The Doctor and the Stone both then jumped out of the ship, falling towards the glass dome of the mansion there hands tightly held together as the Doctor managed to still clutch the gun as they fell smashing through the glass painfully cutting the Stones blazer, blouse and trousers as well as the Doctors suit. They crashed to the marble floor with glass around them, under them and in their hair. The Stones holding multiple knots and glass as well as a nasty cut just above her cheek that wasn't pressed into the cold marble floor. The Doctor was in no better shape his hand just away from the revolver while he laid never to the Time Lady their fingers still entwined. The Doctor tried to move trying to push himself up. He grabbed the gun slowly raising his hand at Rassilon who stood in the centre of where the gate was now replaced by a white background space with two Time Lords in robes either side with two others at the back. A male and female with their faces in their hands. The Doctor didn't have the energy to continue holding the revolver and dropping the gun falling back to the floor with the Stone beside him who tilted her head watching Rassilon.

"My Lord Doctor. My Lord Master. My Dame Stone." He looked at them all. "We are gathered for the end."

"You can't do this Rassilon." The Stone gritted her teeth glaring at him as she and the Doctor used each other's weight to push each other up into sitting.

"Listen to us for once!" The Doctor glared at him. "You can't!"

"It is a fitting paradox that our salvation comes at the hands of our most infamous child." Rassilon looked at the Master.

"Oh, he's not saving you." The Doctor turned his head towards the Master.

"Don't you realise what he's doing?" The Stone looked at him.

"Hey, no, hey!" He looked at them. "That's mine. Hush." He then looked at Rassilon. "Look around you. I've transplanted myself into every single human being. But who wants a mongrel little species like them, because now I can transplant myself into every single Time, Lord. Oh, yes, Mister President, sir, standing there all noble and resplendent and decrepit. Think how much better you're going to look as me." Slowly Rassilon raised his hand holding the metal gauntlet which now glowed before he opened his hand and all he humans-Master heads shook again.

"No, no, don't." The Master shouted watching in horror. "No, no, stop it! No, no, no, don't!" He screamed as everyone was restored to themselves.

Rassilon then looked at the humans. "On your knees, mankind." They all obeyed slowly getting down on their knees holding their hands behind their heads.

"No, that's fine, that's good because you said salvation." The Master pointed to Rassilon. "I still saved you. Don't forget that."

"The approach begins."

"Approach of what?"

The Doctor and the Stone looked back in annoyance at the Master. "Something is returning."

"Don't you ever listen?" The Stone gritted her teeth at him. "That was the prophecy. Not someone, something."

"What is it?"

"They're not just bringing back the species. It's Gallifrey." The Doctor looked at him.

"Right here, right now."

The room started to shake as humans sprinted out screaming for their lives. "But, I did this. I get the credit." The Master shouted. "I'm on your side."

Suddenly Wilf pushed himself through the people. "Come on, get out of the way. Get out of the way! Doctor, Stone?" He shouted then saw a technician hammering on the door of a locked glass cubicle. "

"Help me, please. Somebody, please." He begged.

"All right!" Wilf shouted. "I've got you, mate. I've got you." He opened the door stepping inside.

"Wilf, don't." The Doctor and the Stone reached out the man not listening to them.

"I've got you. Come on. Go on." Wilf said pressing the button and locking his door.

"But this is fantastic, isn't it?" The Master looked at the Doctor and the Stone. "The Time Lords restored."

"You weren't there in the final days of the War. You never saw what was born." The Doctor looked at him angrily.

"But if the Timelock's broken, then everything's coming through. Not just the Daleks, but the Skaro Degradations, the Horde of Travesties, the Nightmare Child, the Could-have-been King with his army of Meanwhiles and Never-weres." The Stone snapped.

"The War turned into hell." The Doctor said. "And that's what you've opened, right above the Earth. Hell is descending."

"My kind of world." He laughed at them.

"Just listen!" The Stone shouted at him. "Because even the Time Lords can't survive that."

"We will initiate the Final Sanction. The end of time will come at my hand." Rassilon announced. "The rupture will continue until it rips the Time Vortex apart."

"That's suicide." The Master looked at him wide-eyed.

