Chapter thirty-eight: Fairies hate drowning, especially Lenard

"Thanks for the help, Fawn!" Tinker Bell smiled at her friend. "I'm really glad you helped the new ones out, despite what happened many years when the-"

"Tink, chill out, girl! The past is the past blah, blah, blah, and all that jazz. The important thing is they'll make it, so they can beat the acorns out of the Wagon."

"Dragon."

"Right, dragon! Does that have three heads and big wings? I wish me and the animal fairies can go with you so we could persuade it to not kill everything," Fawn laughed at that. "But, I don't think it's possible for us. . . since it's a monster anyway." A fairy guard landed beside Tink and Fawn. "Whoa, who's that? Another fairy guard?" Victor asked.

"I guess so," Chloriette replied. The guard had slick, long black hair with tanned skin. The shape of her deep golden eyes the same as Claes, because . . . you know, Claes is a serious man. She wore a dark orange vest above her striped long sleeves. Two grayish gauntlets strapped on her lower arms. Peter smirked, "That, my friends, is Nyx, she's serious when it comes to doing her job. Real serious."

"Not all the time." Fawn chuckled. "She still hasn't changed a bit."

"And so do you, Fawn," Nyx told Fawn monotonously.

"What brings you here?" Tinker Bell asked.

"I am given a task by the queen to tell these human warriors good news."

"Whoa, good news? For real?" Victor's eyes widened, posture showing his excitement.

"Well, that's music to my ears." Lenard finally let himself relax.

"What is it?" I asked Nyx.

She answered calmly, "One of our scouts reported that they spotted two other warriors running away from the pirates."

"I guess we know who those pirates are," Chloriette added.

"One of them is badly injured from the gunfire in the forest. Luckily, we have Zarina's shrinking dust so the scouts could save and hide them in Pixie Hollow." The word injured made us tense. Who's injured? "Who- who's injured?" Chloriette demanded. I feel lightheaded, my heart is pounding a thousand times as if there's a hammer hitting it.

"The scouts were in a hurry to bring the injured one to our clinic. We didn't receive enough information after that. As for later, you can go after the treatment is over." Nyx sniffed before she grimaced. "What the Pixie dust is that smell?" She sniffed again. "Smells like Crocodile."

So Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, and Fawn went to the Pixie Dust Tree as per the queen's orders, so they're not gonna be with us. It's been three hours since the treatment. Like the tree, the clinic was built inside a trunk from a tall forest tree. The four of us sat on a wooden bench together with the other fairies. Some had sneezing problems, using a tissue to cover their noses. Others had injuries from rebuilding the Pixie Hollow. They whispered and chat when they noticed us, but we just ignored them and waited.

Chloriette didn't bother singing a song about having hope and not worrying, which I'm thankful for. Lenard reading his other spellbook hidden under his sleeve. Victor secured his grip on the giant key (The smell went away, thank goodness) otherwise he might drop it to whoever is in front of it. I, on the other hand, am busy wondering if things will go well. I better get it together before battling the Devastrigon the third time. It'll be hard. I wonder why the Devastrigon is still in that chamber?

We entered the room when the nurse told us the surgery was over. On the side, sitting in a chair, was Claes, looking haggard and dirty. That means . . . on the bed, a blanket over his waist and wrapped in white bandages (I have no idea how those fairies craft those) was Sean. But he was not wearing his indigo glasses. On his left side were his blue floral jacket hanging on the wall and his indigo glasses closed on top of a small circular table with a flower- a big one.

"Captain Claes!" I called. As he turned and opened his eyes, he soon recognized me. "MaXabiere?" He said with surprise and stood up. "Chloriette, Lenard, Victor. How did you guys get here?" With a cheer, Chloriette hugged him and said, "Glad you're okay, Cap!" I tried to stop Victor from reaching the Captain but to no avail. Claes grimaced as Vic hugged him, really, tight.

"Yeah, me too!" Victor beamed.

