Flashback

Just as Ariel is about to walk out of the grill to join the search for Vicki, she stops when she hears Elena and Jeremy arguring.

"So that's your game now, dealing?"

"I'm not dealing!"

"Look, I'm sick of the tough love speech, Jer. It's clearly having no impact."

"You and Jenna, between the two of you. Enough already!"

"We can stop it you want. Send you to a therapist where you'll be forced to deal with it or to rehab where you'll sit in group and tell some stranger how you let your life fall apart. Or you could talk to me."

"How about you let him make his own choices?" Ariel asks as she walks back over to them.

"Ariel, this is between me and my brother."

"Jeremy, go help the others find Vicki."

After Jeremy looks between the two, he quickly rushes out of the grill.

"Jeremy!"

"Enough, Elena. Just stop it. You see this controlling behavior of yours is why he never wants to talk to you.

"He's ruining his life! Ariel, how can you support him doing drugs?!"

"Did I say I supported it? I don't like it but he's grieving. People grieve in different ways in case you haven't realized. He won't do drugs forever, god! Who are you to tell him what he can and not do? You really have some nerve with how you write in that diary of yours in the cemetery." Elena's eyes widened. "Yeah, that's not you grieving as well? Could you just leave him be?!"

"He's my brother-"

"Exactly, your brother. You are not his parent. Not his mom or dad. You are his sister. Are you hearing me? And I know about what you said to him before... People are going to stop giving him breaks. They don't care. The world has moved on... You should be ashamed of yourself for saying things like that to him. He's a kid, Elena. It's only been four months since you guys lost your parents and he's suppose to just get over it? If that's what you want to do, then fine. But don't ever do that to him... You leave him be or else."

End of Flashback

"Hey. Where did you go?"

Ariel is snapped out of her thoughts when hearing Jeremy speaking to her.

"Huh?"

"We're suppose to be hanging out as much can before you graduate tomorrow! Because not long after that, you and Caroline will go on your roadtrip.

"At least you'll have Kol to yourself for the month while we're gone."

"Yeah but right after that Klaus and him will be joining you two for another month. And when the four of you get back. That's the last month that you and I will have together until you go off for college. We won't get to hang out as much during that. So I would like to spend as much time with my big sister if you don't mind."

"...It's been an honor to have been your sister, Jer. Thanks for being the little brother I've always wanted."

"Right back at ya." He says ruffling her hair and she smacks his hand away, giggling.

The next day when Ariel wakes up, she feels herself lying on someone's chest. When she looks up, she sees Damon with his arms crossed behind his head and smirking at her.

"Did you sneak into my house?"

"Nope, your mom let me in and your sister told me to wake you up."

"If Kol knew you were doing this, he would kill you."

"No he wouldn't if he doesn't want to suffer from your wrath."

She gives a soft chuckle. "...I really missed you, Dee Dee."

He smiles and pokes her head. "I was still around, remember? Even if you couldn't see me."

"...So you know everything?"

"The fact that you're a reincarnation of a thousand year old warlock?" He shrugs. "So what if you're technically older that me? I still consider you my baby sister." She giggles. "Now about this road trip that you and Blondie are going on..."

"What about it?"

"I'm not sure riding that motorcycle..."

"Are you serious? Or are you just irritated that you think Stefan got me the best birthday gift?"

"...Maybe both."

"If it makes you feel any better, Kol got me the best birthday gift." She says while picking up Shadow, making Damon roll his eyes. "Also, I am an excellent driver."

"What about food?"

"Rest stops. Restaurants. Hotels."

"Know not to pick up hitchhikers?"

"Of course I know that!"

"What about guys hitting on you?"

Caroline barges into Ariel's room and throws a shoe at Damon, which he dodges by vamp speed to get off the bed. Shadow is startled and starts barking.

"Hey, you almost hit me with this deathtrap! How can you even wear these?! And you scared Shadow!" She says while throwing the shoe off the bed and petting Shadow.

"Sorry! Damon, I told you to wake her up but instead you're trying to make our sisterly trip not happen!"

"Well then why didn't you wake her?"

"Because I would have threatened her with no cotton candy for the day. Now could you stop being so overprotective?!"

"So what if I'm overprotective? She's my little mermaid."

"Whatever. Get out our house so we can get ready!"

All the students, in their caps and gowns, are gathering at the football field while getting ready for the ceremony. Ariel and Bonnie are in a secluded spot, eating cotton candy.

"I'm going to miss doing this with you, Bon Bon."