"We will ascend to become creatures of consciousness alone. Free of these bodies, free of time, and cause and effect, while creation itself ceases to be."

"You see now?" The Doctor looked at the Master. "That's what they were planning in the final days of the War."

"He had to stop them." The Stone added.

"Then, take me with you, Lord President." The Master opened his arms. "Let me ascend into glory."

"You are diseased, albeit a disease of our own making. No more."

The Doctor stood to his feet pointing the revolver at Rassilon as the Stone stood up as well.

"Choose your enemy well. We are many. The Master is but one."

"But he's the President." The Master whispered smiling at the Doctor. "Kill him, and Gallifrey could be yours." The Doctor turned to the Master pointing the gun now at him. "He's to blame, not me." The Master said. "Oh, the link is inside my head. Kill me, the link gets broken, they go back." He then started to snap. "You never would, you coward. Go on then. Do it." The Doctor turned once more to Rassilon. "Exactly. It's not just me, it's him. He's the link. Kill him!"

"Will you just shut up." The Stone hissed. "Don't make me kill you myself. Cousin or not." She snapped at him.

Rassilon looked at the Doctor and the Stone. "The final act of your life is murder. But which one of us?" He asked smiling. Slowly the woman behind Rassilon lowered her eyes. The Doctor looked at her in shock.

The Stone, however, was too busy focusing on the man on the other side. "My dear sister" She heard in her mind making the blonde thickly swallow staring at the man as he lowered his hands looking the Time Lady in the eye. "You've changed so much but I know neither of you truly are killers like this. I always wondered for the day where you both would Unite. I have been sending this warning to you for a long time. Be careful my older sister, I know the story. I know what happens but neither of you have to kill. No one has to die..."

The Stone looked at the Doctor now eyes wide seeing who he was looking at. The woman's eyes flickered to behind the Master then back at the Doctor as a tear rolled down her face. "No one has to die..." he looked at the Stone realising what she just telepathically whispered to him. He then looked back at his mother still looking at him and what was behind the Master. The Doctor spun around again and pointed the revolver at the Master who stared in shock. "Get out of the way." He said. The Master looked at him and the Stone then widely smiled diving out of the way as the Doctor shot the diamond.

"The link is broken." The Doctor shouted. "Back into the Time War, Rassilon. Back into hell."

"You'll die with me."

"We know." He replied then looked at the Stone as she took his hand standing beside the Doctor.

Rassilon then aimed his gauntlet at the Doctor and the Stone. The Doctors mother and the Stones brother covered their faces once more.

"Get out of the way." The Master repeated in the same voice as the Doctor did. The Doctor and the Stone looked back before stepping out the way as the Master shot his energy at Rassilon. "You did this to me!" He screamed. "All of my life! You made me! One! Two! Three! Four!" He shouted as Rassilon was forced to his knees as the Master and the other Times Lords disappeared leaving the Doctor and the Stone on the floor.

Slowly the Doctor blinked looking at the Stone the two of them leaning on each other to sit up. The Doctors eyes widened in shock. "I'm alive." He breathed looking at the Stone. "I've. There was. I'm still alive." He chuckled as he and the Stone held each other chuckling together before they froze hearing four knocks. Slowly they both looked up seeing Wilf stood in the glass booth.

"They gone, then?" He asked. "Yeah, good-o. If you could let me out?"

"Yeah." The Doctor slowly nodded him and the Stone slowly standing up.

"Only, this thing seems to be making a bit of a noise." Wilf looked around at the booth.

"The Master left the Nuclear Bolt running." The Doctor said. "It's gone into overload."

"And that's bad, is it?"

"No, because all the excess radiation gets vented inside there. Vinvocci glass contains it." The Stone said as the Doctor cut in. "All five hundred thousand rads, about to flood that thing."

"Oh. Well, you'd better let me out, then." He chuckled.

"Except it's gone critical. Touch one control and it floods. Even this would set it off." He brought out his sonic screwdriver as the Stone slowly shook her head.

"I'm sorry."

"Sure."

"Look, just leave me."

"Okay, right then, I will." The Doctor scoffed. "Because you had to go in there, didn't you?" He looked at Wilf. "You had to go and get stuck, oh yes. Because that's who you are, Wilfred. You were always this. Waiting for me all this time."

