight Drudge and his army.
She didn't kept it as she died in vain.
Emperor sighed, wondering if Kojui and her daughter were too watching this thing. He hoped not. But if they did, Emperor hoped they would took it well.
_______________________________
They did not took it well.
Kojui and Yuhsia stared at the screen in shock. The former had a few tears letting out because how he saw her own daughter die infront of them, what got him the most is when he heard his own voice from the voices in Lin's head.
'Promise me that you'll come back in one piece' . It could mean one thing, he was expecting her to go home after the war with Drudge. But she never did because of that nuke.
Meanwhile Lin was trembling in fear. It wasn't because of her character dying, it's from how she died. Whatever was in that nuclear bomb must've released some sort of dangerous essence, in which how it killed Roycewicz, that FEater girl, and Beatrix...
All of those coughing is probably because of the poisonous essence. And if she remembered, the faces from Swire, FEater, and Roycewicz had their skins to peel off from their faces.
She thought of how her character look like in that same condition, shuddering in fear while teardrops slowly formed.
Lin scooted beside her father, giving him an embrace. She may not like doing that, but after what she saw, she needed one.
Kojui gladly return the embrace.
They weren't the only ones to react badly at this. Wei, Eurill, Lee, and Fumizuki had their eyes glued on the tv screen when the explosion happened. Even when it was over, their eyes were still in shock.
It goes the same to the bartender and those that stood by and watch. When the explosion happened, they stood still in shock, with some turning away out of fear.
Wei was frightened at the destruction, and that is because of how eerily similar to what a catastrophe does to a city if it were to reach it.
Another thing to note is how it killed a lot of the marines. There wasn't any counter of the deaths, but he and the rest knows there could be tens of thousands of casualties.
"I...can't believe that just happened..." Lee was the first to respond.
"That was the biggest explosion i ever seen in my life..." Eurill said, but not in his cheerful tone.
"It killed all of those marines..." Fumizuki followed.
"Even my daughter..." Kojui replied.
"How? How is that even possible?" Lin questioned about the creation of the nuclear warhead that this alternate MW world has access to in thousands.
"It's an alternative world after all, so they must've find some weird elements to create...that monstrosity." Wei said.
"That thing is like a man-made catastrophe." Eurill stated. "Such a thing like that should not exist!"
"Well if we're lucky, i don't think we could even make anything like that nuke." Lee claimed.
Fumizuki sighed. "I pity this world for living with thousands of destructive weapons every day. They could all die at any moment if hundreds of them were used..."
Wei agreed with his wife with a nod. He then look over the time and notice that it's pretty late, and they've been in this bar for hours.
"I think we're done for today." Wei said as he removed the tape from the player
"Indeed. It is getting late..." Lee said.
"Who's going to keep the tape, though?" Eurill asked.
"I think i should. It was delivered to me for a reason." Wei affirmed. "If anyone is willing to watch it again, you can go to my place."
Kojui responded. "I appreciate the offer, Wei. But, me and Lin would pass for now." Her daughter nodded in agreement. After seeing the death of Lin's character, they both need some time to clear their heads from it.
"I'm willing to watch it again, but i have some company business to do." Eurill said.
"Yeah, same as me with my own agency." Lee followed.
"We'll also be quite busy aswell." Fumizuki chimed in. "Ruling a city is not as easy as it seems."
Wei nodded. "So i guess this is where we part ways. I'll see you all then."
After paying the bar, they all went their separate ways. Wei stuck with his wife as he held the tape in his hands, staring at it as they walk.
Fumizuki glanced at his current action. "Are you still thinking of that nuclear explosion?" She asked worryingly.
"Afraid so...I'm just wondering what kind of dangerous weapons this alternate world has created that could wipe out all of mankind, and their reasoning to create such weapons."
"Well, i hope it's for a good reason. Even though i don't agree on it's creation in the first place."
"Hopefully..." Wei sighed as he continued walking back home with his wife.

Nian found herself in a remote small town in Sargon. The place had its fair share of travelers and tourists. The town was lucky to not be among the path of a catastrophe, making it somewhat of a safe haven.
Though not entirely safe because the town still had it's fair share of criminal activities.
Nevertheless, she wasn't here to sight see, instead she is looking for a person that she promised him to meet up after the delivering the packages that he brought up.
And he said he was in a town like this. Recalling the name, this town is called 'Constantino', whatever that name really means.
Nian then stroll around the town to find a 'cafe' which where he had been residing this whole time. He didn't tell her any specifics other than it is the 'most popular' one in this place.
Fortunately, she didn't have to search any longer.
When she passed the first cafe, she saw a familiar black figure by one of the patios. Nian smiled and head over to him.
When she observed him, he was leaning behind the chair with both of his legs resting on the table. His cap was covering his shades, which also covered his eyes. The deity could then hear some light snoring coming out of him, indicating that he was asleep.
She couldn't help but chuckle. "Man, I should tell you of how cute you are when you sleep."
Though Nian can't just sit here and do nothing while watching him sleep, so she has to wake him up. An idea popped up in her mind, which earned a cheeky smile on her face.
She bring out her left arm and pull down the sleeve, revealing her crystal red hand. She then gently place two fingers on his neck as she felt her arts surging through her body and onto her arm, eventually to her fingers touching his neck.
Moments later, he let out a shriek.
"AHHH-" He recoiled back which cause him to fall out from his chair and to the ground.
He let out a painful groan while rubbing the part of his neck under the balaclava where the heat was. He turned towards Nian, who was snickering.
She couldn't contain it as she then let out a hearty laugh at him. She laughed pretty loud that some of the bystanders took a confused brief glance at them.
The black-capped man let out a sigh. "Why, Nian?" was all he could respond.
"C'mon, it's funny! Especially that scream." She continued to laugh for a good moment before composing herself.
"You don't have to use your fire thing at my neck to wake me up. I was having a sweet dream too." He then got up and adjusted the chair before sitting down again. "Well, atleast you're finally here. I figure you delivered the package?"
"Dude, I said that like two days ago." Nian stated. "But yeah, I did."
The man give her a nod. Suddenly, both of them heard something rumbling...on Nian's stomach. The latter let out a chuckle. "Guess all of that walking is making me hungry."
"Menu's inside the place." He gestured a thumb to it. "And if you want to order, go to the counter."
"Appreciate it, Shadow." Nian smiled before getting up and went inside.
"How many times should I tell you this, Nian? Don't call me Shadow!" He exclaimed . "I may look like one of the Shadows from the reboot MW, but that doesn't mean you get to call me that."
"Well, what should I call you then?" asked Nian while raising her eyebrow as she was right by the door.
"I told you before, call me D." He asserted
Nian shrugged. "Dumb name, but ok." After that she went in the cafe.
D sighed before playing with his wristband computer while waiting for Nian to come back. "That woman, I tell ya..." He muttered.

And that was the end of act 1 in COD MW. It only took me...six months. Wow. Well, guess this means that it's gonna take a pretty long time to finish to the third game.
I hope you enjoyed of what I added for the Aftermath chapter along with the reactions from the characters. Let me know of your thoughts.
Now after this chapter is going to be an interlude, which will be mainly about "D" - the man who is responsible for the whole reaction thing.
(Those who are cultured enough may know where he was mentioned before...)
But after that it is on to the reactions again. This time for Act 2, which it will feature the best mission ever.
See you in the next year!