"We'll still get to do this, Ari. Whenever we meet up, I'll always still sneak you some cotton candy behind Care's back."

"And you suffered her wrath with me. Because of your loyalty, I'll perform a spell just like you did for me back then."

Flashback

As Ariel is painting a portrait of Clarissa and Aunt Eleanor, Bonnie comes into her room.

"As beautiful as that is, I'm going to need you stop for a moment and come over here." Bonnie says as she grabs one of Ariel's pillows and rips it open, emptying it of the feathers.

"Did you just steal my pillow's feathers?!"

"You have four other pillows, Ari. Now I need to swear you to secrecy."

"You know I can keep a secret but you just destroyed one of my pillows!"

"I brought cotton candy."

"Okay, I can shut up." Ariel says as she rushes over to her bed and sits on it.

"No windows open. No fan or air conditioning." She takes a breath. Okay."

Bonnie places her hand over a feather and begins to levitate it. Ariel gasps and then several more feathers are levitated.

"Everything my Grams told me. It's impossible and it's true... I'm a witch."

"Oh my god... We're telling Caroline next, right?"

Both the girls giggle and Ariel continues to watch the feathers with a feeling of excitement.

End of Flashback

As Bonnie smiles at the corporeal forms of different animals parading around her, Ariel takes the time to whisper another spell.

"Orchideous."

A bouquet of alstroemerias' appears in Bonnie's lap.

"Ariel..." Bonnie's eyes glisten with tears.

"Happy graduation, Bonnie. Let's continue to stay best friends for a long time and you make sure you find your happiness, okay?"

Bonnie gives a tearful smile and nods, then proceeds to hug Ariel.

"Thanks for bringing Damon back even when I didn't ask you to."

"You never used me for my powers. It was the least I could do... I love you, Ari."

"Love you too, Bon Bon."

"Where are the others?" Caroline asks.

"I'm here." Matt says he arrives.

"What have you been?"

"Making plans for the summer with Jer and Ty."

"Look after my little brother while my sister and me are gone. I don't trust Kol, he'll make Jeremy fat."Matt chuckles. 

"Okay, I'll make sure your boyfriend doesn't keep him in the house playing video games and eating junk food."

"Hey..." Tyler greets them from behind Ariel.

Ariel turns around and hugs him. "You're gonna be okay, right?"

"Yeah." He tells her as tightens the hug.

"Now where's Rebekah?"

"Right here." Rebekah links her arm with Caroline's. "No way you all are doing this without me."

"Did you take it?" Ariel asks and Rebekah nods.

"I can't believe it... We're actually all here. We are all here together!"

"Yes, we finally got out of this prison!" Ariel cheers, making Caroline smack her arm and everyone else laugh.

"Bonnie Bennett...are you crying?" Caroline asks.

"It's our last hurrah before we go off to college." Bonnie tells her as Ariel passes her a tissue. "I'm happy that we're all here. That we made it."

"Aww, group hug!"

After the six of them close in for a hug, they hear a familiar voice.

"COUSINS!!!"

Ariel and Caroline break away from the group hug and turn around to see Clarissa running and screaming at them.

"HAPPY GRADUATION, MY LOVELIES!!!"

Ariel and Caroline squeal and run to meet with her halfway. When reach each other, Clarissa tackles them both in a hug.

"Clary, you're here!" Ariel says excitedly.

"Of course I am! You two and Aunt Liz came to my graduation, so how can I not come?"

"Leave it to you to make an entrance." Caroline giggles.

"By the way, where's Kol?"

"Why, so you can scare him with Miliani again?"

Clarissa smirks. "Not my fault he's scared of my precious hellhound. He's lucky he got my dad and I's approval."

"Who is that?" Rebekah asks.

"That would be Clarissa. She's Caroline and Ariel's cousin." Bonnie answers her. "Other than you and Caroline, she's not the person you would want to piss off. Her temper is way worse, maybe more than Klaus'."

"Hmm, she's very beautiful. She also seems like she could have been my brother's type. Well, he has Caroline anyway."

Mayor Hopkins begins to open the ceremony and the audience takes their seats.

"Welcome parents, family, and friends. What a beautiful day for a graduation. Thank you for joining us today on this special day, as we celebrate our graduates. So let's get started."
As he calls out the students' names and hands them their diplomas, Bonnie is the next to be called.

Um, not to play favorites, but I am especially proud of this next graduate, my lovely daughter. Bonnie Bennett!"

Bonnie walks onto the stage and hugs her father.

"Congratulations. I'm proud of you of you, sweetie."

"Thanks, dad."

"You're welcome."