"No really, just leave me." He said. "I'm an old man, Doctor. I've had my time."

"Well, exactly. Look at you. Not remotely important. But me?" He choked out. "I could do so much more. So much more!" He hit a table full of papers. "But this is what I get. My reward. And it's not fair!" He shouted through his cries then slowly turned looking at the Stone. "Oh. Oh. I've lived too long."

"Together." She held his cheeks in her hands wiping away his tears. "We do this together Doctor."

"No." He slowly shook his head slightly stepping away. "I'm not letting you give up a regeneration when you have years left."

"Neither am I." She looked into his eyes. "I'm not letting you do this alone sweetheart."

"I need you to look after me. You know what I'm like with regenerating." He chuckled.

"Using yourself against me. Damn you, Doctor." She shook her head before sniffing a little stepping closer to him. "I love you."

"I love you too." He breathed out resting his forehead against hers. "I'm not ready to say goodbye." He whispered his eyes closed. "I only just found you again... I'm not ready to go."

"I'll still be here Doctor." She reminded cupping his cheek. "I'm not leaving you. This proves it." She reminded bringing his hand up his forefinger resting now on her ring. "United, remember?"

"I could never forget that." He softly smiled. "You in that beautiful dress looking absolutely perfect." He then choked a sob holding it back and tenderly kissing her. "Lived too long..." He murmured after pulling away. Slowly he made his way over to the glass cubicle. Wilf's eyes widened realising what he was doing. "No. No, no, please, please don't. No, don't! Please don't! Please!" He shouted.

"Wilfred, it's my honour." The Doctor held the handle off of the glass door. "Better be quick. Three, two, one." He slipped into the open booth and unlocked Wilfs. The man ran out and stood beside the Stone who held a hand to her mouth slowly sobbing as the Doctor cried out in pain. Slowly he curled up in a ball gripping at his hair he laid still as the power shut off. Then slowly the Doctor moved standing up.

"What?" Wilf blinked. "Hello."

"Hi."

"Still with us?"

"The system's dead. I absorbed it all. Whole thing's kaput." He gently pushed the door. "Oh. Now it opens, yeah." He rolled his eyes a little opening the door only to almost stumble back inside as the Stone jumped wrapping her arms around his neck burying her head in his chest tightly holding him. The Doctor swallowed hard and held her just as tightly.

"Well, there we are, then. Safe and sound." Wilf looked at them as the Stone let him go only after they shared a lingering kiss. "Mind you, you're both in hell of a state." He nodded at them both. "You've both got some nasty battle scars there." The Doctor held his head in his hands rubbing them down his face as the cuts all vanished.

"But they've-." Wilf pointed at him. "Your face. How did you do that?"

"It's started." He whispered then looked at the Stone who slowly moved back.

"Don't you dare Doctor." She shook her head at him. "Don't." He ignored her and softly kissed her.

"There." He softly smiled pulling away.

"Now you have even less time." She shook her head at him. "You shouldn't have done that."

"I wasn't going to let you stay like that."

The Stone slowly shook her head. "Your such a sweetheart." She sniffed.

---------------------------------------------------------------

The Doctor and the Stone walked out of the TARDIS followed by Wilf as Sylvia ran out of the house smiling.

"Oh, she's smiling." The Doctor looked at Wilf. "As if today wasn't bad enough. Anyway, don't go thinking this is goodbye, Wilf." The Doctor looked at him. "We'll see you again, one more time."

"What do you mean?" He frowned looking between the two. "When's that?"

"Just keep looking." The Stone told him. "We'll be there."

"Where are you going?" He questioned.

The Doctor sighed taking the Stones hand as she nodded at him. "To get my reward."

---------------------------------------------------------------

The Time Lords quietly walked along the catwalk at the abandoned building sneaking up on the Sontaran, hammer in the Doctors hand. Just before the Sontaran shot at Mickey and Martha, the Doctor hit the probic vent with the hammer making the Sontaran fall to the ground.

They walked as Martha noticed them both staring and hitting Mickey on the arm before he noticed.

