Chapter thirty-five: Do you think it's safe?
If you ever thought that arriving in Neverland was exciting (except getting your face planted beneath the sand and got imprisoned), going to a home full of fairies sounded more exciting. Peter Pan didn't inform the lost boys about this. He didn't want to be responsible for them causing trouble in Pixie Hollow- home of the Never fairies! It hasn't changed weirdly, nor did the fairies. Thank the heavens for that.
"Let me get this straight," Peter Pan rubbed his chin with his index finger. "You, MaXabiere, have this weird firepower and the ability to fly, am I right?"
"You heard me right." I smiled.
"Then Chloriette has the power by singing," he said.
"Something like that." Chloriette rubbed her arm.
"Lenard can understand other words, that's rad," Peter Pan commented.
"Trust me, it's really helpful." Lenard nodded.
"And Victor is strong, fast, and agile," Peter said.
"And can bake cookies," Victor added with pride.
"Yeah, right," Peter Pan shrugged. "About these missing friends of yours. Who are they again?"
"Captain Claes and Sean," I answered.
"A captain? Wow, finally someone to have fun with!" Peter Pan laughed.
How did he know about Pixie Hollow? Did he fly past it before rescuing us? Do many questions running in my mind. But it didn't matter as it was the time to move along.
Our pants absorbed the river water as we pass through the waterfall. I didn't realize how much I needed a bath. Once behind the waterfall, I looked around, the light reflecting on the water made us able to see the cave's appearance. Flowers sprouted from the cracked walls and fireflies dancing among them. After being so wet and our shoes getting muddy, the exit finally showed itself. We can't wait to see Pixie Hollow!
Back when I was a kid, Rosie always convincing (more like forcing) me to come with her to the library when school is over. "Aren't you getting tired of this?" I frowned.
"Please? It'll be a minute!" She pleaded.
"I don't want to fall asleep in the library . . . again."
But she kept begging. "Come on," Rosie whined. "Henrich can't come with me because she's busy."
"She's always busy!" I remarked.
"I can't let Mondrea come because she doesn't like hanging out there," she whined.
"That makes sense."
"Sooooo . . . let's go?"
"No. I will not go and stay there for too long, Rosie." And we did go to the library and I fell asleep for four hours. My saliva started to leak on the pages. The book had no name but with the brownish and dusty cover, Rosie managed to find it. Knowing all the pages, she found and kept showing me a place with four seasons for each direction. "It's like the other place of quarté.," she told me. And it's true but it's smaller than our land and in the center of Pixie Hollow was a Tree. I think it's called . . . Pixie Dust tree? Thanks to her, I got the map memorized. I wonder who wrote it? "I always wanted to go there," Rosie said in our present age. "Maybe I'll make friends with the fairies."
"And squish them to bits with your feet, that's a pretty good idea," I teased. A Dragonslayer going to Pixie Hollow? This was not a good idea. Squeezing our way towards the exit of the tunnel, we can't imagine what it would look like by the time we saw the place. Is it too big? Or too small? I don't know. Like in the book Rosie kept showing me, the four seasons had their location and boundary. On the center was the Pixie Dust tree, looking like a normal tree that we see every day, except it's glowing and glittering with sprinkles of gold.
On the west were trees with red leaves falling gently like a bird's feather- Autumn. On the east were planted with pink cotton. Judging by its appearance, it must be soft to touch, together with so many exotic flowers and plants that sprouted from the green grass- Spring. What I saw behind the tree made my heartache for some reason. Green mountains and trees sprinkled with white snow coming from the white clouds. It reminded me of Snowfall village- Winter. Where we are standing was Summer, because of the familiar temperature we felt on our skin.
"Here we are, Pixie Hollow!" Peter Pan stretched his arms towards the view, the home of the Never fairies.
"Wow!" Victor exclaimed. "I can't believe we're here. It's just that . . . one moment we're in Neverland, then the next here we are . . . just . . . wow!"
"I've read many descriptions about the fairies' homeland, but seeing it right before my eyes . . . it's very unique." Lenard managed to say a word since he was stunned for minutes. So Rosie and I were the only ones who knew about this place in a book. Can't believe I'll say this but . . . thanks for showing it to me, sis.
Of course, we can't forget about Captain Claes and Sean, we just need help from Tinker Bell and ask if she knows the World of Battleships, and maybe- just maybe- the other fairies will give us their aid in search for them. "So, how are we gonna settle with them?" I asked.
"Since we're big as titans? Don't worry, this will help." Peter shoved his hand in his pocket,(I didn't know he had a pocket. How come I didn't see that before) taking a pouch out of his pocket and into his hand. "Tink introduced me to her friend, Zarina. She makes random Pixie dust. She also gave me this shrinking dust so I can have fun in their home without crushing anything!" He grinned.