"You sure like to crush people, don't you?" Claes winced.

"The question is, Cap, where were you?" I asked.

"Yeah, Xabe even flew up just to search for you guys!" Lenard said.

After Victor enveloped Chloriette and Claes in a bone-crushing hug, he finally put the both of them down, the captain letting out a breath. "By the time we arrived, we suddenly found ourselves in a pirate ship. And I gotta say they talk a lot. They unintentionally gave us a history lesson about  Flash warriors and Shadow knights having a war of warships long ago. Resulting all of them were sunk- which explains why they hate us too. As we make our escape by using my illusion, things go well at first 'till Sean was chased by angry hawks. So one of the bullets penetrated Sean's lower back, the nurse removed the bullet near his . . . I don't know, the fairy explained it, but it's too gross to say. We even got hit by bees' sting."

"That's horrible!" Chloriette said with frightened eyes.

"Nah, it was nothing," Claes raised an eyebrow. "Those pirates don't scare me. Instead, they got scared by the weird crocodile with a ticking sound."

"You don't see that every day," Lenard said.

"You can say that again," Claes agreed. Suddenly, we heard a moan beside us.

"Claes, are you talking to yourself? If you are, then I'm not the only one who's crazy," Sean said in a weak voice.

"Sean, they're here."

"Oh-" Sean was quiet for a moment, then rose abruptly without any hint of pain. With a funny expression, Sean turned his head, his wavy hair swaying along to his movement. "Holy macaroni, man." With a smile, we all gathered up to- "Stop right there!" Sean warned. "My back feels a little bit uneasy." Then he furrowed his eyebrows and asked, "Why is there a big key leaning on a wall?"

Many minutes later, after Sean made himself a healing potion, he was good to stand. However, he needed to make as small movements as possible, not putting too much energy because he could still feel the sting on his back.

After we arrived at Queen Clarion's gigantic home, Pierce gladly gave us our weapons and other items back. "How's your friend doing?" He looked at Sean, who was trying to flirt with other female fairies.

"He's doing fine," I replied. "We should've searched the whole island, inside and out."

"Hey," Chloriette said, "It's not your fault that you didn't notice a pirate ship on the sea."

"She's right. Even the scouts who flew far from Neverland didn't see the ship either," he chuckled. "They must have been pretty scared from that crocodile. Thank the miracles for that."

Later, the queen, together with Tinker Bell, Peter Pan, and Fawn joined us in the main room. Did you know that behind the huge wooden wall was a fountain of Pixie Dust, gathering into a pool beneath? Okay, moving on.

"I am glad that you have reunited with the other warriors, Dragonslayer." Queen Clarion grinned. "I am the queen of Pixie Hollow, Queen Clarion." she gestured her hand to herself as she greeted Claes.

"Your majesty." Claes bowed his head. "I am Claes Vortecse, Captain of the Flash warriors. Thank you for helping us and my team."

"You are certainly welcome, Captain Vortecse." Queen Clarion smiled. "Your friend sure loves looking around," she added. Sean stepped forward in surprise, taking her hand in his, and bowed his head.

"Your majesty," Sean said. "I am SeanLeo Kenslin, one of the wizards of the Flash warriors, it's an honor to meet you. And you look nice as well." he then kissed her hand. With a giggle, Queen Clarion gave us what we need for our mission. "My fairy guardians will gather other important supplies for your quest because I know it will be dangerous for you."

"So she knows you're a Dragonslayer too?" Claes asked me and I nodded.

On the map Tinker Bell is holding was a drawing of a skull rock. Underneath it was wrecked ships with corals piercing through and entangled in seaweeds. "Okay, so according to the map: The World of Battleships takes place under the ocean below the skull rock. Oh, now I remember. I forgot how the map looked like the first time, but now I remembered."

"I saw that skull rock before," I said, pointing it. "It's not that far from here."

"Wait, so the map says that the World of Battleships is in-" Lenard didn't finish.