After Bonnie walks off stage, he continues to hand out the rest of the diplomas. Clarissa feels a pair of eyes on her and looks down the row to see that it's Klaus. However, she begins notice that he's not looking at her in a certain way...

"Dad." She pats his shoulder.

"Yes, sweetheart?"

"Kol's brother, the blue eyed one... He's not looking at me that way."

"What?!" Lucifer mutters.

"Klaus, right?" Clarissa asks.

"Yes, excuse me for staring but... Have we met before?"

"Maybe in another life. Who knows?"

Kol, if your brother does not stop staring at my daughter, I will rip out his spine and make him choke on it!" Lucifer whispers angrily to him.

"Ariel Forbes!" 

Ariel walks onto the stage and shakes his hand.

"Thanks, Mr. Hopkins."

"No, thank you for being there for my daughter."

As Ariel walks across the stage, she looks at the audience and sees her loved ones. Damon winks at her and she does the same back. She then sticks her tongue out, resulting in Eleanor, Clarissa and Jeremy doing it back at her. Lucifer, Katherine, the Salvatores and the Mikaelsons' snicker as Liz smacks both Eleanor and Clarissa's arms.

"Really?!"

"Look, you already know that me and Clary did it at her graduation. Our children do it, and they're children will and so on. I'm trying to pass on a tradition here. Get with it, Liz." Eleanor tells her.

"Caroline Forbes. Congratulations." He says as while shaking her hand.

"Thank you."

He shakes his head. "I also like to thank you for looking after my daughter."

Caroline looks at the audience and notices Clarissa making funny faces at her, making her laugh. Liz claps for both her daughters, with a tearful expression.

Flashback

At the old Forbes cabin, Liz is teaching Caroline and Ariel how to ride their bicycles.

"Keep pleading, girls. You can do it."

"Don't let go, mommy!"

"I won't, not till you're ready."

"We're not ready! But just to let you know in advance, cotton candy will heal my injuries if I get injured!"

Liz laughs. "I know, sweetie."

"Enough of the cotton candy, already! How can you not care for the calories?!"

"It gives me life!"

"Girls?!"

"Yes?!" They both ask.

"You're ready."

They look back to notice their mother have already let go of their bikes and they're riding them all of their own.

End of Flashback

From a distance, a man is watching the ceremony and Kieran O'Connell walks up next to him.

"She has grown into a beautiful young woman, hasn't she?"

"...Yeah, she has."

"Are you going to go talk to her?"

"No... Because if I do, I'm afraid I won't be able to let her go this time."

"Are you sure... Marcel?"

"...I'm sure... My Sunshine doesn't need me anymore." He says with a smile.

After the ceremony, Ariel runs straight towards Stefan and gives him a hug.

"Missed you, Stef. Did you thank Bonnie?"

"Missed you too and I did."

"Good. Now where's this girl of yours at? Did you bring her?"

"See about that... You're still not meeting her yet."

"Oh come on!" Ariel stomps her foot.

"Little Mermaid, come here. Give me my hug." He pulls her into a hug. "I know you're going on your trip in only a couple of days but... Just take care of yourself. Got it?"

Ariel smiles. "Got it."

"Can I hug my precious niece now?" Lucifer asks.

"Yeah, my precious cousin!"

After Damon steps away from Ariel, Lucifer and Clarissa bring her into a group hug.

"Graduated already... Who told you two to grow up so fast?"

"Dad, you know we can't control my our growth. It's part of life. Now cuz, make sure you stop by in L.A. on your roadtrip, okay? I'll give you guys the grand tour."

"You and Caroline will also be granted VIP access to my nightclub."

"Thanks...both of you."

"Out of the way, it's my turn!"

Eleanor pulls Ariel out of her husband and daughter's grip. "Sweetie, congratulations of your graduation. When you stop by, we can have a cookout. I'll make so many burgers! And of course I won't forget the cotton candy cake!"

"Thanks, Aunt Elle."

As Ariel gives her a hug, Katherine comes up to them.

"So Kat, what are your plans for the summer? Going on a romantic rendezvous with Eli?"

"Still trying to set me and Elijah up?"

"Is it working?"

"...Maybe."

"Yay!"

Katherine rolls her eyes playfully. "Happy graduation. And be careful on your trip, okay? Call me if you need anyone dead."

"We'll see."

Ariel gives her a hug before walking over to her mother and sister.

"I'm so proud of you girls... You both did it. I knew you could. Ariana would also be proud of you both."

"We love you, mom." The sisters say tearfully before hugging their mother.

