Scripted Fate

"Tony!"
"Raven!"

Several Arrows and Bolts of magic hit the two before anyone could react and push them out of the way. They were already badly hurt from the battles previously, and this essentially a death wish. The redhead staggered back, falling into the arms of his lover. The blond had already started healing him, to no avail.

"Lu?" The redhead got out, barely alive.
"Yes?" The blond replied, struggling to fight back the tears.
"It's been a wild ride, and I'm glad to have you by my side, as a friend and a lover." With that, the redhead took his last breath in his lovers arms.
"Goodbye Lord Raymond." The blond shed one single tear

"Ariel! Get Anthony out of here!" Reinhardt shouted as he took out another foe.
"What about you!?" She replied as she picked up her friend like a small child.
"I'LL BE JUST FINE! GO!"
Ariel ran past her fellow soliders, opposite to the direction that they were headed, confusing them to say the least, but once they saw their commander carrying her friend, they knew they had to keep fighting.
"Ariel! Get back to the front lines!" Several shouted, including her older brothers but she didn't listen. Anthony meant more to her than a pointless bloodshed. She kept running until she got back to camp where Sakura, Elise and Mist were waiting.
"What happened!?" Sakura asked panicked. The battle clearly wasn't over so why was their sister/ commander back?
"Don't worry about me. Anthony is the main concern." Ariel said showing the girls his battered body. One good look at it and they knew that it was serious.
"We'll get right on it." Mist said with the most serious look in her eyes. "We just need out space to work."
"That's fine. I just want to stay right outside."

Several hours had gone by with no word from the girls. Ariel had grown more and more worried about her friend, and then, Elise came out.
"Ariel.... We don't think he'll make it... He has only a little bit of time left." She said, her voice shaking. "But he wants to see you." The brunette got up from where she was sitting and entered the tent, where only Anthony was, and he appeared to be talking to someone. She walked in and sat next to him on the one chair in the room, after which she started to move the hair out of his face.
"Hold on guys... Ariel's here and I want to spend some quality time with her before I join you guys." He said, starting at the ceiling before struggling to sit up next to his friend.
"Who were you talking to?" Ariel asked
"My parents and a few other friends." He replied. Was he seeing things that she wasn't or was he preparing for his death? " They really like you. Though there is one thing I regret not doing..." He pulled something out of his pocket, which was a ring. "Not saying my true feelings. You were the wind at my back and the Lance at my side. We could've built a peaceful world, but it looks like that belongs on your shoulders now." He placed the ring in Ariel's hand. "May we meet again in a better life..." He gave off one last smile before closing his eyes one last time.
"I'm so sorry Tony...."

And every fight after, Ariel's killing became more and more brutal, her heart wanting her best friend's affection.

Wow.... I'm crying right now. This was for Reina_de_Naipes shipping week day 4. This'll be updated in my other book, without this authors note. Hopefully tommorow it's something light hearted.