"Hey!" He waved at them. They both nodded then slowly turned to leave watching as Mickey held Martha.

---------------------------------------------------------------

The Doctor and the Stone stood by the TARDIS watching Luke Smith walk down the path before crossing the road. The Doctor and the Stone quickly pulled him across stopping him from being run over.

"But it's you two!" He looked at them in shock as they walked back to the TARDIS. "Mum! Mum!" Luke shouted.

Sarah Jane frowned getting out of her car. "What? What is it?"

"It's them." He pointed as the Time Lords turned around leaning against the TARDIS. "It's the Doctor and the Stone." They both waved at Sarah Jane who looked sadly at them both.

  ---------------------------------------------------------------

Handing a small piece of paper to the barman the Doctor and the Stone stood in view of Jack watching as the barman handed the paper then pointed at them both. They saw Jack looking their way before looking at the paper that read 'his name is Alonso' below that read in a more feminine handwriting. 'Psychic'

Jack looked left looking at the man then back at them. Straightening up he saluted them both while they nodded lazily saluting him back.

---------------------------------------------------------------

"No, it's not just a story, no." Verity Newman shook her head while the Doctor and the Stone stood behind a man at a bookshop where the woman was signing. "Every word of it's true. I found my great grandmother's diary in the loft, and she was a nurse in 1913, and she fell in love with this man called John Smith. Except he loved another woman called Rita Stone. They were visitors from another world. She fell in love with a man from the stars. And she wrote it all down."

"Thank you." The man then walked off and the Stone blinked seeing Verity who looked exactly like Joan Redfern almost as if they were exactly the same person.

"And who's it for?" Verity asked not looking up as the Doctor placed down the book.

"The Doctor and the Stone."

"To the Doctor and the Stone." She said writing it down then frowning in thought. "Funny, that's the names they used." She then looked up at them.

"Was she happy in the end?" The Stone asked. She always felt guilty about it. The woman lost so much and then the Stone wondered in just before everything broke out.

"Yes. Yes, she was." She nodded. "Were you?"

The Stone looked over at the Doctor slowly smiling before she nodded her head. "Yeah, I am."

---------------------------------------------------------------

Next, they stood together beside the TARDIS as Donna stood in a wedding dress with Shaun they softly smiled before seeing Sylvia watching them then get Wilfs attention before they walked over to the Time Lords.

"And here you are, eh? Same old face." Wilf looked at the Doctor. "Didn't I tell you you'd be all right? Oh! They've arrested Mister Naismith. It was on the news. Crimes ' undisclosed'. And his daughter. Both of them, locked up. But I keep thinking, Doctor, Stone there's one thing you two never told me. That man and woman. Who were they?"

The Stone took in a deep breath. "He was my brother, my younger brother." She slowly nodded. "He was the only one who actually looked up to me and wasn't truly ashamed of me. I thought he died- Davros said he died."

"Davros lied." The Doctor said squeezing her hand.

The Stone gave a gentle nod and smiled at the two humans. "We wanted to give you something." She looked at the Doctor who nodded taking out a small brown envelope handing it to Sylvia.

"Wedding present. Thing is, we never carry money, so we just popped back in time, borrowed a quid off a really lovely man." He nodded.

"Geoffrey Noble, his name was." The Stone smiled at Sylvia who gasped a hand flying to her mouth.

"Have it, he said. Have that on me." Wilf and Sylvia slowly moved back over to Donna and handed the envelope to her watching her open it before seeing a lottery ticket. Wide-eyed they watched as Donna walked off with it before Sylvia and Wilf gleefully held each other's hands. Wilf then looked over and saluted at them both before the Time Lords left.

---------------------------------------------------------------

"Sweetheart are you sure about this?" The Stone worryingly asked helping the Doctor to the shadows of the power estate. It was the Doctors idea to go back and say goodbye to everyone but they couldn't say goodbye to Rose. She was in the Parallel universe with her metacrisis Doctor now and there was no way to see her. Luckily for him, the Stone had a brilliant idea and a small trick up her sleeve that he had no idea about what was going on.

"I don't know what you're doing but I'm sure." He slowly nodded before wincing a little.