Caroline notices Kol and pulls away from the hug, quickly walking over to him.

"Did you get it?"

"Yes."

"You're going to do it when we meet up over the summer, right?"

"Yes, Ariel and I will be heading over to Paris. That's when I will do it. But I'm so tempted to just do it now, look at her!"

"Don't you dare, all the planning we did can't go to waste! Oh my, I can't wait! Make sure she wears the dress that I picked out! Ooh! And take plenty of pictures!"

"Caroline, I've got it. I've done this once, I'm sure I can do it again."

"Kol... These times are different. Plus you had to get my mom, Aunt Elle, Uncle Luci, Clarissa and mine's blessing."

"That cursed cousin of yours and her bloody hellhound." He mutters. "Screw it, I'm popping the question now." He says before walking away.

"What?! No! I'm not in the mood to drag your corpse through this town, Kol Mikaelson!" She yells going after him.

As soon as Kol walks up to Ariel, he notices her staring at nothing.

"Darling?"

He waves his hand in front of her face and gets no response.

"Ariel...?"

"What's going on? What's wrong with my sister?"

 He stands in front of her and places his hands on her shoulders, shaking her a bit.

"Ariel, can you hear me?"

"Sis?"

Ariel is suddenly standing in the middle of the street somewhere in Miss Mystic Falls...

"What the hell? How the hell did I get here? I was just at my graduation.

"Ariel."

Ariel turns around to see Shelia Bennett.

"Ms. Bennett!" She smiles and goes to hug her. "I've missed you!"

"I missed you too, sweet one."

"Wait... Am I dead?" Ariel asks as she takes a step back.

"No. I'm here to give you some advice. Now this place? It's someone's own personal hell and you're one of the two people of who can help him. If you know who I mean." Ariel's eyes widened. "You're going to need him in the future. Dark forces are coming for you, Ariel. You must prepare yourself. Those who are hungry for power, will do anything just to get yours... Now I have to go, my time is up." She says before turning away.

"Wait, hold on!"

"And Ariel?" Shelia looks back at her once more. "Thank you for looking out for my granddaughter. Because of you, she'll live a better life. The world wouldn't get by without kind souls like you."

After Shelia disappears, she hears a voice behind her.

"Wow, you're cute." Ariel turns around, startled. "Sorry, haven't seen anyone in a long time. But just who are you and how did you get here? Because I'm pretty sure that this is my hell. Wait, where are my manners? My parents didn't care much to teach me about proper etiquette, just to let you know. It's hard for me to stop talking, I have this thing where I just can't shut up. Anyway, pork rind?"

"...Kai?"

"So you know me but I don't know you... Who are you?"

Before she can answer him...

"Mom! Uncle Kai!"

Ariel turns around to see a teenage boy and girl smiling at her and Kai.

"Who did you just call mom?"

"And who did you just call uncle?"

"Ah... Mom, do you not recognize-" The girl's mouth is suddenly covered by the boy's hand.

"Ronnie... Mom isn't wearing her wedding ring!" The boy whispers.

The girl's eyes widened when she looks down at Ariel's left hand and she removes the boy's hand from her mouth.

"Wait, did we...?" She whispers to the boy.

"Hey, why are you two calling me mom and... Wait..." Ariel takes a step closer to the girl. "You kinda resemble..." Ariel gives a shocked look when looking back and forth between the young teenagers. "Are you two...?!"

"Hi, mommy." The teenage girl gives an awkward smile.

"Just to let you know, I'm your favorite." The boy tells her.

"Shut up, Xander!"

"Make me, Ronnie!"

Kai goes to stand next to Ariel, whose jaw is wide open.

"Wait, is someone going to explain to me on how I became an uncle?"

Yep... KAI IS FINALLY HERE! And Ariel has met her future kids! Weren't expecting that were you?😂 I'm so excited to write about them! I can tell you they'll remind of Kol and Rebekah/Ariel and Caroline's bonds! Then the Ariel and Kai brotp, ya'll aren't ready for that!

I hope this was a good chapter for you all and if it was, what did you all enjoy most about it?

Also, I don't know if any of you figured it out earlier but Marcel is Ariel's dad! Well, adoptive dad anyway. He was the same dad from the flashbacks who would call her Sunshine. Now I'm excited to write that relationship! It was always the plan for Marcel to her the man who raised her for nine years until he had to send her away.

Now I'm going to go before ya'll get mad at me. Until next time! Also, I will announce when I will post the next book so don't ask me. For now I'm taking a break from the series to finish other books, then Ariel Forbes will make her return.
