She was six when her parents died. Instead of the whole story where Grandma got eaten by the wolf, the wolf ate her parents. Killed them. Ripped them to shreds. Nona immediately took the little girl into her home and became her guardian and mother. What Nona soon came to learn though was, those were never really her parents. Her parents had taken her away from her real parents at a very young age. Nona learned this on the first full moon when Ruby first shifted into her wolf form, that Ruby was the one who'd killed her parents. Nona took her to find the nearby wolf pack and ask them for help controlling her granddaughter's ability. The wolves only suggestion was the color red will protect her from shifting. That's what led to the creation of the red cloak. Ruby understands her ability and keeps it secret. She knows how dangerous it might be if anyone caught her shifting. They'd have her head.

Wolves have suddenly became an issue for the village. They're killing livestock and damaging equipment and people are starting to get concerned they might eventually try attacking children or other people.

You are a member of a group of wolf hunters sent to hunt down these wolves and get rid of them before they hurt anyone.

You're out late one night on a full moon. You walk cautiously through the woods, your bow in your hand, the string drawn back. Your eyes scan the trees.

You hear a branch snap and watch the shadows move. You walk faster and follow the movement.

You reach a clearing where the moon shines down on the area. A red furred wolf runs to the center of it where a red cloak lies.

You raise your bow higher and aim at the wolf just before it climbs under the cloak. Soon the cloak raises and it's now a girl. A girl you recognize from the village. Ruby.

Your eyes widen and you lower the bow. Ruby stares at you in shock.