"Trust me, sweetheart." She kissed his cheek before hiding around the corner hearing Rose from before she met the Doctor walk in the power estate with her mother. Jackie then wondered off and Rose headed to go back to the flat before stopping hearing the Doctor grunt with pain in the shadows.

"You all right, mate?" Rose looked back frowning at him.

"Yeah."

"Too much to drink?"

"Something like that." He slowly nodded.

"Maybe it's time you went home."

"Yeah."

"Anyway, Happy New Year." Rose smiled at him then turned to walk off.

"And you. What year is this?"

Rose stopped and turned back around. "Blimey, how much have you had? 2005, January the first."

"2005." He slowly nodded. "Tell you what. I bet you're going to have a really great year."

"Yeah? See you." She smiled then ran off. The Stone quickly ran back to the Doctor placing his arm on her shoulder as she wrapped one around him helping him back to the TARDIS as he held onto the wall with one hand. "Thank you." He croaked out." It was much easier with the wall, however, the pain became much worse and more difficult to walk when they only had each other to support. The Doctors legs then slowly gave way making both Time Lords fall to the ground on their knees only to look up seeing Ood Sigma.

"We will sing to you, Doctor." The Ood said as the Stone slowly helped him back up. "The universe will sing you to your sleep. This song is ending, but the story never ends."

The Stone managed to get the Doctor back inside the TARDIS throwing her blazer over the Y beam, setting them way above the Earth and helping the Doctor lean against the console after he slipped his coat off. "He slowly raised his hand as the golden energy started to gently swirl around. "Stone." He started to sob.

"I'm right here." She told him cupping his cheeks in her hands. "Right here, always here." She whispered softly kissing his lips. "I love you Theta, my Doctor no matter who you are I promise." She slowly nodded stepping away from him a little.

"I'm scared." He sobbed. "I feel like I'm leaving you behind."

"Shush.' She whispered wiping the tears away with a thumb. "You are not leaving me behind okay? I'm still here, still with you sweetheart until the very end."

Slowly he nodded, tears still in his eyes. "I don't want to go." He sobbed then threw his head back as the golden regeneration energy took over coming out of his arms. The power of the regeneration set part of the TARDIS alight making the Stone scream out as sparks flew and fires came alight all while she shielded her eyes from the bright light coming from the energy.

The regeneration then cut out and the Stone looked up blinking at the Doctor standing in front of her wearing the suit his previous incarnation had which now held cuts throughout. She took in his features looking up and down him. He was shorter than before with the Stone now coming up to his rather large chin. His floppy brown hair covering one of his bright green energetic eyes. "Legs!" The Doctor shouted completely ignoring the chaos in the TARDIS by grabbing one of his legs and raising it in the air. "I've still got legs. Good. Arms. Hands. Ooo, fingers." He looked at them wiggling them about. "Lots of fingers. Ears, yes." He nodded touching them then touched his eyes. "Eyes, two. Nose, I've had worse." He frowned. "Chin, blimey." He muttered then thought that the Stone would definitely tease him about. He then blinked wondering where the blonde was. He then noticed the Time Lady standing there. "Stone!" He ran over tightly hugging her. "Oh, I love you!" He then started to kiss her something that made the Time Lady laugh before he stopped stepping away. "No later, my hair." He looked at her. "What is my hair like."

"Well for starters you're still not ginger, not sure about being rude though." She raised a brow. "Definitely charming." She grinned. "But no you're just brown, bit longer than before." She replied crossing her arms. "Now we really should..."

"No there is something else." He frowned cutting her off. "Something important. We're... we're... we're..." He frowned trying to think before there was an explosion making the Stone squeaked. "Crashing!" She shouted at him going to run around the TARDIS before he grabbed her. "Ha! Crashing!" he shouted. Ha, ha! Whoo hoo hoo!" He laughed tightly holding her as she couldn't help but slightly laugh at him. "Ah! Geronimo!"

Bye bye, ten :( God I am going to miss you... but hello Eleven :) I cannot wait for flirty Eleven and the Stone I was always unsure on whether to continue with this story onto Eleven but after rewatching a ton of the 5th series I just had to keep on going, there is still so much more to tell in both of the Doctor and the Stones story ;)