"Cool, so how are we gonna come back to our normal size?" Lenard asked. But without being irritated by his curiosity, Peter held another pouch. "Okay, the silver pixie dust is for shrinking and this bronze dust for growing. Before you go and ask me how she did this, I'll go ahead and answer you right now- I don't know, okay?"
Before we shrink into fairy size, we hid behind the bushes then Peter Pan sprinkled silver Pixie dust on top of our heads. It felt strange at first, but soon I felt lighter; lighter than air, even. We checked on our things to make sure we still have all of them. "Follow me, the shortcut to the Pixie Dust tree is this way." He pointed to the dark side of the tall grass. Seriously, why do we always have to take a shortcut which looked far from safe?
Minutes later, I caught a glimpse of a green fairy with a basket filled with tiny berries in his arms flying above us. "Hey, who's that?" I pointed up. Peter and the others turned to the flying fairy. Peter then shouted, "Hey, I know that fairy, it's Dave!" Waving his arms and jumping high enough to be noticed, Peter Pan kept on calling his name. "Dave. Dave. Hey, Dave. DAAAVVE!!!"
Dave stopped, looking around to see where the sound came from. By the time he found us, he rushed towards us with the sound of Pixie dust following him, landing on his tiny feet. He looked exactly like Peter Pan, except for the shape of his face. "Peter?"
"Yes, Dave?"
"Holy hollows, it is you!"
"Why? Don't you recognize me anymore?"
"I still do." Dave's wide brown eyes told me that he can't believe his friend was back. "But these four don't look familiar to me." Peter glanced from him to us.
"Hi!" Victor beamed (He really couldn't stop being friendly).
"Wait a minute, are those Flash warriors?" Dave squinted at probably our symbol on our uniforms. "I know, cool right?" Peter beamed. But from the look on Dave's face, it wasn't cool at all. "Peter, why are they here?" he almost blurted out as if Peter was accompanying ugly creatures with him.
"It's a long story. Hey, is Tink at the Pixie Dust tree?"
But Dave asked again, "And why did you bring them here?"
"Dave, you know I hate interrogations. So will you please tell me about Tink?" Dave started panicking. His legs were shaking along with his hands.
"Peter, why did you bring them here?!" He snapped. It's time to take action.
"Whoa, whoa, wait a sec! So you think they're dangerous, too?" Peter raised an eyebrow. "Come on, you know what Flash warriors are, right?"
"Yes, I do." Dave almost shouted, voice filled with fright. "And do you know what happens when Flash warriors are here?"
"I do, but-" He was about to say something, but Chloriette held Peter's shoulder. She'll take care of this. "Mr. Dave."
"Don't call me that," he said quickly.
"Okay then," Chloriette cleared her throat. "Dave, please hear me out, we're just trying to find our friends and head to our next destination. We're just going to ask for help-"
She was stopped by the sound of Pixie dust. As we turned around, three armed fairies landed before us. More like fairies holding a spear which looked similar to a toothpick. They wore golden armors with shining pauldrons and gauntlets. The guy in the middle was tall. Ombre hair from white to brown with golden eyes. The next guy to his right had brown skin, black spiky hair on top, and shaved on the sides. He had clear, light brown eyes, unlike the tall fairy. The fairy girl showed off her long white ponytail, she was armed with a bow and arrow in her hands unlike the other two. Her blue eyes somehow reminded me of someone I can't remember.
"Peter." The tall guy glared.
"Pierce." Peter Pan nodded his head in greeting with a smile on his face. "Hey, I heard you're one with the Fairy guardians now. I see you've been promoted from the scouts. Hehe, that's lovely." he turned to the ponytail girl. "Chase, you too? Oh man, my mind is blown right now."
"We are here to take you in. Together with these warriors." Pierce's spear almost pricked Lenard's nose.
"Hey, easy on the nose, good sir." Lenard moved the spear away from his nose.
"You have the right to remain silent," Pierce said with a straight expression. "We will be taking you to the queen."
"Hey, Lines, could you tell your friend here to go easy on me. Or should I say . . . us?" Peter asked the spiky hairdo person.
"Sorry, Peter, but you just brought a whole package in Pixie Hollow," said Lines.
Pierce raised an eyebrow. "I see, Zarina's new Pixie dust worked perfectly as always."
"Yeah, I know. Speaking of Zarina, how are you two? I heard you have a special plan." Peter Pan's eyebrows were wiggling.
"I'm saving it when I have free time," Pierce said calmly. I could see Peter's cheeks turn pink at his response.
"Aww Pierce! I didn't know you have a soft, cute, lovable, adorable side. That's so sweet," Peter said with a tiny voice, a silly smile taking over his face. Suddenly, his smile vanished, and sighed. "All right, let's get this over with." Following his lead, we held our arms up towards the fairies as a form of surrender. "You are so dead, Dave," Peter glared at him.
"What the nest did I do?" Dave shrugged.
A/N:
They'll be fine, don't you worry. What comes next will be much more exciting in the next chapter!