"Under the sea, Lenard. There's no doubt about it," Chloriette said.

"Yay, we're going swimming!" Victor jumped high, raising his fist with a grin.

"Sean, can you still swim?" Claes asked. Sean narrowed his eyes as he looked at the map. "What kind of a question is that? I thought you know me. With my back healed and me being annoying to the point you want to put a bullet in my head, of course, I can still swim. See, look!" Sean motioned his hands backward while moving his hips back and forth as if he was riding a horse or something. Peter smiled. Fawn laughed and so did we. "Seriously though, I can still swim. Trust Uncle Sean here."

"Great. We have to be careful, though. The pirates could have changed their location, we still have to keep our eyes open and be stealthy," Claes told us.

"Hey, maybe I could come along with ya," Peter suggested. "I'm good at distracting pirates."

Tinker's blank expression says it all. "He is."

This is what you've all been waiting for folks! As Peter also bid goodbye and a "See you on the other side. I'll tell the lost boys how much you love them all." We checked the extra supplies that the queen provided us with: Just only silver and bronze Pixie dust. It's good to be back in normal size again. In case you're wondering, Tinker Bell told us that it'll be better if she stayed and work with Stan on fixing Pixie Hollow. Fawn gave us a nice hug (Sean liked it very much) before heading back to the animal camp where she was teaching disabled animals how to survive the wilderness. The queen told us that we were welcome to visit Pixie Hollow any time. That's why she gave us two-colored Pixie dust. Claes told her that the warriors are meant to be trusted. She understood that.

As we departed for the skull rock, thanks to Lenard's spell, we had ourselves a boat that was almost wrecked like the ones on the map. Sean cast a spell that turned our things into a small, dim light that he can put inside his "water" proof pouch, except for our weapons. No pirates, no problem, thank Pete for that. "You guys ready?" Claes asked as we stood on a rock while watching the blue water below us.

"Wait, don't we have some sort of magic that makes us wear swimsuits?" Lenard asked the captain.

"Our uniforms are designed for any environment, including swimming underwater. Once we're on land, we'll be dry soon."

"That's an amazing fact!" Chloriette smiled.

"Though, those uniforms kill my neck, so I just wear simple ones," Sean said.

"I wish the water fairies are here. Darn, but they are busy rebuilding Pixie Hollow." Lenard stomped, which caused him almost to slip.

"Fairies hate drowning, especially Lenard," Victor told us.

"Victor, you got the key?" Claes asked him. Victor showed it, "Yup, still in my good hand." Then he placed it in the inside pocket of his uniform that came with a zipper.

Without turning back, Claes dove in first into the water before Sean and the four of us. This training finally paid off. We swam faster, going deeper. Unless you're Lenard, who was holding on to Victor's back. The water was crystal clear, clean, shiny, and blue. To my surprise, many of the ships were wrecked- warships, to be exact. I wish I knew what happened, but the most important thing right now was to go to our next destination. And we were heading there as we finally found the portal inside the ship and inserted the key into the keyhole and rotated it. Onward to the Shallow maze.

Peter Pan is a fictional character created by Scottish novelist: J.M Barrie. Together with the famous world Neverland, the lost boys, the lovable Tinker Bell, and the exciting and dangerous things inside the island. And in the future, adopted by Disney, so it became an animated cartoon film and was also made into a live-fantasy movie. The fairies, such as Tinker Bell, Nyx, Zarina (mentioned), Vidia (mentioned), Fawn, and Queen Clarion, along with Pixie Hollow, are based on Disney's "Disney Fairies" franchise (Hear me out. I know I'm too old for this Disney fairy thing but the location of Pixie Hollow is also in Neverland, anyway. The warriors also needed all the help they can get, so I included it here).

These beloved characters and places are based on the creation of Disney and especially J.M Barrie, the one who started it all. These characters and concepts served as an inspiration to the Flash warriors series and served as a puzzle piece to make the magic happen. Peace.
